a little slice of fun

a card! a card! i finally made another card! ha ha! you know, i just had to take a quick break from cards for a while. but i'm back! and this latest card fits with two challenges! :) yay!

the first challenge is ead designs with a fun and inspiring color challenge:

yeah, it's pretty rad. i know!
the second challenge (one of my favorites!) is for wee memories, 'a touch of pink' - another great challenge!

and with those challenges combined, i have created this little slice of fun!

i used four different kinds of ribbon as the background! i love how bright, and festive and fun it is - despite being a christmas card! i used a punch to create the snowflakes and i wanted it to seem like the little reindeer was frollicking through snow! which, oh yeah, the reindeer stamp and sentiment were created using lawn fawn stamps!

i paper pieced and popped up the reindeer and the sentiment for some dimensional fun! oh, and i tried to make the snowflakes curl and look random...but i'm not sure how well that turned out! lol!

enjoy!

ead and 2 sketches 4 you challenges

i have another double challenge card here - whew! :) i wanted to be sure to get my card in for the ead designs challenge and the 2 sketches 4 you challenge, so i decided, why not combine the two? the color challenge for the ead designs and the sketch for the 2s4y challenge are below, check them out:

have i mentioned that i have a little obsession with birds/birdhouses lately...? *whistle* well, that obsession has crept back up again! ha ha! i made this card the other day for these challenges, but i am just now getting around to posting it! oops!

when i saw the sketch i instantly thought of a clothesline made out of floss - especially since i just bought some tiny, wooden clothespins at hobby lobby last week, i figured, this is the time!

i hand cut out the birdhouse and popped it up for some dimmension, and (again) finished off the birdhouse with a button. the little teal birdie is actually a vinyl rub-on from ead! i love their rub-ons! and the stamps are those same hero arts tiny letters! the teal 'sky' was hand torn, and i really like that you can see the white, i think it adds to the landscape!

so that's the schpeal! thanks for checking it out!
enjoy!

my favorite colors

today's card is one that i made for the challenge that EAD is having; their modern seaside color challenge! the inspiration colors are below:

if you know me, you know that these are absolutely all of my favorite colors! i mean, teals and greens, um yes please! but i didn't want to over do it with the colors - i wanted them to just be accents. because almost as much as i love those colors, i love when they are combined with brown! yep! so here's what i did:

you may notice that the clouds are in different postions. well that's because i made the card so that clouds can move and reveal the 'sun'! i cut the clouds out and then glued them to brads. then i used an exacto knife to cut long slices through the card. i put the brads through and vwa-la! moveable clouds!

i also really like the sayings for this card. i wanted to use a sort of 'chain reaction' for the sentiments (the first line ends in 'you', the second line starts with 'you', the second line ends with 'love', and the third line starts with 'love'). neat, right?

now if i could just work on my stamping ability...
:)

you may have also noticed that the tree is a rub-on from, you guessed it, EAD! i am officially in love with their run-ons.
enjoy!
