Clear & Simple Stamps Preview and Saturday Sketch Time

It's Saturday and time for another awesome sketch by Lauren Meader. Here is the sketch:

Alrighty so I "messed" with it a bit. I decided to flip this sketch on it's side for it to work for me :-) I hope Lauren doesn't mind. And yes I know I left a "piece" out of the middle. It's funny because I print the sketches so I can have them at my desk. This printed blurry for me (probably my ink needs to be replaced) but I went with what I thought I saw instead of going back to the computer to check the file. Anyhoo, here is what I came up with, I do love how it turned out though..

Queen Kat Royal Wednesday

Welcome to Queen Kat Royal Wednesday! Each week the Queen Kat Designs Royal Court particpates in a fun new challenge. This week the challenge is to use chipboard. You know you have lots of it in you stash so come on pull some out and get stamping.

For mine I made a page for a chipboard album and I also added a chipboard letter to it.

Cafe Mojo - Book of Me Challenge

Once a month at Cafe Mojo I will be hosting the Book of Me challenge. Do you keep a BOM? A scrapbook of sorts that is all about yourself? I never did but thought that this would be a good challenge for me and a nice thing to do. Perhaps my children will enjoy it someday? We'll see.

The first challenge today was to post an introduction page. Here is the page that I used:

I couldn't decide how I wanted to do this so I just started with an 8x8 page, we'll see how it goes. So come join us at Cafe Mojo for fun challenges and prizes for some of those challenges.

Mothers & Daughters Scrapbook Challenge

This week's MDC challenge was to use a sketch from Julie Bonner 52 sketches. We used last week's sketch #7.

Here is the sketch and my take on the sketch. I used a grey Bazzill sheet as my base and mounted it on black. At first I was not sure if this color scheme would work but in the end I liked it. I used awesome SEI lace paper on the side bar. On the right side I used some cool shimmery papers by SEI. I used the uniball signo white pen to add the dots along the edges and to write on the scalloped circle.

Cafe Mojo - Mocha Mojo Friday!

It's Mocha Mojo Friday! Every Friday at Cafe Mojo there is a new challenge this week it is Ribbon/Lace. What fun! Who doesn't have loads of ribbon and probably lace hanging around. Do you hoard the stuff?

I made this card the other day and it uses "paper lace" by SEI. It's really cool so I wanted to share it again for Mocha Mojo Friday! I thought it was "different".

Mothers & Daughters Creations Thursday Challenge

This week's card challenge was to use THIS awesome lace cardstock by SEI. So cool, the challenge was to "adhere" it without using glue or adhesive. I decided to use brads. I started with a white base and Regal Rose by SU. For my flowers I punched out a scalloped flower on Regal Rose and layered some SEI and Imaginisce paper. The flowers are from the Twitterpated - Flower Trails and I cut the flowers out of the paper. The "beautiful" sentiment is a stamp by Scenic Route - Charlotte Flowers.

Mojo Mocha Friday

It's Friday and that means it's Mojo Mocha Friday with the Cafe Mojo gang. This week's challenge is to pull out those border punches and make something crafty. I decided to do another layout of my little girl.

I love this photo because it shows off her big blue eyes. I decided to take advantage of this cool paper by Me & My Big Ideas. It is an 8x8 book so I just had to trim it a bit and layered it on SU Mellow Moss and a bright pink (source unknown). The cute little bird is by Clear & Simple Stamps as is the sentiment up top which I used as a title.

Queen Kat Royal Wednesday!

Welcome to Queen Kat Royal Wednesday! This week I have a fun one for you and it's to create a "scene". That's right take some stamps mix it up and create a little fun scene on your card. Here is mine:

I used the Queen Kat Get Comfy Set and Mr. Froggie. I created my scene with the Get Comfy Set and colored with my Copic markers. I added Froggie with a pop dot to "sit" in the chair. I think Mr Froggie looks quite comfy in that chair.

Scapbook Mondays with MDC

Here is a layout for our recent challenge in the PCP forum. Come join the fun! This is CSS: Take the Challenge: Let's Get Distressed. The challenge is just that to do some distressing on your project. I decided to do a layout for mine using the soon to be released set called Believe in Words 1.

I have to apologize for the poor quality. I have been having issues getting a good picture lately. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? How do you get a good picture of a layout?

Mojo Mocha Friday!

Welcome to Mojo Mocha Friday! That's right Friday's are now Mojo Mocha Fridays! Every Friday Cafe Mojo will bring you a new fun challenge. So grab a cup of joe and play with us. This week the challenge is to Papercraft the man in your life. I decided to pick my son and I made a mini coaster album.

I started with a pack of chipboard coasters that I got at a dollar spot, I believe Target. The coasters were my base. Here is a snapshot of it. I will also share the inside pages with you.

Well that's what I have so far. I am thinking of adding more pages as I go along and of course now I will start to work on one for my daughter. The backs of these pages I left blank so that I can journal on them. If you have any questions let me know.

Mothers & Daughters Thursday Challenge

Today's challenge for the Mothers & Daughters Design team was to use paper piercing. I pulled this cute little fox from Imaginisce. I paper pierced the corners of the olive green paper this fox is mounted on. I added stickles to his ears and tail. Check out that adorable pattern paper on bottom, this is also from the Twitterpatted line by Imaginisce.
