Anniversary cards

My sister had asked me to make her another 50th Anniversary card.  I failed getting a card done in time for her.  The cards were not going well for me (Nothing new...smile) and I was feeling ill in between (nothing serious...just got out of sorts for a bit)  You know I'm not feeling that great when I don't even feel like making a card!  smile.

I came up with five different card ideas and these are two of them...still need to try and finish the other three.  I didn't put the number 50 on the cards like I originally planned to do, so I left them blank for now, so maybe I can use them for something else.

My top card was made using two Spellbinder dies...Fancy Tags Two, and Filigree Delight.  I also used Gold embossing powder, added a ribbon, and felt flowers made by Jolee's.

My second card, I tried to make it look like a bridal fan, My daughter had carried one in her wedding instead of a bridal bouquet.  I used a large oval scalloped die from Spellbinders, and a die from Heartfelt Creations, Layered Elegant Swirl HCD716.

More Nbus

Before I forget, I want to welcome some new friends...
KayM      from

Shaz  from

Jeanne  from

All of these ladies have fabulous blogs, Take a look...You will certainly enjoy visiting...

I like to make purchases at www.PaperWishes.com   I also subscribe to their newsletter where they sometimes include freebies.  The banner above on my card was one of their freebies that I printed a long time ago.  I printed it twice so I could layer it (3d it).  My twine,  Well I can't tell you what year that was purchased, and the sticker letters also are on an unused sticker sheet from a long time ago.  My sentiment was computer generated.
So you probably know by now, that this means that I can enter this post in Darnell's great NBUS challenge.  There's lots of Never before used stuff here...
To see Darnell's challenge go here...

I have also been seeing these cute little notebooks on a lot of the blogs I visit.  So I had to visit the link to see how they were made...

I don't have any PaperTrey products, (yet!)  They are on my wish list.
My names on the notebooks were stamped with stamps from Martha Stewart!  (Never used before)
and a little bird stamp...(Never used before)  and my flowers were stamped  with stamps from Rubber Stamp Tapestry (those I have used a lot before...smile)  So here's more NBUS...and I made my notebooks  for favorite crafting FRIENDS.

Craft Night

Thursday is my favorite day of the week when I am able to craft with my two favorite crafting buddies.  We've all led such busy lives lately that we haven't all been able to get together as much.  But tonight we did,
My card above is the "quick" card that I made tonight.  It's made using Peel offs (and coloring the inside of the stickers).  I stamped a sentiment from Penny Black and cut out my background with a Spellbinder die.
My dear friend, Cherie,   her blog is here

Was coloring some stamped images to make a card...

Kathi, (I forgot to get her blog link, I'll have to insert it at the bottom of my post later)...
Kathi was working on some mini scrapbooks, etc.  I love how she did the book that you see in the pic above.  a lot of the pages fold out, tags in pockets, etc.
Kathi's box card that she made for her Mother is a master piece.   I really like the colors she used.
We had a surprise crafter come tonight.  My daughter!  She has such a busy schedule that she doesn't get to come and craft with us that much.  It made the night so much more special.
This is the project that my daughter was working on, I think it's just beautiful.
You can probably guess by the subject of my daughter's cross stitch that she likes to sew.

Everyone is camera shy...so no one wanted their picture taken, but they kindly let me share their projects.

NBUS Challenge #1

Inside of card...

Darnell of djkardkreations.com is celebrating having 500 followers  by having her first challenge...
The Challenge is to use your Never before Used Stuff.  The theme is friendship anything goes...
Congrats to you, Darnell, I can understand why you have so many followers.  Your blog is always so interesting and so much fun.

The link to Darnell's challenge is here

My never-before-used-schtuff...is my image...It's from Loralie Designs.  I purchased it at a stamp show three years ago, and this is the first time it has been inked.  (hubby colored it for me with copics.
My Designer paper is by DCWV, and I believe it's the first time it's been used.
My feather die is from Spellbinders and it was also used for the first time.

Thank you for this challenge, Darnell, it's encouraging me to get out that Never-before-used=schtuff, both old and new.  And I must confess, I have a lot of stuff that fits that category.

PS. Darnell, if you are reading this post... one of the reasons I did NOT use this stamp I was having trouble thinking of a sentiment to use with it.  You are so good with that.  You helped me once before with sentiments to use with one of my stamps...Do you have any more ideas?  Thanks.

Thank you card for a friend

I made this thank you card for a friend.  I again used one of my new dies from Serendipity Stamps..Teapot Die 020GD, I also used a die for my lace trim...It's from Mftstamps, Die-namics die  Dainty Lace Border.  Just added a ribbon and some dimensionals to pop up my Teapot.

Serendipity Challenge Window Card

I made this card for this month Serendipity Challenge.  The challenge can be found here...
http://serendipitystampschallengeblog.blogspot.com/2014/06/sscb-32-create-window-card.html

My husband colored the image for me using copics...BV01, B29, Y13, YG09, W0
The stamp is Violets (Large)  I know the flowers look Blue in the photo but they are honestly a "violet" color in real life, the bow and butterfly are  Purple partly colored with a gold gel pen.
It's rainy here today, so I can't take the picture outside...the sun did come out for a very short time,
but not long enough for me to get outside and try taking a pic in the sun.

I added a Gold bead for the butterfly head, and dimensionals under my frame to pop it up. I cut out my window frame using Spellbinder's Grand Ovals.   I dry embossed my frame using an Embossing folder from Anna Griffin, and used Versamark and Ranger Fine detail Gold embossing powder to heat emboss the frame, hoping it would give it an antique look. My butterfly was punched out with a Martha Stewart punch.

Striped Butterflies...?

I never saw a "striped" butterfly, but I think they would be pretty.  Or maybe these are more like Patchwork butterflies?...

I'm just happy that I managed to finally make a card.  I feel like any creativity I have...flew away with a butterfly or something.  And why is it...that you don't notice a mistake with your card until you post it...My glue doesn't seem to have held...so it needs fixing when I'm done this post.

A few weeks ago, I was fortunate to win some stencils and dies from Bibiana's site
found here...http://stampingwithbibiana.blogspot.com/
and the card that I have posted here was using one of the dies...I just used the butterfly stencil to trace the butterflies, and then cut them out by hand.  My designer paper is Graphic 45,(cut in strips)  my sentiments are stamped with three different stamp sets..I  know one is SweetNSassy...but not sure what the other two are from.

"Love is like a butterfly.  It goes where it pleases, and it pleases wherever it goes."
