House With Porch

This is an older stamp I have, and it was always a favorite.

I probably have it on blog before but those times my hubby colored the stamp. I know he did a better job coloring  it that I have...but he keeps telling me the only way I'll learn is to keep trying.  This was colored with copics.  The stamp is from Impression Obsession.

Thank you for visiting my blog today.

Sunflowers

I finally made a new card.  It feels good to finally do that.

I made this card for the Twisted sister Challenge at Split Coast Stampers.  The challenge was to make a card with Sunflowers'

I went hunting for a stamp with sunflowers and didn't fine one right away...    But I remember that I had a 3-D sheet created by Penny  Wessenauer.  It was dated that she made up the sheet in 2005.

Don't know what took me so long...smile.  It might be because I don't do many of those because of the fussy cutting is hard on my arm.

But I do like the technique.

Thank you for visiting my blog today.

Still going down memory Lane

I think I'm finally done with my going down memory lane with my cards.
I managed to get a lot of card ideas.  Now I just have to sit down and make some cards.
The above card is book card.  I only made two of these cards.  I have to admit that I did struggle with these.

This is the inside of the book card.  I found the directions on how to do this at Split Coast  stampers.

This is a card I made with dies.  I made this card for a favorite cousin and his wife when they purchased a new home.  My cousin David was like my little brother growling up. I remember that he really liked this card when I handed it to him when we went to visit his house for the first time.  Sadly, I lost my Cousin this past year.  But the card reminded me to send another card to his wife.
This card was made with washi tape.  I liked this card technique and again it reminded me to make another card with washi tape.

I made this card for my granddaughter's' birthday.  I can['t remember what it's called.  Obviously my granddaughter likes to bake.  I tried this card technique once...and I don[t think I['m going to try it again..

This is another card I like to make.  Side step cards. I made quite a few of these.,

Thank you for visiting my blog today.  Where I live it is snowing, (and very cold out today)  So today I am going to stay hone and make cards. (so I finally have some new cards to post.
Hugs,
Jill

(Cards made in 2019

I know here we go again cards previously posted!.

As I said before,  I am having fun with this.

I had forgotten that I had even made some of these cards.

This a card techniques is one  that I hope to do this week.

I made several of these cards after watching a video on

Jennifer McGuire's  website.  She was showing how to use Distress Oxide inks for backgrounds.

Back when I was still beading...  (hope to get back to it again)

I would sometimes send a bracelet along with my card as a memory  bracelet.

2018 was the year that I had fun making Twist and fold cards.  I counted on my blog that I had made at least 8 of them.  I was enjoying making them...but I did find them  bit time consuming.  (no I never did buy the die you could buy that would cut out all the pieces for you.  Would have made it so much easier, but It wasn't in my budget!..

There is instructions on how to do them in the tutorial section at Split coast Stampers.

This is another card technique that I like doing.

Inlay.  I actually put all those little pieces in the tea pot with  tweezers.

Thank you, Jules for the comment you made on my blog.

Jules said that it's good to go back and look at things you have made in the past...because it helps you to remember some of the things that in your craft room that you have NOT used for while.  It is probably not her exact words.  (but I found them to be very profound)  And It also gives me a legitimate  reason for my craziness right now...smile.

Thank you for stopping by my blog.

Blessings,

Jill

Cards from 2017)

I'm still going down Memory Lane

I honestly had not planned on going on this long on my blog reposting old cards.

But I'm finding it to be kind of fun, and giving me some inspiration I needed.

The above card is a Pull out Panel card.

The instructions for making this card can be found at Split Coast Stampers.

The card below is the inside of the same card.

This card was made using a borrowed stamp.  I like that picture that my hubby colored.  I wish I had that stamp again to make another card.

I named this card "Squirrel with Measles .
Another card done with my favorite card fold.  Iris Folding.

This card was made using a die from Heart felt creations.  I posted a card a few days ago using this same die.  I really like it and want to use it again.  But a search in my craft room has still not helped me to locate it.

I remember that this card was difficult to take a photograph of it.  I used gold reflective paper.

and I used Turquoises embossing glitter to make this card.

Again, Thank you for going down memory lane with me.

I promise the soon I will posting new cards.

Hope everyone had a nice weekend.

Blessings,

Jill

Cars from 2016)

I was stuck trying to figure out what card to make for my Grandson for his college graduation...and then I remembered that I had these stickers.  I may have gotten carried away with using them...smile   This card is also a reminder to me to get those unused stickers out again.

I made this card for my husband's birthday.  It reminded me of our One day vacation at a B & B in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, USA.

It's also to remind me to do some more cards using sponges.  I'm not very good at  using the sponges...  But still I think they are a lot of fun to us.

I made this card using Graphic 45 paper.  I really like the look of Their paper.  But... I keep forgetting to get it out of the bottom drawer in my craft room.

I came across this picture I took of my daughter's dog, Trixie.  I had a dog as a child, my daughter did too.  I really like dogs...but I'm not as much of a fan of cats...because I am allergic to some of them.  (more info than you probably wanted to know).  Poor Trixie, she obviously did not like her rain coat.

Of all the dogs in our family...this one was my favorite she was the cuddliest and sweetest one of all.  My daughter lost her three years ago and we ALL miss her still. Sorry to end today's memory cards and pictures on a sad note.

Thank you for for going down memory lane with me again.

Blessings,

Jill

More going down Memory lane..(2015

This is  a picture of a box lid that I decorated  for my sister  I can't remember what gift that I put in the box but I remember she liked the picture on the box,  I know a lot of you have cats thought might like the cute picture.

This side step card jumped out at me, because of the beads.
Back when I was making cards during this year...I was also trying to learn how to bead.

