Christmas card from Carol

This is another beautiful "Home Made" card I received for Christmas. The card is from Carol, and her lovely creative blog can be found at the link below...
Carol, makes such lovely cards, and to have one sitting on my desk right now is a real
pleasure and privilege! The gold embossing is so beautifully done, I believe the stamp she used came from "Sweet and Sassy Stamps"
My photograph does NOT do the card justice!

Thanksgiving Flowers

We went out on Friday to see some craft shows and came back to find that this
beautiful bouquet of flowers were delivered to us. They were a gift from my sister-in-law
and Brother-in-law. They recently moved out of state and we miss them like crazy,
but I so appreciate their kindness, but I so wish we could have spent the holidays with
them like we usually would do.
The card that I made is a card that is "late" for a teapot challenge, and also "late" for a
birthday, so I hope that the recipient doesn't mind that its' late...

MMTPT116, Teapot Tuesday at Split Coast Stampers

Time for another Teapot Tuesday at Split Coast Stampers...To read about the challenge

With this particular challenge we are pretending that we are going to Disney World, in Florida, USA...
I don't want to pretend, I was to go for real!!! Smile...
I was only there one time, and it was for just a couple of hours...If you can imagine that! I didn't get to see a whole lot, but I am grateful that I did get to go there. The trip is especially meaningful to me because I got to go with my Mother. It's wonderful memories like that ....that keep me going....I am really missing her.
When I was trying to figure out what I was going to do for my card.... The Cinderella Castle, kept coming to mind. It was one of the things that stood out most in my mind.
I made my castle using Stamping Up designer paper, Blueberry crisp...I cuttlebugged it with the Tiny Mosaic embossing folder to try and make it look like cement blocks. I then sponged the edges with Su Marina Mist ink. This was fun to make but it took me just a bit longer to do than I thought it would. I guess I'm not a quick Builder! Smile
Have you been to Disney? And if you have been, what was your favorite part?
Have a great week, Jill

Birthday card for A friend

I'm giving this Autumn card to my friend, Cherie...Whose birthday was four days ago...Yes, I am late...seems like I am late for everything...In fact I was counting up how many birthdays I missed this month...and it was four...Yikes, I used to be so good with remembering birthdays...don't know what happened?

I made up the 3d image a while ago, so I'm not totally sure where I found it, but I think it was from Nikky's site. I finally made a card with it last night. At least I am now picking the right time of year (Autumn card) to give the card to someone. I used Fiskars, sunburst punch for the side lace...and an acrylic stamp for the sentiment...stamped with Momento ink.
I entered this card in Marks Finest papers

The Mouse House/Teddy Bear house

We are getting ready to do some needed repair in our home...(not looking forward to the mess)
we had a leaky roof (roof was just replaced this week) so now we can fix our ceiling...Yes the whole ceiling will probably have to come down. In anticipation of this...we need to put some of our things in storage to make room...Okay, that was probably more info than you wanted to know...smile...
Anyway, My point is...I am taking photos of some of things before we put them in storage...The Mouse house that I am showing you today was made by my father in law about 15 years ago. I saw the idea in a "Better Homes and Garden" magazine. I showed it to him and asked him if he could make it for me. I wanted it made for my grandson to play with who was 2 years old at the time. When he finished the Mouse house, he also made me some furniture for the inside...including a fire place. I actually called it the Teddy bear house, because I bought little teddy bears for him to play with the house. He played many hours with this little house. I had always hoped to finish it with wallpaper on the walls, etc...but with working full time, etc. I never got around to doing that...but oh, the possibilities! Obviously, my teenage grandchildren no longer use this doll house. But it's hard for me to let go...maybe one day I will try and decorate it for my great grand children...The outside cover was hand painted for me by my Husband's Aunt

MMTPT112 Teapot Tuesday Challenge

Here I am again, with another Teapot Tuesday challenge...the details can be found here...
http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/teapot-tuesdays-f260/mmtpt112-~-nibbles-fritz-feline-fantasy-blitz-t506575.html

This week we were to make a house warming card...for a fellow split coaster moving from
Texas to California, and obviously she is taking her two kitties along...
This challenge had me stumped, and this is the best I could come up with...
My images came from a child's coloring book, I used them for templates for my red wagon,
and my kitties,
I used the SU lattice embossing folder...added buttons for wheels,
and a bead for my wagon handle...

Birthday card

Front of card
Inside of Tunnel card

I actually made this card a while ago, but I don't think I ever posted it on my blog...
It seems to work for this time of year... Beautiful day to do yard work.
I made the card for my Mother to give to a friend of hers, and she misplaced it, so I had to make her another one to replace it. After going through her things I found the missing card. I do know she liked it, so maybe she just didn't want to send it to anyone. Some of the favorites that I made she wanted to keep.
This is a tunnel card, and since I made it a while ago, I don't remember where I found the 3d sheet.

