Dreamcast Dreampoint Portable TV

The rare SEGA collectible that is the Dreamcast Dreampoint Casio Portable TV is a lovely little retro gadget. It also, quite obviously, is a TV.

Said TV was given (only in Japan) as a reward for collecting 10,0000 Dreampoints. It is a (for the time) high-res splash-proof little thingy, that's easily connected to a Dreamcast (or any console for that matter). This 12-ounce, 2.3-inch-screen TV offers color viewing for up to four hours on four AA batteries. It also has the capability to receive both VHF and UHF channels.

You can grab it via this Dreamcast Casio Mini TV eBay auction. Seller ships to America, Europe and Asia. It comes with the original strap, an AC Adapter, the instruction manual, the Dreamcast connection manual and some other papers/flyers.

Border Down Special Edition

Border Down by G.rev was released in 2003 and was thus one of the latest and most difficult to grab Sega Dreamcast games. It is, after all, a pretty desirable and rather fantastic arcade, horizontal shoot-'em-up with amazing graphics. As for the Border Down Special Edition, the one that comes complete with an OST CD and different cover art, you can grab it (its Japanese version) over at Play Asia. It's even rarer this one...

Sega Dreamcast RX-78

Retro Treasures reader Steve has discovered something truly amazing: one of the seventy-eight and thus extremely rare RX-78 Sega Dreamcast consoles. Yes, it's that collectible. Seller ships to N. and S. America, Europe, Asia and Australia.

US Sega Dreamcast Bundle

We are all quite aware of the fact the Sega Dreamcast is a fantastic console with an excellent games library and that's why we all care when a great Dreamcast Bundle hits eBay. This particular one features a NTSC, US version of the console, that comes with four controllers, four VMUs, the fishing rod controller, the Game Shark Lite game enhancer, all necessary cables and 14 boxed games (including gems and rarities such as Crazy Taxi, Sega Bass Fishing, Shenmue, Seaman and Virtua Tennis). Seller ships only within the US.

Rez (Dreamcast)

There are more than a few reasons for owning a Sega Dreamcast, but you'll surely agree that Rez is easily one of the chief ones. It is after all the first game that went for that synesthesia effect, a visual powerhouse, an absolutely excellent on-rails shooter, an  audio-visually stunning offering and one of the most surreal, unique and relaxing experiences ever realized. It is in short brilliant. Oh, and quite collectible too and that's why I figured everyone would be interested in grabbing one of those modestly priced Japanese Rez copies Play Asia still has in stock.

Hello Kitty Sega Dreamcast

I frankly can't understand why, but people seem to be rather interested in the relatively rare Hello Kitty version of the Sega Dreamcast. Well, taste is taste and should you care for such novelties this Hello Kitty Dreamcast auction is definitely one for you. The system on offer is a Japanese Dreamcast that comes boxed and complete with its memory pack, cables, manuals, keyboard, controller and -above all- two Hello Kitty games. Everything seems to be in excellent condition and bathed in pink. Seller ships worldwide.

Time for a SEGA Sale!

Well, it's good news for you SEGA fans, as the excellent (and rather dear) Magisterrex retro gaming e-shop is currently having a 25% off SEGA sale. Hurry and grab some excellently priced games, consoles and accessories covering everything from the Genesis and Dreamcast to the Sega CD and Saturn. Oh, yes, and the 8-bit Game Gear and Master System too.

Chu Chu Rocket SE (Dreamcast)

Chu Chu Rocket is a brilliant game and the Sega Dreamcast is a brilliant console, but I'm sure you were aware of such trivialities. So, uhm, may I interest you in a pretty fantastic special edition of Chu Chu Rocket then? It comes boxed (in a most colourful box indeed) with a lovely collectible controller and, though a Japanese NTSC release, I'm pretty sure you can get it running on any Dreamcast. Grab it over at Play Asia

Ikaruga (Dreamcast)

Ikaruga for the SEGA Dreamcast is a rare game, but I'm pretty sure this was not a result of its lack of success. Far from it really. I'm absolutely certain that things are simpler than that, and Ikaruga's rarity has something to do with the game's brilliance. People do not after all tend to sell off their dearest games, do they? And Ikaruga's brilliant shmup mechanics, jaw-dropping graphics, excellent soundtrack and two player options make it one of the best shoot-'em-ups ever released, meaning that only a handful of gamers are willing to let their copies go. As for the multitudes that would like to actually grab Ikaruga, well Play Asia does have the -always expensive- Japanese Dreamcast version of Ikaruga in stock.

Seaman (Dreamcast)

The Dreamcast did have its fair share of absolutely brilliant games, but none of them has been weirder than Seaman, the excellent, demented, voice-driven Tamagochi-inspired offering, that starred a python-esque fish with a face and managed to out-art Rez and Shenmue. You really have to give this one a try, and this particular auction of Seaman (US) seems like a great opportunity to grab the thing in a most excellent and complete condition, including the microphone, outer box and even a Sonic Adventure 2 demo disc. Seller ships only to US addresses.

Metropolis Street Racer (Dreamcast)

Metropolis Street RacerMSR, Metropolis Street Racer, for the Sega Dreamcast caused many a jaw to drop 10 years ago and, impressively, still looks great. It plays even better than that -MSR is among my five most played DC games- and you can grab it for the ridiculous price of £1.49 via rewind.