I made this card for the lady that had been my Mother's best friend for over 60 years. She loved the card! But when she took it out of the envelope ...she said to me.  "I was hoping you didn't sign it.")  She wanted to give it to her cousin.  I told her I would fix it for her so she could.  I know that sounds strange...but I definitely took it as a compliment.

I only tried this technique one time.   I liked the look.  I added  it here so I  could remember to try it again.  On my original post I put the link to where I found the instructions but the link was not any good anymore. It looks like it's Just scoring and sponging.

Here is another card I hope to make again.  I loved the bright colors on it.  I read my notes under Neath the card.  And the flowers were from a 3D sheet that I purchased at a craft show.  Disappointing but maybe I can some how find flower stamps in my stash of craft stuff to do something similar!

This card is a reminder of something else I used to like to do.  Use embossing paste!  I need to check my pastes...Hopefully, they haven't all dried up...smile...

Thank you again for going down memory lane with me.

My idea was to find things that would help to inspire me with making cards again.  Hopefully, some of these techniques will inspire you too.

Blessings,

Jill

Cards posted in 2014

For anyone just looking at my blog for the first time...or if it's been a while...
I was stuck with getting inspiration to make cards again...You would think after making cards for so many years I would Not have that problem....but I do..
I have decided to go back and look at some of the old cards that I made to get inspiration.

As I am going through my blog I  see so many memories of things that happened in the past.  Like the above card when Jim and I celebrated one of our Anniversaries at one of our favorite restaurants.  Sadly, the place is not open any more.  I am grateful for all the good times (and meals) that we had there.
The backdrop of the card is a picture of the restaurant.  I used a stamp that I have used many times.  The chef was the first stamp that I ever purchased from Stampin' Up.  The Chef treated us so well that night.  He even was our private server that night and made some special things for us since it was our anniversary. I had to make a special card for him to say thank you and this was the one that I made for him.

My husband colored this card for me with Copics,

I have this card posted at Split Coast Stampers...(where I have many other cards posted)
I made this card one night very quickly.. In fact it is the quickest card that I have ever made.
I wasn't going to post it at the site because, to me, it wasn't good enough to post.
Imagine my surprise to go back and look at this card again and realize that this card is my most favorited, and most viewed card in my gallery of 766 cards.

I added this card to the list today, because it is one that I definitely want to try and make again.

The center background was made using peg stamps.  It's been a while since I used them,  I think I need to get them out again.

Thank you for being a part of my journey down memory lane.

Blessings,

Jill

Cards I posted in 2013 (some of my favorites)

This is a dahlia fold card!
It's what they call a tea bag folding card.  You can make these kinds of cards using a circles, squares, ovals, triangles, rectangles, etc.  I have made cards in the past with all of the above.  I punched out all of my circles with a punch.,,  and I still do even though now I have circle dies.  It goes quicker using a punch.

This card popped out at me...  because  I don't usually use bright colors on my cards.

This card is a center fold card, and it's  one of my favorite card folds.

This card was made using a 3-D sheet.

Thank you for going down memory lane with me.
Blessings,
Jill

Cards from 2012 (more of my favorite cards)

This is a card I made for one of my mother's best friends.  It's a center fold card.

This is a card that my husband colored for me.  It's a sugar Nellie Image.  Needless to say there kind of cards I always hand Delivered.

Another Sugar Nellie image that my Husband colored for me.

This is another card that I made for the lady that was my Mother's best friend...Carrie loves cats so I knew she would like this card.

Thank you for going down Memory lane with me.

Hope you have a great weekend.

Blessings,

Jill

2011

If you didn't get to see my two former posts... I  explained that I was having trouble sitting down and making a card.  You would think I never made a greeting card before....(In reality it probably over 2000 cards, )

So I started looking back at some of my cards that I had through the years hoping it would inspire me to get to card making again...It has worked I started making some new cards but they are ready for me to post yet.  I started posting on my blog in 2009, and posted a card from that year.  Yesterday I posted a card I made in 2010.  Then I went back through 2011.  I could NOT decide on one very favorite card for 2011...so this post will contain Many cards that I posted back in 2011..

If I Remember correctly this is call the bargello technique, I recently tried making a card with this same technique and it failed.  I guess for the new year I need to try again.

This card was made using shrink art for the Cherries for this card.  When I made this card I did not have a circle die

This card I made for Tea Pot Tuesday at Split coast...Using the Iris Folding technique... (My very favorite technique)

And Of course, I had to put a pic of my granddaughter (from many years ago)  She doesn't look happy here... Hope It's not because of the dress that I made for her.  It was the first time I made a dress with pin tucks in it.

I've been having fun looking back and remembering some of my favorite card making days.  I hope you enjoyed my pics
 from the OLDEN days.

Thank you for visiting my blog.
Blessings,
Jill

2010

Still going down Memory Lane....This was one of my favorite cards from the Year 2010.  It's an Easel card.

This card was made using a metal template where you had to go in with an exato Knife and cut each cut line by hand.

I like today's dies so much better.

I guess you might be wondering why I am posting old cards.  I seem to have lost my mo jo for making cards.  (It's probably because I'm so behind with all the kinds I need to still make.)

I thought that maybe looking at some old cards might get me into doing cards again.

Thank you for looking and thank you for going down memory lane with me.

Blessings, Jill

2009 Again

I'm still looking through my cards that I made back in 2009!

And I found this card that I had made as an Anniversary card for my daughter.  When she got married she insisted on having Teddy bears on top of her wedding cake.  I still remember the look on my mother's face when she saw the teddy bears.  (She, obviously was not pleased) I felt it was her wedding and she could to whatever she wanted.  (within reason, of Couse, Mom and Dad were paying for the wedding...Smile)

This card brought back some nice memories for me...so I wanted to re share this one.

Hope you are having a good week...

And thank you for stopping by my blog.

Blessings,

Jill
