Inspiration all around!

Hi There

A very Happy Weekend to all.

My card today was inspired by a few challenges:

This week's photo at Fusion caught my eye immediately. The arty water splash look inspired me to use the Papertrey water splash stamps and the  die cut butterfly butterfly.

The colours came from Colour Throwdown-although my purple does look more pink here-it is purple!

I stamped the water colour splashes and then die cut the butterfly. I also die cut the butterfly in yellow fun foam-after seeing Jen's card at Less is More, I will enter their 'shadow' challenge as my yellow adds a lovely bright shadow.

The sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch inspired the layout.

I liked this card by Natasha on Instagram and loved how she used the splashes and die. This is my go at following this idea-do love how it turned out-thanks Natasha for the inspiration

I will also enter this into Addicted to Stamps and More-CAS

Have a good day x

Season Greetings!

Hi There,

I finally have made a few Christmas cards!
I saw the 'season' challenge at CASology and the Christmas Season came to mind straught away.

Here is my first Christmas card this year:

I got a few Christmas cards last year using this die and loved them. I knew I had to add it to my collection. All I have done here is die cut it in sparkle fun foam and added the sentiment-a perfect one for this challenge. I made a few of these cards as they are quick and easy and my kind of CAS!

Have a fun day x

Time Out Challenges #82

Hi,

We have a new challenge starting at Time Out Challenges today.

It is our theme challenge and the theme is:

Flowers with the optional twist of Kissing-this is where you use 2 stamps to make one image-here is a tutorial of this technique.

I didn't use the technique for my card. I did have a try but wasn't so happy with the result!

I decided to continue with my Spring cards and made this:

I made my fav kind of card-just stamping and do love the clean look and fresh and spring colours.

The 2 large flowers here are from our Sponsor for this challenge Happy Little Stampers. These flowers are from the set Doodled Flowers.

Our DT have all made fabulous cards-check them out here and then get inky.

Enjoy x

Inkspirational #133

Hi All

Time for a new challenge at Inkspirational. We have the designers choice and this time it is the very talented Pia who has chosen:

Graffiti Stamping

I didn't know what this was but it is all about text stamping in layers.

A challenge for me but this is what I came up with:

I basically got out lots of different stamp sets and just starting stamping away. It was fun to do and I like all the different mix of fonts. I went for my much loved one layer using the linen embossing plate to add texture. Sequins, enamel dots and gems to finish off.

At Inkspirational this week we are happy to welcome back one of our original team members Kylie. Kylie was part of the DT right from the beginning of Inkspirational and I am so pleased she has re-joined us.I am sure most of you know Kylie but if not check out her blog here. You will love what you see. Kylie is also the designer and owner of her own stamp company Happy Little Stampers. I have used quite a few of their sentiments in my card today!

Time for you to get those sentiments out and have a go at Grafffiti stamping.

Have a Beautiful Day!

Hi All

Today I wanted to do some watercolouring and here is what I created:

I was inspired by the card by Jenni at Muse. You can see Jenni's card here or at the bottom left of this post. I took from Jenni's card:

-The use of flowers to cover the card base-quite unusual for me and although I didn't manage to cover the whole base
-the sentiment strip but I used vellum
-the water colour look-I am not sure if Jenni's card is water coloured but it looks it!

The colours at Colour Throwdown really caught my eye this week. I thought it an usual combo but loved it and wanted to have a play.

I used my new stamp from STAMPlorations, heat embossed it in white then used water colours in orange, red and yellow. I then just splattered some purple paint around.

The sentiment was heat embossed in orange. I placed the card onto a red base as I thought my red water colour paint was quite pale and wanted to add a more vibrant red. Although in the photo it appears orange, I assure you it is red!

This was fun to make and the water colouring very relaxing.

Enjoy your day

Love Grows

Hi There,

Just popping in with a super CAS card I just made for the challenge this week at Casology where the cue word is 'Grow'.

As soon as I saw this cue word I thought of this quote from Verve

I just stamped the sentiment and 2 little hearts (from the same set at Verve). The top heart is a little paper die cut heart. I added a few enamel dots for the centre of the flower for a little more interest. Popped the panel up on foam pads and done!

