First Up -- Something Old
After finishing Mary Allen 1818, I deciced that I needed to get back to work on my Celtic Wallace and Robertson Sampler by Darleen O' Steen. I have finished part one (Wallace) and working towards getting the second part (Robertson) finished by the end of the year. I am waiting until all of the stitiching is complete before filling in all of the metallic thread areas.
I am really liking this sampler because it is a challenge with all of the queen stitches. As most of my stitching friends know, queen stitches are (or were) one of my least favorite stitches. But now that I have the hang of working them they are not too bad. Now if I could only get the hang of doing detached buttonhole I will be able to get back to some samplers that I really want to start and complete.
Something New --
In my last post I stated that I was going to start Scarlet Letter's IRS 1763. Well I did start the sampler but after working on it for a couple of weeks I decided I just did not like the color pallete. The colors just were not as bold as I thought they would be -- more muted and pastel. So after consulting with my friend Cozy Egg, I decided to put it aside and work on changing some of the colors. I might just replace some of the colors I am not happy with instead of starting all over. Once I decide I will let everyone know the outcome.
So, after putting it aside I decided that I still wanted to work on an older reproduction so I started BB 1699 by The Essamplaire. I have done a couple of samplers in the this style. The kit came with a 30-ct linen which I have replaced with the a 40-ct Lakeside Navy Bean using the silk threads in the kit.
Thank you once again for stopping by my little blog and leaving your kind comments.

On Saturday, September 17 I attended a finishing class for my Patrick Woods Spot In the Mountains. During the class I was able to get the pocket sewn together but still need to attach the binding. Once this is completed I will post a picture.Thank you once again for stopping by my little blog and leaving your kind comments.

After reading this post I think I need to look up some of those stitches you spoke of.

Celtic design is very bright and colorful! A new process is gentle and pleasant! I look forward to the continuation!
