Let's get those needles clicking!
Let's knit a mass of squares!
Let's cover-up the armaments!
Let's catch them unawares!
Make sure the colour's pink, my dears,
That special 'girlie' hue!
We're half of the world! Let's show them
What half of the world can do!
What a great world this would be
If everyone disarmed,
If all the war-lords took a pill
And, suddenly, were calmed!
What a great world this would be
If everyone disarmed,
If all the war-lords took a pill
And, suddenly, were calmed!
Let's making the firearms useless!
Let's tangle-up their schemes!

BECALMED
Early morning; not a breath of wind.
Other craft looming, reflecting, motionless.
It will be a hot, blue, buoyant day!

I like these, R.R. You are right about the women being the calm (peace) lovers. In my poem a woman was the precipitator of calm also. Pink covers for our tanks? :) It might work.
I can see the quiet on the water. It too is very peaceful.
Thank you.

What a striking photo! It provides such a contrast, both literally and figuratively. Your first poem had such an impact, and the second one was very soothing. Great takes on the prompt!
Yes, it takes women to make peace! What are we thinking, always voting men into power? Let women rule the world and there would be no more wars. Great job!
An evocative moment well caught by both Gerald
Gee and yourself!
Wonderful post - I'm knitting pink - just in case. The image and the words of the second poem are both exquisite!
Only what can be dreamed of, is able to become a reality.
Please have a good new week.
