Spend & Save: Meghan Markle's Royal Wedding Makeup Look Tutorial High End vs Low End

Tuesday, 29 May 2018

Sooo, unless you've been living under a rock, you'll know that there was the most epic British Royal Wedding here in the UK and I didn't think I could get this emotionally invested in it but I totally was.

In the run up to the wedding I watched a few documentaries about the Royal Wives of Windsor and found myself soo interested in it and the fact that so many rules will be broken if Harry were to wed Meghan.. literally so many and I am here for it!

Anyway, the wedding was absolutely magical and of course we all wanted to see what Meghan would wear but for me I just wanted to see her makeup although I knew it would be on the more natural side to a typical Asian bride 😅

When the veil was lifted she looked absolutely stunning and radiant and as the rest of the wedding carried on, I was trying to see what was going on on her eyes as her face looked like she barely had even any foundation on!
From what I could see it looked like a matte smokey brown eye but not in the slightest bit heavy.

After the wedding ended I saw a lot of mixed responses about her makeup but I thought I'd challenge myself to attempt this look as I'm so used to using as many products as I can for a makeup look these days, it was refreshing that the look was so minimalistic on her.

Obvs I'm not blessed with beautiful skin like hers, so I did end up using a little more than I would have on someone with perfect skin/no circles, but read on to see the full list of products and a filmed tutorial!

FF: Illamasqua Daze Highlighter

Friday, 2 March 2018

Sooo Illamasqua have released a new shade of their Beyond Powder highlighters and as a fan of the OMG highlighter (read my top 5 gold highlighters blog post here), of course I was inspired to create something magical with it, being iridescent pink and all; the unicorn trend is still very much alive in 2018!

I thought I'd go for something a lot less dramatic on the eyes than my last Illamasqua look, this one is magical with pink and purple tones and I had a vision of using my blacklight for a pic (which I still have from none other than this Illamasqua event!)

The unicorn/mermaid trend isn't for everybody but I do love playing with makeup and the Beyond Powders look amazing wet or dry so I was eager to see how it would look under the blacklight idea I pictured in my head.

FF: 2018 Pantone Colour of the year - Ultraviolet

Friday, 5 January 2018

So as you guys should know by now, purple (and pink) are my favourite colours and with Ultraviolet being the Pantone colour of the year I knew I wanted to start the year off with a bang, so I created this makeup look using the Urban Decay Electric Palette as it was best fitting (see previous posts with this palette here!)

FF: Too Faced Just Peachy Mattes Quarter Cut Crease

Friday, 8 December 2017

After attending the FIRST Too Faced store launch in Carnaby Street London and receiving an epic goodie bag, I knew I had to create a look with the Just Peachy Mattes palette which is currently only exclusively available at the store in the UK (Debenhams dates tbc).

Read on to see the (mostly Too Faced) products used!

FF: Black Friday with Illamasqua

Friday, 24 November 2017

So for Black Friday I created a smokey look thanks to you guys who suggested I create it with the new Illamasqua Delirious palette I received.
I used a bit of the matte mauvey tones in the crease and the black glittery shade to create the smokey eye effect, read on to see exact products used!

Naked Heat Makeup Look 3 - He Devil Halo

Sunday, 13 August 2017

Last in this Naked Heat series trio of makeup looks is this fiery halo eye that I've called He Devil Halo (antithesis much?!)
I decided to use the reds in the palette to create a "halo" (or 3D) eye effect which is basically a technique using darker/matte shadows on the inner and outer corner eye and shimmer on middle of lid.
This technique suits more rounded eye shapes than mine but is one of my fave styles recently so I hope you guys are inspired by it <3

Naked Heat Makeup Look 2 - Smoked Ashes

Saturday, 12 August 2017

Second in my 3 part series of Naked Heat looks is this smoky matte look using shimmer shadows on the bottom lashline and a slight change of colour on the lips as I mixed 1993 Vice liquid lipstick with my fave nude pink shade Backtalk (yes it's personalised!) for this look.

Friday FOTD: Naked Heat Makeup Looks - Look 1 - Baked Ember

Friday, 11 August 2017

After my Naked Heat review + swatches (here), I wanted to create a couple looks with it so you guys can get some inspo seeing as many of you either already have this palette or wanted to see certain shades used (like Ashes and He Devil!)

I was going to just create two smoky looks (second smoky look here) as that was most requested but really wanted to add a reddish one (here) seeing as this palette is about bringing the HEAT:
Instead of putting them all in one post and making it super picture heavy, I've decided to split them up into three posts so keep an eye out for the other two makeup posts 👀
I pretty much used the same face/lip products for each look, with just a different eyeshadow technique, so I hope you enjoy this quick makeup series!

Friday FOTD: Ariana Grande Beauty and the Beast Makeup Tutorial

Friday, 14 July 2017

For monthsss I've been meaning to upload this tutorial; I filmed it straight after watching Beauty and the Beast at the cinema, but didn't get round to editing it fast enough and then when the Manchester tragedy occurred it felt too wrong to post.. RIP all those innocent lives lost </3

I've always lowkey been an Ariana fan, but after watching Ariana's benefit concert in Manchester it was set in stone that she was awesome!

With the UK DVD release of Beauty and the Beast being this weekend, I thought I'd upload it in time for that, but do check out my video tutorial below as it's quite a wearable look using none other than the ever popular Modern Renaissance palette (yet again!).
The palette is definitely my favourite and most wearable pink-red hued palette so far (read my full review here), and seeing as most people (should) have it, I thought it would fit this "Ari-inspired" look best.

