Cleaning house
Often people will ask us..who do you think the baby looks like...you or your husband? Well, Neela has been spending so much time with her, I think I might have to respond, "Neither, she takes after the dog, LOL!" I wonder what kind of looks I'll get for that one? (Better post coming later in the day...I have to clean our house quickly before our cleaning lady comes this morning. Yes, I realize that makes no sense at all. Also, I've been meaning to tell her that we don't need her to come clean anymore since I'm not pregnant and on bedrest anymore. But can you believe I've avoided it up until now because I feel too bad about letting her go I can't bring myself to do it? What the heck is wrong with me! I really like her and I know business has been tough lately for her because of the economy so I just can't bring myself to break the news to her yet. But truthfully I can't justify keeping her, you know? Gosh I'm a pathetic wimp who doesn't want to hurt her feelings. I need to grow a pair I know :-) PS...Brynn slept through the night again last night!
Question of the day...does anyone know how long you can keep breastmilk frozen in a side by side freezer? You know the one people commonly have in their kitchen with side by side doors one to the refrigerator and the other the freezer? I know a deep freeze freezer (stand alone) is 6 months and I've heard most others is 3 months...does that sound right?

Fresh milk may be stored in the refrigerator for 5-7 days at 39°F. Frozen milk may be stored in the back of the freezer portion of a refrigerator-freezer for up to six months.(Check if ice cream is rock hard) Frozen milk may be stored in a -20°C deep freezer for up to 12 months. Defrosted milk may be kept for up to 24 hours in the refrigerator.
I hope this helps. I did homecare when I was nursing/pumping and used to sit in the back of the minivan during breaks to pump. Thank goodness for tinted windows. I think it will be easier at the hospital.
Yes, please send Brynn whenever you like, but you have to come with her, Of course!
You are so welcome, Sara. I can't wait for you all to visit, it would be delightful. You name the place and time, and WE ARE THERE!!
I will hope for a Super Duper CRNA conference at Disneyland when Brynn is a little older. Big ((Hugs)) and yes, Brynn and Neela both have beautiful eyes, but I think Brynn is the perfect combination of you and J!
Hmm, Neela is awfully cute but I don't know if I see the resemblance LOL. I think she has your eyes though...maybe your facial shape.
Yikes!
You sound like me. I have someone come in 2-3 times per week to clean.
(I never let her clean our bedroom or bathroom).
For example, this week I have her painting the inside doors--just so I have work for her.
I have no answer to your question--but I imagine if you date when you freeze them and use accordingly, then you might be able to use within 3-6 months.
Me thinks Brynn looks like you.
All the best,
Anna
Haha! I love that Brynn is beginning to look like Neela! That's hilarious!
If I were your hubby, I would knock you in the head (not really though) if you were not only still paying for a cleaning lady you didn't require anymore but also cleaning before she got there. WTH!?!? Have you gone mad finally?
I consulted my 8 ball and it says "most definitely".
Just explain to her how sorry you are Sara. She'll understand, I'm sure.
Neela is loving her some Brynn and I think that is the sweetest thing ever. Unfortunately, Diesel is about 160 lbs, so I don't see him napping with our kiddos, until they are MUCH older. :)
You are so sweet to keep your cleaning lady on longer. Once you go back to work, you may wish you had her, no need to make a decision now. :)
((HUGS))
Sara, Brynn is so cute.. How funny is that she takes after the dog. Congrats on the sleeping through the night. Can you send your tricks my way. Genevieve is goes down at 8:30 pm, up at 11p, 2a, 4a, 6a..
As far as breast milk storage -- according to Medela -- freezer unit - approx 3-4 months and a deep freeze for approx 6-12 months. (I normally rotate my stock.) I will take a couple frozen ones out and use and put the fresh pumped ones in. Then you don't have to worry about how long they have been in. Good luck.
Sara, you are a riot. I would clean before the cleaning lady would come too, lol. Who are we?
I think Brynn and Neela are starting to look alike! They are both adorable!
I've heard the same thing about side by side freezers- three months.
I did the 3 month rule.
Oh yes i see the sibling resemblence!
Too cute
I'm so like that when it comes to telling people I don't need them anymore etc. I'm a softy.
