Birthdays aren't so bad after all!!!

When you get to be my age birthday's are not necessarily something to look forward too. Unless you have an incredible husband like mine. Thanks Ryan for making this weekend so GREAT!!! Ryan surprised me with tickets to the Brad Paisley concert in Vegas. The concert, the food and best of all the company made it the best birthday ever. I have pictures, really good pictures in fact but since I am a little technically challenged I can't get them off of my camera. I will try again tomorrow but I didn't want today to go by without thanking Ryan. I love ya babe!!

(Thanks also to my kids, my family & friends who are making today Awesome too!!!)

A Christmas Tradition!!!

Aunt Amy started this fun tradition when the kids were just little and they look forward to it every year. Today was Gingerbread house day so all the Hansen grandkids gathered together to decorate. (They also ate a lot of candy and a lot of frosting). Ryan was teasing Shalece that she was too old to go but with Chantyl still there (at 22) he didn't have much to go on.

Jaxton wanted me to take a picture every time he put on a new piece of candy!!

Shae discovered fun dip grass!!!

Surprise, Surprise-- Broc's candy has already started to disappear

Britnee's gingerbread house got named "The Nightmare before Christmas"

THANKS AMY for the memories year after year.

Random Fall Fun

I love FALL it is one of my favorite times of year.

Fall Sports

Britnee played Lacrosse for her 1st year this fall and she loved it. She was an awesome goalie and all around player. She also loved that Shalece was one of her coaches.
Shaelyn played fall lacrosse too. The Super 7's league up in Sandy. I am sorry to say that I didn't get a single picture. Her games were so late at night and sooooo cold that I stayed wrapped in a blanket and forgot to take pictures. (Even though the camera was with me). She played as goalie all season with the skyline lacrosse team. She was pretty amazing for a rookie. I'm sure we will see great things with the high school lacrosse team this spring.
Raising money for Cooperstown at Firehouse car wash

Broc receiving his Limp the Biscuit award at the Labor Day Tournament.

It was a hard fall for Broc as far as sports are concerned. He had an injury at football practice and was out for the entire season. Not only did he miss football which he loves but he also missed alot of fall baseball. Broc did cheer them on at the Labor Day tournament and played a few fall baseball games but I am happy to say that it is finally healed and I'm excited for basketball or whatever is next.
Labor Day Champions!!!!
Way to go Tigers.

School Begins......

Can you believe it Shalece is a college student at UVU. She is majoring in communications. She serves on the UVU service council. She has homework and soooo many plans we rarely see her but she is loving her college experience.

Britnee is in 5th Grade and her BFF is still Sadie. The crossing guard calls them the twins every day because they have the same backpacks and sometimes even dress exactly the same. Britnee still keeps us laughing every single day!!!

Broc is ruling the Elementary in 6th Grade. He has a great teacher(she even let him sit on the couch and put his foot up when he was injured) and some of his best friends in his class. He is on the student council and gets to do some fun stuff with that. He is glad to be enjoying recess again now that he doesn't have to wear a boot or brace on his ankle.

and Shae started High School (10th)! I'm not sure I am ready for this but she definitely is. She loves everything about high school from the classes to lunch, friends, boyfriends, parties, football games, dances , and lacrosse!!!
The other thing I love about fall are the beautiful colors of the leaves as the seasons change. And the nice cool weather. I love reflecting this time of year on all the things I am thankful for and spending time with family.

More Family Fun at Flaming Gorge

Flaming Gorge with the Hansen's is always an adventure and this year was no exception. It started off late Wednesday night when an big white owl flew into the windshield of our Yukon. (we also hit a jack rabbit but that was nothing after the owl). Next day the boat stops right after we put in in the lake, well not right after that would have been easy but it stops after it has gone for a while and we have to try and get it back to the truck. (Mike saved it from the rocks). So now we have a lot of us there and only 2 jet skis. Thank goodness the kids love all the other stuff- cliff jumping, swimming, rock jumping, looking for lizards, playing on the beach, fishing, riding bikes, playing games, exploring etc.

Ryan on a rock!

Ryan & the other brother in laws decided Friday to take all the kids down the Green River. It was going a little faster than previous years and they were up to a little adventure. If you ask the kids there was kind of a power struggle between Mike & Ryan (go left, no go right). Instead they ended up going straight into the rock in the middle of the river and getting the raft stuck. Thank goodness everyone was ok. But everyone did have to bail off the raft (some made it on the rock) others floating down stream, water bottles, treats and shoes went everywhere.

Grandma enjoying the bikes.

Shae & Corbin

Shalece relaxing in the hammock!!!

Thanks to Josh & Chantyl we had a boat on Saturday and were able to enjoy all of the water fun.

As always it was a memorable trip- how many tickets can you get on a single camping trip- well we broke the record with 8. Ryan learned NOT to come home thru Wyoming and YES they really do give parking tickets to jet skiis. And Creed you just shouldn't be on the road!! And we can't forget the rain-- but did the kids have fun- you better believe it, they already can't wait until next year.