I can't remember where I found this 3D sheet, when I do I will post the link...
It's kind of rainy and dreary where we are...but we need the rain...just hope it
holds off tomorrow long enough to get our roof done...

These flowers kind of cheered me Up today...
Hope they do you too..

Our anniversary...

I had this card on my blog before but it's a favorite image of mine...because I felt it could of been me at the age of four and my Jim at the age of 5 because that's how old we were when we met for the first time...
My Wedding dress...

They were very pretty when my husband gave them to me
Honest!!! smile
Pretend they are dried flowers...
I was reading Lynn's blog where she posted about her 30Th Wedding Anniversary...
http://lynnslovelies.blogspot.com/2010/09/30-years.html
Lynn wrote a beautiful tribute to her husband...
and it dawned on me that our Wedding anniversary was last week and I
never posted about it or showed the beautiful roses that my husband
bought for me...(of course they were PINK) I took a photo right before
I had to get rid of them...I should have remembered to take a photo
when he first gave them to me...but things have been so busy lately...
(like everyone else these days I am sure...)
this year made me a bit sentimental so I went looking for my wedding
dress that I made...and decided to show a picture of it...(and NO I cannot fit in it anymore!)
It's not my original wedding dress because we eloped (as teenagers)
and I never had an official wedding dress or a wedding photo when we were married
I have to tell you, If anyone would ask me what the biggest regret in my life was
I would have to tell them...That I don't have a wedding photo/or any photos taken
us of that year we were married!
We renewed our wedding vows a few years later, and I made a dress for that day
and our friends at church gave a little party afterwards...nice surprise.
We also renewed our wedding vows on our 25Th anniversary, and on
Marriage Encounter. I guess you can say we our REALLY MARRIED!

Ugly card

I will be really amazed if anyone looks at this card...with a title like that...
but since I have taken the time to make it.. I thought I would post it...smile
I made it for a card forum challenge...You were to make a card usingstripes, circles, and spots...the card does meet the challenge if nothing else

The circles are punched and I put sticky tape and then put glitter over it
a technique that I found at Split coast...but I think it's one that
I WILL NOT DO AGAIN!
I put eyelets on my card...it's the first time that I have used eyelets on a card...
and it was fun, I will do that again...but it seems strange to put in my card recipe
for making my card...Card stock, designer paper, ribbon, glitter, stickers, eyelets
and for techniques...punching and a HAMMER!
Considering how bad my week has been...that Hammer was a good way to
get rid of some of my frustrations! Never thought when I starting cardmaking
that I would be using a hammer!

Watering Can

Yesterday at Split coast stampers Artystamper posted a really cute card she made
with a template that she found on Waltzing Mouse Stamps website...
she also posted the link where you could find the template...
I had to give it a try...I made two cards and I'm still not happy with mine...but I will
try it again, because I do like the idea of this card, and they were are easy and fun
to make...

MMTPT110 Teapot Tuesday

It's Tuesday, and it's time for another Teapot Tuesday, Those of you who follow my blog...will probably guess by now, that it's one of my favorite challenges. I love seeing all the fancy teapots, and beautiful cards everyone is inspired to do looking at the great teapots...(and there is always so many great stories to go with the teapot...
My card was supposed to be a blue butterfly, but it just didn't go right for me, and it ended up yellow. I blame it on the cooler weather we have been having, it made me think of Autumn...smile. I stamped my butterfly in Versamark, then heat embossed in Ranger black embossing powder, I then colored my butterfly with Marvy markers. I mounted my butterfly with pop dots on a frame I hand cut with a stencil (open passee-partouts) frame EH1813.
I cut out the corners with an exacto knife and put designer paper behind the fame, and
then punched the corners with a stamping up ticket punch.

Teapot Tuesday Challenge MMTPT109

I made this card for the Teapot Tuesday Challenge at Split Coast Stampers...

Here is a link to read about the challenge...

This week we have the option of sending our cards to Eula...and if you can imagine this...
she is celebrating birthday number 108

That is something to definitely celebrate, and she deserves a big party and lots of cards...
You can probably gather from my card that Eula loves parrots and does have a parrot...

My dear husband found the parrot image for me, and I put a stitching background on my card...It's been a while since I have done that, and this "grandma, may not be doing that again in the near future...LOL. I now know why my cross-stitch books, embroidery, crewel, smocking, etc. are just taking up space in my craft room. Stitching takes a long time to do! and it is hard on my Grandma eyes. but I truly hope that Eula likes her card...
