dog days of summer!
hello there!
today, I have this card up on the Newton's Nook Designs Blog! and I hope it makes you smile and chuckle as much as I did!
love it!
that puppy with the hose reminds me of my parent's dog in the summers and I just LOVE it!! it's SO funny, and contagiously fun!
I used the super adorable Dog Days of Summer Stamp Set! once it was colored with Zig Clean Clear Real Brush Markers, I fussy cut it out!
for the background, I used Mustard Seed and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Inks to ink blend the background! then I used the same colors, but with more pressure, through the Sunscape Stencil to create the sun and rays!
I dropped some water and splatters of color over the inked background too.
then I used the Cloudy Sky Stencil to add some texture with the white, puffy clouds! :)
be sure to check this out on the Newton's Nook Designs blog!
and now back to your regularly scheduled summer day! ha!
enjoy!

teddy bear party!
hi!
today I have this fun, birthday card up on the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge blog!
I LOVE the tiny pops of rainbows against that bluet/purpley sky!
I colored all of the images with Zig Clean Colors Real Brush Markers and then fussy cut them out!
I used the sweet, cute teddy bears from You're Claw-some and then accessorized them with the fun party hats, cake, utensils, presents and balloons from Party Animal!
the background was ink blended with Distress Oxide inks: Blueprint Sketch, Peacock Feathers and Wilted Violet!
then, I splattered some water and white acrylic paint over it all!
the sentiment was heat embossed in white onto some black cardstock, and then die cut it out with the Fancy Wavy Banners die set!
I love these little images stealing the show on this card!
be sure to play along with the latest challenge for your chance to win!

Create a Smile Stamps July 2019 Release!
**this is my 2nd post of the day! to see my Newton's Nook July Blog Hop post and Birthday Bash, scroll down or click here!**
hello!
what an amazing week this is!!
are you ready for the Create a Smile Stamps July release?! it's SO cute and fun!
my first card uses the new Your Favorite Icecream stamp set and new Useful Banners die set!
so cute, right?! I stamped and colored all of the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers, and then fussy cut them out!
that cute, little mouse is from the First Day of School stamp set! it's just the perfect size for that spoon!!
the sentiment is from the A Little Treat stamp set, and I created that FUN background with the Mix & Match Patterns stamp set! loooooove this pastel-y card! and everything works together so well!
I also added some stickles to the cherry and ice-cream because it's so sweet! ha!
my next two cards both use the new sad, but necessary (and so cute!) Paw Prints stamp set!
awww...it really hits me in all the feels! these cute little critters have crossed the rainbow bridge. it's so sad, but hopefully this set helps bring comfort and peace to the humans left behind!
I really love how the bright colors of the rainbows pop against that navy blue cardstock. All of the small clouds were popped up with foam tape, along with the puppy.
this one is for a lost kitty, sniff sniff:
I used some black gesso to create that paint brush swept background. and then added the gold stars for lots of contrast.
just now I'm reminded that I wanted to add glitter to the stars....ha! oops!
the sentiments in this stamp set are seriously so beautiful and comforting.
my last project is a layout featuring ALL of the banners from the new Useful Banners dies!
as soon as I saw these banners, I knew I was going to make this layout! ha! I also used my new favorite stamp set EVER - the Clear Letters stamp set! I added the 'sometimes' to the title, and the date at the bottom!
because my two little Menn here are best brothers...sometimes! ha ha! not all the time!
I die cut out the banners about a million times...lol!! in a ton of rainbow patterned papers that I have and then stitched them together with my sewing machine!
I also used the Big Stars Polka Stencil to add some texture to the background! I used white embossing paste, so it's nice and touch-y! lol!
I also splattered some white acrylic paint on the background.
so those are my projects for this new, fun release!!
be sure to grab your favorite new sets! which one do you love the most?!
enjoy!
Newton's Nook Designs’ 6 Year Celebration Blog Hop + Giveaway

today we have a big blog hop and giveaway to celebrate!!
for my card, I used the new Corgi Beach Stamps and Dies, as well as the new Edge Stencil Set!
I couldn't resist making some rainbow waves to celebrate!
I started by ink blending the Distress Inks in rainbow order, then I went over the same colors with the Waves Edge Stencil, and more pressure! LOVE how it looks!
and of course, I couldn't resist splattering some water on top, too! ha!
I stamped and colored the CUTE little corgi with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers! then I thought he needed some blinged out shades! ha! so I added some Stickles to the waves and the glasses! love the glitter!

