Finished Adam and Eve by City Stitcher

Hello fellow stitching friends.

I meet my goal for March - to finish City Stitcher's Adam and Eve..  Last stitches put in around 10:30pm CST on 31 March.  I was determined to get this one done. This was a fun and quick stitch.  Not as large as some of the samplers that I have worked on in the past months.

Worked on 40-ct Examplar Lakeside Linen with HDF silks

I am now working on Francis Eden by Handwork. It was hard to resist this one after seeing the finish by Margaret and the start by Nicole. These two ladies are big enablers. I am currently in the middle of traveling to Tasmania, Australia so you will have to wait for a progress picture. I did start this in the lower left hand corner. Hard to resist that house with the angels on it.  I will post a picture once I make a little bit more process. Have a great weekend.

Beautiful sampler! I am wondering if I have that somewhere, because after seeing yours, I definitely want to stitch this one. Have fun on your trip!

Congrats on making the goal!! Fun to make those for yourself. This is a great pattern, one in the 'to do' pile for sure. Love it!!! Looking forward to seeing progress pics when you get back-- safe travels.

Congratulations on finishing another gorgeous A&E sampler. I completed Frances Eden earlier this year. It's a wonderful stitch. I hope you enjoy stitching it as much as I did.

What a beautiful finish! This one is on my todo list for sure! I don't blame you for starting in the lower left with Frances Eden. I made my way down there pronto when I stitched it. lol!

Just found your blog and enjoyed looking at your beautiful stitching. City Stitcher's A&E is beautiful...is it in SANQ magazine? I've seen it but know I haven't bought it. It is beautiful.
I am encouraged by your Jane Atkinson in that you used dmc on 40ct as I'm doing..just started, but dreading the over one part too.
Gonna' follow you around for awhile :)

THAT is a gorgeous piece!! most of the A&E samplers don't really call to me - but this one, I really like!! Nicely done!

Woohoo! I knew you could get it done! Gorgeous. I keep kicking myself for not buying this pattern before it was OOP. I don't blame you for starting Frances either - I've been trying to resist her since Margaret started hers. She's just so pretty!!! Can't wait to see your progress. Have a safe trip!

fantastic finish. Have to ask -- did you have trouble reading the graph? I have this chart and simply can't distinguish some of the symbols! But your finish is stunning! Thanks for sharing. I may just pull mine out again. :)

Back in the Game!

Once again I have been away from my blog for way too long.  I get caught up in a lot of other things rather than posting pics of starts and finishes. These last couple of months have gone by way too fast. I have received a couple of messages from some followers making sure I was okay and looking forward to an update. I do have a few finishes and will spread these out over the next couple of weeks. First up is one that had been in the WIP pile for a long time -- Not For Us Alone from Amy Mitten.  Amy taught this piece at the Tudor Rose Sampler Guild back in the early 2000's (I cannot remember the date/year that I took the class). A friend of mine took the class with me and she had finished hers a long time ago. Mary Allen 1818 Finished!

Once again I must thank all of you for your kind words and comments on my blog. I have meet some wonderful people in this venture who share the same passion for needlework. I was really surprised when I went to compose my blog post today and noticed that I have 199 followers. I will put something together for a little drawing so please stay posted. We finally have some decent weather in Texas (no +100F days since we had a cool front that moved into the area last night). Our high temperature for the day was only 81F and expected to get down into the low 60s overnight.  I could get use to this but we are expected to get back into the lower 90's by the end of the week.  But it is still try (no measureable rain received or expected) leaving us still in a severe drought situation. So we are still praying for rain. My goal was to finish Sampler's Rembered Mary Allen 1818 by Labor Day and I put the last stitches in on Saturday, September 3. ...

Back in the Saddle!

Hello to all my fellow stitchers/bloggers and thank you for stopping by! I cannot believe that it has been over 2 months since my last post. Where does the time go? I have been away from the blogging world due to some unforeseen health issues. I have posted a brief summary and update at the end of this blog if you are interested. As stated in my last post, I lost a little bit of my mojo in the stitching realm. I could not focus on any of my projects. I decided to focus on the Mexican Schoolgirl Practice Sampler c1830 by Samplers Remembered . This one had some bright colors and different motifs which at least made me feel like I was making some progress. Worked on 40-ct Porcelain Lakeside Linen using DMC and the recommended Waterlilies. After this was completed I decided to start Sarah Elizabeth Brooke’s 1842 by The Scarlet House . This was a very fun stitch and kept me occupied during my recovery from surgery.
