Mahalo!

This week's color challenge over at Stamp TV is to use turquoise sea, red hot and white. Now, my Gina K cardstock collection has gotten large but unfortunately I didn't have those colors yet so I opted for some SU colors instead.

Here is what I came up with using Theresa Momber's set called Aloha:

Gina K CSS for August Challenge

It's that time and the lovely Gina K. has issued this month's CSS challenge. The challenge this month is to pick one of her Stamp TV videos and make a project using the technique. I'm so psyched I got to play this month. How cool would it be to make the CSS design team and be Gina's guest designer for August!

I picked the spotlighting technique for my card. This fabulous technique can be seen HERE. You have to check out Gina's video's they are really awesome. Even if you are familiar with the technique she shows you, I promise you will still want to watch. She does an amazing job with all the videos.

For this technique I decided to use the set called Pretty as a Peacock. I decided to use the peacock stamped in black and accent his lovely feathers.

Here is what I came up with:

here is a closeup of her feathers, I used glitter spica pens.

I used Gina K Passionate Pink paper and my green I believe was SU. The buttons are from the Gina K, I believe called Spring Mix. My pattern paper is DeLovely by Cosmo Cricket.

Well fingers crossed! Hey you never know!

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Birthday to My Sweet Angels

Today my sweet angels turn 4! I can't believe it's been four year since I welcomed 2 beautiful babies into this world. What a fabulous whirlwind that has been. They are the best little people ever!
I made this layout for the scrapbook challenge for the Gina K release on Stamp TV.

Closeup:

The images I used are by Gina K and called Dream Birds, it's a fabulous fun set. I used lots of stickles for glitter and glam.

This is a photo of my sweeties when they were ready to come home! Oh my sweet angels. They are way too cute because they call me an angel! They say "Mama you are a beautiful angel", isn't that the sweetest thing ever?

Well that's it for now. Time for some birthday fun!

Butons, Buttons, Buttons

One of the new release challenges at Gina K is to use at least 3 buttons on your card. Gotta love buttons and Gina K sells some awesome ones that coordinate with her pure luxury paper.

Here is what I came up with using the Wishes and Dreams set as well as Melanie's Inspiration Mosaic Set:

I used the Gina K pure luxury passionate pink cardstock and buttons by GKD. My pattern paper is by Stampin Up. I pieced it in Melanie's Inspiration Mosaic set.

Did you know there's a new club over at Stamp TV, we call it the "Ginaholics PLPS club"! :-) It's for all those Gina K Pure Luxury cardstock paper snobs out there! I am a self proclaimed Pure Luxury Paper Snob! If you have not tried the GKD paper yet you must! It's so super awesome, a very heavy weight cardstock that can't be beat.

Well that's all for now!

A Year of Flowers

Melanie the illustrator extraordinaire from Gina K is hosting a contest to win one of her new sets and also to have the chance to guest design for her in the March release! How can I not participate in this challenge. The challenge is to use one of her most popular and wonderful sets called A Year of Flowers. This set is one of my most used Gina K sets and it's fabulous!

This is my submission and it's also the sketch for Friday Sketchers.

Well that's it for now!

Organize it: Stamp TV Kit

From the last Gina K release I purchased the Stamp TV kit. It's the first Stamp TV kit I have. I love Gina K and do have many of her sets but had not purchased any of the kits until now.

WELL, I have to tell you these kits rock!! No joke! You get so much in it it's fabulous and well worth it! If you are new to stamping or new to Gina K it's the thing to get.

I took some pictures of mine to show you some stuff. The current kit is called organize it.
Here is everything sort of laid out a bit. You get 25 sheets of pure luxury cardstock (the best cardstock there is). Two different sizes of ribbon. Each size comes with about a yard of a different ribbon. Also included are some sateen flowers and brads. Gina K coordinates the colors with the kit being released. I think what you get in each kit is pretty standard with regards to the amount in each kit but like I said this is the first kit I got.

SO I got started on a project and I'll admit it I was going to go with one of the Stamp TV challenges this week which was to "wrap it". Of course when I got started my creation just went in a different direction, so I didn't meet all the requirements for that challenge. But I still wanted to share what I made.

