Our talk for September 2024 will is by Andrey Borodin on his Youtube Channel "Byte Relay." The talk is Walk-through of Implementing Simple Postgres Patch: From sources to CI. I picked this talk for two reasons: first, in the poll I ran in the PostgreSQL Hacker Mentoring Discord, it got almost as many votes as the talk we did this month on the query planner. Second, I wanted to have at least some content that was targeted toward newer developers.
If you're interested in participating in a discussion of this video via Zoom, you can sign up using this Google Form. Andrey Borodin has graciously agreed to be present at all of this month's sessions, so you'll have the chance to get your answers directly from the expert. I'll be there, too.
A few reminders:
1. Watch the video in advance, and then come to the Zoom call with questions and comments.
2. Sessions will be limited to 20 participants. I didn't need to turn anyone away in August, but it's possible we will get more signups this time.
3. Sessions will not be recorded.
If interested, you have until this Thursday (August 22) to sign up. I plan to send out invitations on Friday.
