Brant Point Light

I love to check out CSI Color Stories Inspiration each week to see what their assignment is...  This past week I was so excited to see that the photo they were drawing their inspiration from was of a favorite Lighthouse of mine that's on Nantucket!!  I try to do this Challenge Blog each week, but have missed quite a few weeks this Summer (I have so many printouts from the Blog that I still really want to do...)...  Any way, tonight I created this 6 x 6 layout.  Juanita and I have gone to Nantucket several times for the Daffodil Festival.  These photos were taken in 2009.  Love, love, love that weekend get-a-way.  My favorite vacation spot. We arrive on the Island, put away technology (for the most part =) and relax.  So nice to get a way with a friend and have no one looking for anything from me - sweet!!

The papers I used are mostly from the Authentique 6 x 6 pad Fresh.  Most everything else is from my stash.

Thanks so much for taking a look!!

CSI #25

Tonight I made a 6"x6" layout for the CSI Challenge #25.  I chose one of my daughter Laura's Senior photos to feature.  The colors worked out perfectly with the Challenge.  The picture was taken in 2002 (she graduated in 2003 =).  The papers I used are from the CSI Coordinates.  Most of the embellishments are Close to My Heart.

Thanks for stopping to look =)

CSI #24

I am definitely hooked on the Color... Stories... Inspiration... Challenges!!  I have chosen (for now) to create 6x6 layouts featuring one or two favorite old photos.  I guess I have come to realize that I have so many pictures and there is no way I will ever have the time to Scrapbook my kids early years, so this is the next best thing!!  I am loving this Challenge.

This week the colors were a perfect match for a favorite photo taken in the Summer of '93 (okay, maybe '94, unfortunately not really sure...).  This picture was taken at our family Beach House.  My sister and her daughter were there as well as my daughter and a friend of hers.  We got into face painting and Scott and his best buddy Zachary wanted to be dogs.  They were the best of friends.  However, as much as they loved to be together, they always ended up driving each other CrAzY!!  My son Scott was a very serious and sensitive boy.  Zachary was the opposite.  He thought about what he was doing AfTeR he did it!!  But, as opposite as they were, they had so much fun together!!

C.S.I. #23

Time to post another CSI (Color, Stories, Inspiration) layout.  My "investigation" is complete.  I have solved the case!!

My parents had 8 Grandchildren - or we can call them 8 Cousins.  The oldest are now 40 and the youngest (my son) is 24.  Even though there was a 16 year span, the cousins are all close (I love that).  5 of the 8 attended Gordon College in Wenham, MA.  In 1993 Karl, Matt and Mike were all students.  My neice Katie informed me today of the date this picture was taken.  She rembered that it was her birthday - the question was what year.  Well Mike married a girl he met there, Kellie.  Mike and Kellie are visiting for Father's Day weekend and she knew the year - 1993.  It was Sibling weekend and we had all gone up for the day.  It was a bit overcast, but we had a great day.  This picture is one of my favorites of the Cousins all together (and we do have many... =)

I am making all of my CSI layouts 6"x6" and featuring (usually) one favorite photo.

Thanks so much for stopping by...
I really do appreciate it!!

Unscripted Sketches #162

Once again I am combining the Sketch from Unscripted Sketches with CSI Color... Stories... Inspiration.  I love the sketches at US - they lend themselves to a small layout or a card.  I am trying to take some of my favorite older pics and do 6 x 6 layouts.  I love to work on the smaller scale and these sketches and the CSI inspiration are perfect together!!

Today I made a layout of two photos that I love taken on the 4th of July, 1992.  Scott had been "upset" about something and my husband just threw him over his shoulder to go have a talk.  The emotions were short lived and the day went on with smiles.  I love the back drop of the flag.  We had so many great pool parties on the 4th of July at my Aunt Grace's house.  Great memories!!
My DP is from CSI Coordinates.  The ribbon, brad and stars (colored with Copics) are CtMH.

Thanks so much for visiting!!

My Mom's Mom {heart}

One more card tonight - or actually - a 6 x 6 layout.  Patrice (The Old Back Porch) commented on one of my cards tonight and invited me to check out and join her 52 card pick up.  So of course I went right to her Blog to check it out and took a look at a couple of Challenges she had done that are new to me.  (I love to find "new to me" Challenges).  So this creation is a result of that =)
I have been going through some old photos and thought I should do something with them.  So, tonight a made a 6x6 layout of this photo of my Maternal Grandmother that was taken the Christmas Eve before I was born.  I chose to leave the date visible as it was written by my Mom.  I based the layout on the sketch from Unscripted Sketches and also the color and a few other details are taken from the Challenge at Color... Stories... Inspiration... CSI:  Case Study No. 21.  What a fun Blog that is =)
I thoroughly enjoyed making this little layout.  The DP is from My Mind's Eye Lost & Found - Blush.  Once I got the layout done, I went to my stash and started embellishing.  The crocheted flowers, pearls, pearl pin and Love clip are all CtMH.  The paper flowers are Recollections and the crocheted trim is from my stash.
