Soul Cake: Collab with Sugar Moon Designs

A soul cake, a soul cake, please good missus, a soul cake. An apple, a pear, a plum or a cherry, any good thing that makes us all merry.
When we started this collab kit, we were inspired by the song Soul Cake which we found on a Christmas album by Sting. It's about kids going 'soul caking', a kind of early days trick-or-teating. This was probably done around November 2nd (known as All Souls Day), but might be done more towards Christmas as well. We made it more Christmas-ish, so it can be used for those pics, but also for photos of Christmas carolers or a choir. Soul Cake is a collaboration kit between Sugar Moon Designs and Designs by Romajo.

Coming soon to @WLS

Coming on September 1st there will be a new XOXO Collab. Dedicated to all kids that had to go back to school all around the globe, this kit is all about learning and growing. The best part in this kit is that all subjects you might have at school (from reading to maths, from history to science, from pre-k to high shool) is covered in this huge collab! Just keep an eye on the WLS-newsletter as well, because it will have an alpha made by me as a freebie!

On September 1st there will also be the new Lovely Challenges posted on the WLS-forum. This month I'll be hosting the Use It or Lose It challenge. That means you have to make a new and unique page with all papers and elements in the minikit provided. Once you are done, you have to post your page in the gallery and in the appropriate thread. If you do that before the end of the month, you'll get the full kit completely free! The full kit will be released on September 4th.

Forever Young: XOXO Collab

Forever young, who wants to be forever young?
Do you really want to live forever.... forever?

Who doesn't know these famous words? When I was young(er) we used to have a commercial with this song where an old Beagle (dog) was looking at a pic/movie of himself while younger. I don't know what the commercial was about, but I know I loved that dog!
But even with this cute memory, when I heard the theme for this month's XOXO Collab I was more inspired by Peter Pan and Tinkerbell flying to Neverland where they never had to grow up. So you see that fairy and pirate in the preview? Tey are by me! ;)

Ice Cream Social Event

Happy New Year: on to a new adventure

Gelukkig Nieuwjaar! En een nieuw jaar geeft nieuwe kansen. Dat geldt zeker voor mijn shop. Op 5 januari 2015 zal mijn huidige shop sluiten. Tot die tijd is alles in de opruiming, dus wees er snel bij als je nog iets wil hebben! Er zijn maar een aantal kits die mee mogen op mijn nieuwe avontuur. Want... op 9 januari 2015 open ik een nieuwe shop, bij With Love Studio! Volgende week meer daar over, inclusief een nieuwe mega release!

Happy New Year! And a new year gives nieuw chances. That's for sure for my shop. On January 5th, 2015 I'll be closing my current shop for good. Untill then you can get some great discounts, but you have to be quick. There are only a few kits that will join me in my new adventure. Because... on January 9th, 2015 I'll be opening a new shop at With Love Studio. Next week I'll tell you more about it, including a new mega release!

This is a sneak peek of the new kit coming to With Love Studio next week. The kit alone is huge, but there will be some add-ons as well. So stay tuned.

One of the first things I did for With Love Studio was creating a minikit as the newsletter freebie. Every week a new piece is available in the WLS-newsletter. If you aren't signed up yet, you better do. This minikit coordinates with my big, new release. And you can also join in the challenge I'll be hosting this month. All you have to do is creating a page using the freebie. And joining in the challenge earns you Love Points and those points will be tallied and will earn you a Gift Certificate! So it's worth to take a look at the other challenges as well.

A second thing I did, was joining in this month's XOXO Collab. A few designers have to team up to create a few papers and elements as a collab. This month we had a lovely color palette and a general theme: Noteworthy. And this kit is so versatile and can be used for so many different themes and subjects. I've scrapped with it myself and used it for something tropical and even for a certain coke brand. I've seen other layouts as well ranging from 'remember this' to school pics. And the best thing: the first week of January it's 30% off. On the WLS facebook page you can find a coordinating freebie as well!

Santa's Sleigh, my first collab!

Vandaag is de start (in Amerika) van het kerstseizoen: Black Friday. De shops zijn megavol met koopjesjagers. Maar bij With Love Studio is het ook de start van een jaarlijks evenement: Santa's Sleigh. De designers maken per 2 of 3 een kit en die gaan allemaal in 1 grote grab bag. Met deze kits kan je dan ook weer mee doen aan allerlei uitdagingen. Groot was de verrassing toen ik gevraagd werd om ook mee te doen. Ik werd gekoppeld aan FranB Designs en Kelsey Inspired Designs (KISS). Samen hebben we de kit Baking Spirits Bright gemaakt, met daarbij een recipe card challenge. Het leukste van die evenement: hoe eerder je de grab bag koopt, hoe goedkoper. En na een maand van challenges maak je ook nog eens kans op mooie prijzen. Dus check snel hier!

Today is the start of the Holiday Season (in America): Black Friday. The shops are jampacked with those chasing some good discounts. But at With Love Studio it is also the start of an annual event: Santa's Sleigh. The designers teamed up with 2 or 3 to create a scrapkit. Those kits go into a grab bag. With those kits you can join in al sorts of challenges. Big was my surprise when I got asked to join in as well. I teamed up with FranB Designs and Kelsey Inspired Designs (KISS). Together we created the kit Baking Spirits Bright, and with it comes a recipe card challenge. And the best part of this event: the earlier you buy it, the cheaper it is. MouseScrappers Bloghop

Afgelopen maand heb ik weer mee gedaan aan de Designer Challenge van MouseScrappers. Deze keer kregen we een thema: Outer Space. Hierbij dacht ik meteen aan het reizen tussen de sterren (er zijn tenslotte meerdere attracties in Disneyland waarbij dat gebeurd. Daarnaast is het ook bruikbaar voor avond foto's). Vandaag is de reveal van de nieuwe kits. Alle inzendingen zullen ook verkocht gaan worden in de MouseScrappers Shop. Dus ook als je niet hebt meegedaan, kan je alle kitjes als een collab kopen.

Last month I joined again in the Designer Challenge at MouseScrappers. This we got a theme: Outer Sapce. I had to think about travelling beyond the stars (there are more rides In any Disneyl parc that have that as theme. Besides it's also useful for nighttime photos). Today is the reveal of all the kits. All submissions will be sold in the MouseScrappers shop. So even if you didn't participate, you still can get it all in one collab.

To go with the reveal of the collab, there is also a bloghop.
I am offering you a set with wordart to go with my part of the collab, and it goes well with my release tomorrow as well.

Stand By Me, Charity Collab

If any of you were following the story about (QueenWild, designer at Scraps-'n-Pieces) Lahni's husband John when he was electrocuted on the job last month you will already know this story.  For those of you that haven't heard here is the story.

On Wednesday October 23rd, John was working in Banff. He was up in the bucket, working with streat lights and received an electric shock. He was taken to the hospital via STARS air ambulance. He was put into a medically induced coma for 24 hours as he had been without oxygen for 5-15 minutes and the hypothermic state was to help minimize the possible brain damage.  He is expected to make a full recovery and is out of the hospital and back home with his family at this time.

We came together as designers here and from some other stores to show our support for Lahni and John by making this kit to help raise some money for their lodging and food while John was in the hospital and to help with donations to STARS - the air ambulance that most probably saved John's life.
