I made this card for the Twisted Sisters Challenge at Split Coast Stampers. TSC0524, Sylvia challenged us to make a card with a humor theme. I'm not good at making "funny" cards, so this is all I could come up with at the moment.
My image was stamped with an unknown stamp that was borrowed. I stamped this stamp many times because it is a favorite of mine. Hubby, aka, Jim, colored the image for me with copics.
T5, E43, E37, BG78, T2, R14, C0, B95, E25, RV63, W3, Y28, C000, C3, E34
Inside of the card reads:
The most remarkable thing about my mother is that...
for 30 years she served Nothing but left overs.
The original meal has never been found.
~Calvin Trillin
I posted this card at Split coast, and as I said there, This card reminds me of my Mother-in-law.
What a fabulous cook she was. She knew how to cook, and how to use left overs. Very creative
with her cooking. Her meals always tasted like they were from a fine restaurant.
One of my mother-in-law's favorite hints was to take her left over vegetables, etc, and put them in a freezer container, in her freezer and keep adding to it. After the container would be full, she would take it out of her freezer and put it in a big pot, and add some more broth, and make her famous Vegetable soup. Of course, it would always taste different, but it would always be good.
One day, I read to my Mother-in-law an article from a woman's magazine how another lady also did the same thing. However, that lady sent the tip to the magazine and received, I think, $100 for the idea...or maybe $50...but the point was she managed to get paid for that same exact hint, but she took the time to write it down and send it to the magazine. After that, we called it my mother-in-law's $100.00 soup recipe, (well, it could have been....LOL)
Thank you for stopping by my blog today.
Hope you have a great weekend.
Blessings,
Jill
