ColecoVision & Games

The 1982 ColecoVision sold over four million units, supported 32 (!) hardware sprites, and had over 100 games published for it, yet never survived the US video games crash. Still, Coleco's machine is a wonderful and technically impressive console to collect for, and there are few better places to start from than this ColecoVision eBay auction.

The console on offer has been tested, and is working. It is also bundled with the bits you need to get it running, and 27 games (some of which are boxed). The games include Gorf, Atlantis, Pitfall!, Star Strike, and Q*Bert.

Seller ships only within the US.

ColecoVision, Expansion Module 1, 30 Games

ColecoVision, Coleco's powerful rival to the Atari 2600 and a successful 8-bit console on its own right that was essentially killed only during the videogame crash, is home to some excellent, classic games, and also a highly intriguing gaming machine. Handily, you can grab a boxed one, along with the equally boxed Expansion Module 1 and 30 games via this ColecoVision eBay auction.

The games are both for the ColecoVision and the Atari 2600, and, well, the Module 1 allows them all to be played on the console. It is after all an expansion that grants the ColecoVision Atari 2600 compatibility.

Seller ships to many places worldwide.

Shiny Boxed ColecoVision

It may not be exactly new, but the fine ColecoVision console you could buy via this ColecoVision eBay auction has never been hooked up or used and has thus been finely preserved in its original box. The only thing missing from said box is the Donkey Kong cartridge, but everything else seems to be in place. And in great condition.

Seller ships to the Americas, Europe, Asia and Australia.

The Colecovision Roller Controller

Well, the bundle is over (though work on the next one has already began) and I've even taken a couple of days off and am thus now happy to return to my retro-hunting duties. Now, to warm myself up, let me suggest you have a look at this lovely Colecovision trackball controller: the not-so-aptly named Roller Controller. The accessory is available via the ever-brilliant magisterrex.com and is can thus be shipped worldwide.

Telegames Personal Arcade

The Telegames Personal Arcade, the version of Bit Corporation's DINA 2-in-1 console that was released in the US, is a pretty rare and definitely unique gaming machine. It can play both ColecoVision and Sega SG-1000 (the Master System's daddy), was released back in 1986, sports two different cartridge ports and also looks quite nice. Happily, you can grab one via this Telegames Personal Arcade auction for a complete, boxed system. Seller ships worldwide.

The Complete Coleco Adam

When the Coleco Adam was announced in June 1983, it must have sounded like a brilliant idea: a proper 8-bit home micro that was fully compatible with the successful ColecoVision console. Well, apparently and due to some pretty weird design choices and hardware flaws, the plan just didn't work. The Adam sold poorly and eventually dragged Coleco down with it, which is frankly a shame. This is after all a unique, beautiful and rather versatile machine and -as you might have expected- a pretty rare one too. You can find out more about the Adam here, here and here.

Now, for a truly rare chance to grab a Coleco Adam computer in a fully working, tested and seemingly excellent condition, you should have a look at this Coleco Adam lot that appeared on eBay. You'll be biding on a Colecovision Adam Computer System with three disk drives, a Colecovision Smart Writer Printer, a keyboard, a modem, two cartridges (Super Action Football, Super Action Baseball), two joysticks, two paddles, a ton of floppies and game tapes, manuals, guides, CP/M, an assembler and even some dust covers. Seller ships only to US addresses.

Telegames Personal Arcade (a.k.a. DINA 2-in-1)

Telegames Personal ArcadeDINA 2-in-1The Telegames Personal Arcade, the US version of Bit Corporation's DINA 2-in-1, is an obscure and pretty rare machine. To be absolutely frank, I had never heard of the thing till Retro Treasures stalwart Ion Myke let me know of his latest eBay discovery: a boxed Telegames Personal Arcade (seller ships only to US addresses). Oh, and if you're still wondering what the console is all about, well, it can play both ColecoVision and Sega SG-1000 (most of them), was released back in 1986 and looks rather nice too.

Adam Colecovision (boxed)

Adam Colecovision boxThe Adam Colecovision (1983) was a generally intriguing, but ultimately failed attempt at turning the Colecovision console into a fully functional 8-bit home micro. Anyway. It makes for a great collector's item and is quite rare (-ish).

This boxed and almost complete (it does lack the controllers) Adam Colecovision auction, might turn out to be quite a bargain. The computer hasn't been tested, though everything looks to be in great condition. The box includes: a smartWriter (Daisy Wheel!) printer, the introductory manual; the built-in SmartWriter word processing program with its reference guide and manual; the SmartBasic manual and the SmartBasic digital data pack, Buck Rogers Planet of Zoom by SEGA Super game pack w/ manual, and all necessary cables. Seller ships only to US addresses.