Gina K has also started releasing templates and in the last release she had these cute little boxes, so I got the one called Perfect Flower Box. I had a cute little chocolate flavored candle to package so here is what I came up with using my new template and Stamp TV kit called organize it

Gina K Sketch Challenge

I wanted to share what I did with this week's Stamp TV (Gina K) sketch challenge. Here is the link to the awesome sketch.

I used the GKD set called Wishes and Dreams. This fun "fairy" set is manga drawn by Gina K's talented daughter Alicia! I love how sweet this set is. All my solids are GKD pure luxury cardstock, I used Kraft, Innocent Pink and Creme de Menthe.

I just received the Stamp TV kit called "Organize it" and I can't wait to get it inky. If you have never seen the kits I will share some photos and details of it in another post real soon! It's fabulous though!

That's it for now!

Paper Pieced Pears

This week the blast from the past challenge at Stamp TV was to pull out your nesties. It does reference a video by Gina showing how to layer your nesties. Gina always does such a great job with her videos they are must see videos regardless of your stamping experience.

Here is what I came up with:

These images are from Asela's set called Fruitful Harvest. I love paper piecing the fruit in this set. Maybe I'm just lazy and I don't want to color, no.... I think it looks pretty neat with pattern paper though. A little different and snazzy. Anyhow, I used papers by Gina K from her Pure Luxury collection. The green is a new awesome color called Creme de Menthe, the pink is the new Pink Passion. And that pattern paper is digi paper by Gina K called 100% Sweet and it is designed by Rupa. This is part of a digi paper pack that Gina has in her freebie section at Stamp TV. So generous is that lady!

That's it for now!

Be sure you didn't miss my first post today with this week's challenge with Treehouse Stamps!

Belly Bands

Ok my title sounds like I might talk about maternity clothes or something. And that is NOT the case! This week's Anything But a Card challenge at Stamp TV is to create 4 simple cards and a "belly band" to hold them together. The details can be found HERE on Stamp TV.

Here is what I came up with:

Here is a close up of the band:

And the set bundled:

I used Gina K Pure Luxury Passionate Pink and Innocent Pink colors. I used Melanie's set A Year of Flowers and Carolyn' s set Warm Winter Wishes. My embossed backgrounds is using the heart cuttlebug embossing folder. And how did I get those big hearts you ask? I used my CRICUIT finally!! Woo Hoo!

That's it for now!

Gina K Celebration Blog Hop

Melanie from Gina K. Designs is celebrating 2 years and 25 sets with GKD! Now that's alot of illustrating and her sets are awesome!! To celebrate she is hosting a fun blog hop of 25 designers who have rocked all her sets.

Everyone can join in using Mr. Linky on Melanie's blog so I had to make something to help celebrate! I used her Arranged With Love set to create a birthday card. Here is what I came up with:

Here is a close up of the rose in the upper right. I stamped and colored a second one, cut it out and adhered on the card to pop up.

I used a clear Spica pen on this rose.

Well that's it for now!

Stay tuned because I have some fun news to share next time!

Happy New Year!

I hope that everyone had a safe and happy New Years! Time to welcome 2010! And I woke up today to find out that my cable company is no longer carrying HGTV and the Food Network!! That really puts a crimp in my stamping, as I used to watch them while stamping at night. Now if they decide to pull Nick at Nite also than I'm really screwed! LOL!

I wanted to share a card I made for last week's sketch challenge at Stamp TV. Here is my creation using Gina K's Take Flight:

I used Gina K's Pure Luxury Cranberry Tart and Kraft card stock for this. Gotta love the Pure Luxury collection, the best weight paper there is. I have to admit I am not quite sure who makes the pattern papers I used, I believe Cosmo Cricket maybe. I end up with lots of scraps from all sorts of companies. I should make a resolution to come up with an organizing system for the scraps. Anyow, the colors worked wonderfully with the Gina K card stock.

That's it for now.

Happy New Year!

Stamp TV Black and White Challenge

Last week's Stamp TV's color challenge was to use black and white. Gotta love the combo, so elegant and simple.

Here is what I came up with:

I used Gina's set "Take Flight". Love love those butterflies! I stamped the butterfly once on white card stock and then again. I cut the second one out and adhered it to the top so the butterfly is "fluttering" and is popped out. My pattern paper is by DCWV.

That's it for now!