it's the last day of reveals for Newton's Nook Designs July release and 6 year birthday bash!
hold on to your hats, people!! this release is EPIC!
oh how I love all of these new stamps, stencils and dies!! just wait until you see it all! but in the mean time, check out what we're working with today: Lemon Twist, Gull Friends, Newton’s Melon, and Shrimp Cocktails + coordinating Dies.
you can totally create a project life type spread, gift tags and, of course, cards! all of the new sets will be available for purchase tomorrow, July 19th, right here!
I have a bunch of cards/projects to share, so let's get right into it!
my first card uses the ADORABLE Shrimp Cocktail set!
and guess what...I made a shaker!!
I repurposed the awesome Snow Globe Shaker Die Set to make this fun fish bowl!!
I ink blended with Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feathers and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide Inks, then splattered some water on top!
I also used the Waves Stencil and some white embossing paste to add texture to the background!
I am in LOVE with the contrast with the reds/pinks of the shrimp and the blues/greens of the fishbowl!! so fun!!
my next card uses the super sweet Newton's Melon mini stamp set, along with the new Edge Stencils to create the grass and clouds!
this is summer on a card! ha!
I die cut a stitched square with the Frames Squared Die set and then ink blended to create the grass and cloudy sky with the new Edge stencils!
I love that kraft background, it really help the heat embossed sentiment pop! oh! I also used some white embossing paste and the Cloudy Sky Stencil to create a little more interest to the card!
we're still going! are you with me??? ha!
my next card uses the Gull Friends stamp set, and this cracks me up SO MUCH!!
I couldn't help but color up a bunch of these guys and layer them in the water!!!
I created the water by using the packaging technique and the Blueprint Sketch and Peacock Feathers Distress Inks. once that was dry, I splattered more color as well as white acrylic paint on it.
and once THAT was dry, I mixed some Blueprint Sketch Distress Ink and white embossing paste together to create the waves with the Waves Stencil!
All of the gulls are popped up at different levels!
ok, my last project is a scrapbook page!
LOVE it! I used the new Lemon Twist Stamp Set, as well as the Edge Stencil Set!
I created stripes of color to add to my layout as banners by ink blending with Distress Inks! Mowed Lawn, Twisted Citron and Squeezed Lemonade for one, which I also stamped the sentiments from the set in coordinating colors on, and Blueprint Sketch, Mermaid Lagoon, Peacock Feathers and Cracked Pistachio and the waves edge stencil for the other!
all of the lemons were paper pieced together, and then I added shading with some watercolor markers, just to add a little extra fun!
the top of the layout has a border of the Cloudy Sky Stencil with white embossing paste! I can't ever stop the white on white texture, especially for this fun, summer layout!
I am in LOVE with these colors together!

my first card uses the MORE THAN ADORABLE Zoo Party stamp set!!
eep!!! right!? so cute!
I started by using Distress Oxide Inks in Pine Needles, Lucky Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn. once the base layer was on, I used the same colors, with more pressure, and the Tropical Leaves Stencil to add more interest to the background!
guys, this was so much FUN to color!!! I LOVED making each animal come alive! once the coloring was done, I fussy cut around the inside and popped it up against that background!
I used a smaller piece of white cardstock that I ink blended with Blueprint Sketch and Peacock Feathers, to go behind the sentiment!
I seriously LOVE how this came out!
the next uses the sweet, sweet Tropical Fringe stamp set!
tell me this doesn't scream summer!!! I loooove it! it's absolutely so bright and happy!
I used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers to color the image, and then cut along the square perimeter and popped it all up on the black and white polka dotted background!
the card base was cut with the Frames Squared Die Set to give it that sweet, scalloped shape!
and I finished off the card with some clear, sparkling sequins!