Have a fun day x

Springtime Wishes

Hi All

I have a Springtime card for you today:

The layout of this card is based on the sketch this week at Mojo Monday. I don't often enter this challenge as I find the sketches quite a challenge but this week I was determinded to have a go. I loved the way Teresa interpreted the sketch and it appealed to my CAS loving heart. I actually went for a more CAS version!
I decided to use en embossed line instead of twine. I heat embossed one stamp on vellum and coloured the backside of this to make a peach colour-I had to mix a few copics to get this colour. My colours were chosen from the challenge at Just Us Girls. The yellow flower is just stamped-this and the sentiment are from Verve.

Have a good day x

The New Pretty!

Happy Easter Sunday,

I hope you all have a lovely day whatever you are doing.

I am back with another card inspired by the 'Strong' challenge at CASology-sorry CASology DT for yet another entry! I didn't realise how many sentiments I had focused around this cue word but it has been fun using them and it has inspired me to start an Art Journal with the first page focused on being strong. I think it will be a good to have a page like this that I can look back on when I need a little extra strength to help me through the tough times.

Anyway, enough dribble and back to me card:

Yes that is copic colouring you see! Water colouring yesterday, copic colouring today...goodness what is happening to me-CAS is still there! The colours were taken again from the butterflies in the photo from The Card Concept. (CAS this time)

The lay out from CAS(E) this Sketch.

The butterfly stamp is from STAMPlorations and I will enter it into their CAS challenge using the twist of pastel colours

The sentiment is from The Ton and I will enter it into their April AG challenge. I heat embossed it in white.

Enjoy you day x

You Got This!

Hi There

Today I have a water coloured card that was inspired by a few challenges:

I liked the photo at The Card Concept and picked out the soft white flowers and the colours of the butterflies. I think my card is 'clean and layered'. I used the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch. The cue word 'Strong' at CASology-this card is going to a very dear friend who is starting chemo on Friday. I thought the sentiment might help her reach her inner strength.

I heat embossed the flower from Uniko then coloured with water colours. I don't have this pink so did some mixing to get the pale look. I then heat embossed the sentiment form The Ton on vellum. I got this idea when I saw this card from Hannelie. I actually used my disressed tool to get the torn look.

Have a fun day x

I will enter this into the challenges mentioned above and the following ones:

Have Courage!

Hello and a very Happy Easter,

I have a very CAS one layer card today inspired by a few challenges:

I simply stamped this leave from PTI, first masking off the top part of the leaves so it fitted better with the sketch I used at Freshly Made Sketches-I flipped the sketch and as I don't have any fancy curved dies I came up with the idea of using the curved part of this stamp instead. After stamping this sentiment from Verve, I embossed the card with my fav linen embossing plate. It was quite dull when I took the photo so you can't see this so well (I took the photo so many times but the weather was not helping!!). I rounded off both edges to follow the flow of the curved leaf.

I do love this sentiment and I like to not add to much to a card with this on because I like it to be the focus. I think it says it all and great for someone who needs a little extra help to stay strong.

I will enter this into:

Less is More-curve-the curve of my leaf and the curved edges of the card

Enjoy your Easter x

Time Out Challenges #81

Hello all new and old friends of TIME OUT

Our challenge for this fortnight is our 'Home Sweet Home' photo inspired by interior design.

Here is my card using the fabulous stamp set Trendy Butterflies 2 by our sponsor STAMPlorations. This stamp set is amazing. I love it as soon as I saw it and each image stamps so cleanly. The sentiment are wonderful and very unique.

Here is our photo that inspired my card:

I am sure you can see I was inspired by the butterflies but also went with the soft grey background-stamping all the small butterflies in this set randomly on a die cut circle which represented the clock. And yes my friends I have coloured the butterfly in my basic way and use Wink of Stella for some sparkle.

I found this photo so inspiring and although it is tempting to go with butterflies there are plenty of other directions you could take-numbers, clocks, explosions of colours, I also see the use of vellum here (not sure why but take a peek at the edges of the photo) I cant wait to see what you come up with.

Our Guest Designer for this challenge is the inspiring Michelle. She won our Birthday challenge out of so many entries and we are over the moon she agreed to join us for this challenge. Check out blog here and her Instagram account here-lots of stunning cards to be found.

We have lots of amazing prizes up for grabs from our sponsor Stamplorations-check them out on our main blog Time Out where you will also see what our Guest Designer and DT have made to inspire you.

Time to kick back and craft-let your creativity fly!
