I love seeing the flowers bloom! Especially the ones that I planted in the fall--there is just something magical about it. 
And then there are these......weeds! Today, April 8. I have officially began the first Battle of the War for 2008. I chose my first weapon of destruction and sprayed until my hand was cramped and in pain. I am determined to beat these weeds. 
Enemy #2 THERE BACK! I still need a weapon, but I am watching their moves. They may have beat me last year, but this year I will be prepared! No more hornet nests in my garden, no more hornets nesting in the electrical box. I will WIN! You HAVE BEEN WARNED!
The trap may be empty today, but if the other posts about my kids aren't exciting enough for you then come back for an update on the hornet trap. I stopped counting last summer after 80....

As I reread my blog today, I begin to wonder if the Round-up fumes I inhaled had an influence on my writing that day.
I can't believe you had over 80 hornets last year! Yikes!! I love yard chemicals. I got rid of our fire ants - and our crabgrass (for now) with those lovely things. Good luck! :)
The joys of home ownership! I definitely do not look forward to yard work. I guess I will have to make Sam do it.