Gina K Sketch Challenge

Are you ready for Christmas? I think I am, just have to finish wrapping some gifts!

Here is what I did for this week's sketch challenge at Stamp TV. The sketch can be found HERE. I took the sketch and made an 8x8 page.

I used the stamp from Melanie's Hip to be Square set and added photos of my kids in there, along with the snowman from Carolyn King's Warm Winter Wishes set. Then I stamped the box on a piece of transparency, cut it out and placed it over the pictures to make a window look.

Here is a close up:

I added Stickles to the corners for the effect of some ice. My background paper is by Best Creations and worked perfectly for my little scene.

Blue Poinsettias

I played along with Gina K's Sketch challenge this week over at Stamp TV. I decided to use the poinsettia from Melanie's A Year of Flowers Set. I love that set and the flower!

Here is what I came up with. I decided to go blue, for something a little different. Who says they have to be red right?
My solid blue is Night of Navy by Stampin Up and the pattern papers are from a DCWV stack pack. I stamped the poinsettias with Memento Black and colored with Copic Markers. The cool clear button has a neat pattern paper underneath it but it was not coming through great in the photo.
That's it for now.

Gina K Color Challenge

This week at Stamp TV the Gina K Color Challenge is to use Red, Green and Gold. Pretty basic fun holiday colors!

I used the sets Festive Frame, and a year of flowers. The poinsettas in the middle are the ones from Melanie's set A Year of Flowers. I love how this turned out I'm thinking I should frame this one!

Here is a close up of the flowers:

That's all I have for now!

Gina K Stamp TV Blog Event

Today is the day of the Stamp TV Blog Event! Many STV members will be playing along via the Mr. Linky on Gina's blog! We had to make something using a set from the last release and I used Festive Frame. I decided not to make a card so I altered a small wooden frame I got from Michael's and created a little "decoration" for the house.

I painted the frame in a burgandy color leaving it looking slighty weathered. I used the corners of the stamp for the corners of my frame. I have to say I was not sure which way I wanted to go with the beige showing through. I didn't want to cut it all so I just went with the flow. Of course in person it looks a bit better. I used a gloss modge podge to seal it which gives it the shine.

Be sure to swing on by Gina's Blog to see who else is playing along!

Thanks for stopping by!

Fun Magnets with Gina K

I love making magnets using those little 2x2 bathroom tiles! It is so easy and they look great! Perfect for a simple gift for a hostess or to stick in the stocking this Christmas!

I wanted to share with you this beauty I made using a stamp from the A Year With Flowers set from Gina K Designs. This set was designed by the fabulous Melanie who rocks as a card designer and stamp artist.

I stamped the flower using Stazon ink in black. I did color it in using slick writer markers which I have found work great on tiles and with Stazon. Copic markers won't do too well with the Stazon ink since the alcohol in the markers will not like the solvent in the ink. Then I decided to pull out my trusty stickles! Yes I love that stuff, can't get enough of glitz and glam.

I used Christmas Red, Candy Cane and Lime Green. Of course you need patience with stickles because they take a long time to dry. I usually use mine at night and then let the piece stay overnight to dry. That works well for me since I am a night stamper anyhow.

Not too long ago Michael's had a super sale of the dollar bin items! For .40 how can I resist picking up a bunch of things hoping I will find use for them. One thing I found were these great little satin boxes perfect for holding a magnet!

Here is what it looks like inside:

Here is the top of the box with an awesome Prima flower as decoration:

I'm thinking this might make a great addition to my ETSY shop in the near future.

That's it for now!

Gina K Single Layer Challenge

When I saw one of the release party challenges this month for Gina K I think I gasped out loud! NO LAYERS! OH MY! You may have noticed I love layers! SO I had to give this a try. I think I like the simple card I came up with. May be a great way to make little card sets for gifts even.

Here is a closeup of the butterfly:

Gina K - Stamp TV challenges

I have been loving the challenges over at Stamp TV. Last week I participated in Gina's challenge called Double Duty. This challenge was to pick one Gina K set and use that to make a card as well as a layout. I picked Fruitful Harvest and used the apple from it.

Here is my layout:

Here is a close up of the apples:

Next up is the card I made using the same apple. For this one I glittered it up with stickles.

That's it for now.