Friday FOTD: Mermaid Lashes Makeup Look - L'Oreal Miss Baby Roll

Friday, 21 April 2017

So lately I've been skipping uploading makeup looks to my blog purely because it's hard work enough uploading x3 makeup look IG posts these days let alone here on the blog with full reviews and swatch posts too!

I also find it easier to do a fast makeup look and take selfies with my phone if I have to, to keep my creative juices flowing and my instagram feed active. But for this particular look I brought out my SLR to take proper pics as it really made me feel some type of way.

In case you're not following me on Instagram, I recently have remembered my fondness of colour and how happy it makes me feel to wear bright colours, so I thought I'd upload the latest IG post here that made me feel all mermaid-y using blue shades.
Read on to find out what I used!

Friday FOTD: NYX Lid Lingerie + Modern Renaissance Berry/Maroon Make Up Look

Friday, 20 January 2017

Hello my beauts!

It's been a while since I posted a make up look for Friday FOTD, but ever since I got the new NYX Lid Lingeries I have been dying to create a look with them and as requested, I decided to use the reddest one from the selection I was sent: Evening Spell.

I also used the ever popular Modern Renaissance palette (review+swatches here).

FF: Blue-Green Glitter Ombre Eyeliner Tutorial Make Up Look

Friday, 11 November 2016

I put out another Twitter poll (I clearly have a lot of material to blog about at the mo, woohoo) and this Ombre Eyeliner tutorial won, with the Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics palette tutorial as a close second so I decided to incorporate both in this look and hope you like!
For my YouTube, I'm trying to keep it as simple and easy to follow as possible as I personally have never really been one to spend more than 10 minutes on a YouTube video and find it quite off-putting if a video is (sorry if you do!). I just don't have the time personally so if and when I do watch a YouTube video, I find myself skipping to the parts I'm interested in if the video is more than 10 minutes long.
Basically, I hope to cut all my videos to under 10 minutes as much as possible.. so that it's all high quality content and not me jabbering on about things irrelevant to what the video is about.
So this is the look I created with the new Urban Decay Razor Sharp Liquid Eyeliners, read on for the full list of products and the corresponding video tutorial!

FF: Soft Glitter Cut Crease Make Up Look + Tutorial

Friday, 4 November 2016

In case you haven't noticed, I've been pretty consistent with my blogging this year; I feel like I have my blogging mojo back and feel inspired with my consistent posts so if you're a fan of these or find them helpful, please do comment below and let me know what you'd like to see more of!

This week's makeup look is a fairly simpler/less harsh version of a glitter cut crease that I created back in 2013 (blog post here, check out my marker pen brows though!)

Anyways, here's the final look and I decided to create a corresponding YouTube tutorial with it below (yay!), so let me know if you recreate it and if you found it easy enough to follow!

FF: Super Simple Soft Smokey Make Up Look + Tutorial

Friday, 7 October 2016

Couldn't help alliterating there!
Soooo, after my last eye make up tutorial, I'm back with another "simple" full face one this time and I'm hoping it is of some benefit to my lovely followers out there!

I half contemplated not putting it up on YouTube to be honest, as I had to record on my Camcorder (which doesn't record in as great quality as my SLR) and I was out of shot a lot due to my mirror, but I salvaged what I could and hope you enjoy anyway!

Again, I'm using my Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette (review in this post). Read on to see all the products used!

FF: Easy Glittery Moondust Palette Make Up Look + Eye Make Up Tutorial | Eid

Friday, 9 September 2016

It's been quite a while since I've done a make up look on myself but I'm indeed back and with another YouTube video too *gasps*.

If you've kept up with me on my social media channels (Snapchat/Instagram), you would have probably seen me post about this beaut of a palette I received from Urban Decay: the Moondust palette. I was obsessed with the colour "Lithium" in this palette when I first swatched it and knew straight away I had to create a look with it (see "Magnetic" being used in the make over I did here).
As Eid is coming up, I thought it would be fitting to do a simple glittery make up look and one that doesn't require eyeliner so that it's super simple.

I thought I would make also make use of my Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette as it's sooo versatile and of course is currently sold out, so I'm assuming a lot of people have this as a staple palette too now!
(If you don't, see me rave about it in this post). Read on to see all the products used!

FF: Smokey Grey Alice Through The Looking Glass Make Up Look

Friday, 20 May 2016

This weeks look is using the new Urban Decay Alice Through The Looking Glass palette (to which I have the original that you can spot in this UD post here). I asked you guys what colours you'd like me to use for a look and decided to pick Dream On as I haven't done a greyish look in a while.

FF: Smokey Navy Arabic Make Up Look

Friday, 6 May 2016

Hey guys!

This week I thought I'd get down to doing a smokey look as it's been a while..  and thought I'd jazz it up by using my newest lenses (Solotica Hidrocor Avela) and an Arabic style eyeliner.
I uploaded a phone camera pic on Instagram (below) after a friend forced me to (I tend to keep looks under wraps until Friday's) but the response was lovely so I'm glad I did post it raw from my phone!

FF: Naked Palette Brown-Gold Make Up Look

Friday, 22 April 2016

Hi my loves!

This post features an old but much used palette: the original Urban Decay Naked Palette.
I have to say out of all three palettes this one is still my favourite (you can read my recommendations/thoughts on the three palettes here).

Anastasia Beverly Hills World Traveler Smokey Make Up Look with NYX Lip Lingeries

Friday, 1 April 2016

Hello my lovelies!

I fancied going for a smokey look as it feels like it's been a while and of course I couldn't help myself and had to incorporate neutrals/brown into it (my hands/eyes are just drawn to neutrals these days, can't help it!).
I decided to use my untouched Anastasia Beverly Hills Shadow Couture World Traveler palette and decided to pair it with (shock, horror) nude lips - the new NYX Lip Lingeries.
