Sending Love to You

Hi friends.  Today I have gorgeous ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon, beautiful dies from Cheery Lynn Designs and pink all mixed together in one card.  You can't go wrong with  that, right!

I'm loving the open look on card fronts lately.  Isn't it cool?!  This Honeycomb frame die from Cheery Lynn Designs is great for this because the die just cuts out the holes in the design.  It does not cut a rectangular frame around the outside edge.  When you add an image to the front it also covers enough that you can add a sentiment to the inside and it won't show though the lacy card front.

My bow is a simple double-loop bow made with 5/8" Fantasy Rose Diamond Satin Ribbon created on my Bow-it-All V2.0.  Sometimes a simple classic bow is the perfect touch.

Something Special For Mom

Hello, friends of Really Reasonable Ribbon!  It's Karen Letchworth here today sharing a special gift for my Mom.  I bought her a lovely necklace on Etsy.  You can see details on my blog.  Because it's really special, I knew right away that I wanted an equally lovely box to put it in as give the necklace to her.  I started with a Kraft Box, and decorated it with lots of great products from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

I wrapped the SUPER SHABBY 2 1/2 Cotton Blend Plain Ribbon around the box, and then tied a bow (using that same ribbon) that I placed on top of the box.  I absolutely LOVE this ribbon because it can be torn to fray the edges, and can also be torn into thinner strips if you don't want the full 2 1/2 inches, so it's super versatile - like having multiple widths from one perfect trim.  To that, I added some of Really Reasonable Ribbon's GORGEOUS Mulberry Flowers, including their sweet Baby Pink Open Rose, and the Two-Tone Yellow Open Roses.  I also included a sweet 30 mm Wild Orchid Crafts Mulbery Paper Green Leave.  Under the flowers, there's a bow that's tied with the lovely Solid Mint Baker's Twine (which I think is a new favorite cuz it's SO pretty).

Perhaps you've heard me say this before, but it's SO true.....Really Reasonable Ribbon really has everything you will need to embellish all your projects.  Whether it's a card, a scrapbook page, an altered art project, or anything else; Really Reasonable Ribbon has all the perfect ribbons, laces, trims, flowers, and accents to make your art look fabulous.

Peach Valentine Box

Welcome back.  Time is going by fast and already it is my day to share some beautiful ribbons and Wild Orchid Craft flowers from Really Reasonable Ribbon.com with you.  I hope you are keeping watch each day visiting the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog to see what our fantastic designers have for you as well as participating in our challenges. 

If you have been following my blog, I am making a variety of Valentine boxes filled with chocolate and jewelry  for each of my grand children, daughters, and daughter-in-laws.  This one is called my Peach Valentine Box.

I am loving the peach and lavender colors this year and this very gorgeous coral/peach ribbon is called the Light Coral Double-Face Satin ribbon and it comes in four widths.  I used the 7/8" size but will have to make sure that I have all of the sizes of ribbon and flowers in my stock since spring is coming and coral/peach colors are gorgeous for this time of year.  The beautiful and delicate lace ribbon is the 7/8" Betsy White Crochet Lace and behind the bow is the 1 1/2" white netting.   All of the variety of  Wild Orchid Craft flowers came from Really Reasonable Ribbon. 

Really Reasonable Ribbon also sells Scor-Tape and the Zutter Bow-It-All V2 bow maker.  I used the 1.5" Scor-Tape to attach the bow onto the box.  I use this Scor-Tape to attach all of my bows since I can arrange the ribbon on the bow and move it around until I get the arrangement I want.  Afterwards, the ribbons on the bow stay in the exact place I want them.  I used the Zutter Bow-it-All V2 to make this two ribbon bow.

A Valentine For My Hunny Bunny

So have you started thinking about making Valentine's for your sweeties yet? I am the only girlie in a house filled with men, so as much as I would LOVE to make frilly, fussy, lacy, gorgeous Valentine's covered in doilies and such, there just aren't that many people I can give them to.  My guys kinda frown on receiving them. ;)  They tend to also like to receive the most simple cards, which goes against my grain, so I do my best to keep embellies to a minimum when I craft for them.  But I can't make a card without ribbons!  Just not happening!

That is when I pull out my natural fibers and trims for their cards. I'll still add a flower or two, because guys still like flowers, just usually not a whole card full of them.

It's time to get creative with your ribbon choices on those masculine cards!

Plaids, stripes, and polka dots are always great picks.  I went for the simple, but always fashionable 2 1/2" cotton ribbon as a base for my trim across the bottom of the card.  Love the frayed edges to it! :) This was topped with the gorgeous 1/2" red wrinkled ribbon that has such a fabulous texture.  It looks wonderful against that natural cotton ribbon.

A pretty carnation makes a simple accent.  Flowers similar to this one can be found in the RRR store. In fact, a brand new shipment of Wild Orchid Craft mulberry flowers has just arrived, so have fun filling up your shopping cart!  There are some I can't wait to get my crafty hands on! :)  Click on the 'new' tab at the top of the page to see all of the fun new goodies!

By the way, since I first started my blog, I have called my hubby my 'hunny bunny.' when I came across this sentiment stamp, I had to grab it!

You're a Hoot

Hey there Peeps! I'm just dropping in to share a fun and whimsical You're a Hoot frame. It's kinda silly and kinda cute : )

That sweet little bow is created with Diamond Satin Sherry Ribbon topped off with a Red Sweetheart Blossom. There's also a Red Cosmo to anchor the bottom.  This is a walk on the wild side for me and I had so much fun creating this with Really Reasonable Ribbon Trims and papers and Spectrum Noir Markers.

Because....I love you

                          Happy Monday...hope it is going well for you!  I am starting mine off sharing some projects made for RRR.   My first is a whimsical card that I used ribbon scraps on and then topped with pink feathers.  A bit over the top...and I love it.   I used plaid ribbon in black, circus dots grosgrain red, double faced satin in pink, and baby pink seam binding.   I also used jumbo leaves in parrot green and sweetheart blossoms in pink to top my lady silhouette with.                      
                          My second project all started when I found this sad and lonely chipboard piece left over from an old Tattered Angels set.   I used all kinds of old bits and bobs on this....I thought it made a cute oversize tag.  I topped it off with Plaid ribbon houndstooth in black and white along with lipstick red seam binding.   It was missing a few flowers  as well so I added some pretty open face white roses.  I don't think you can have too many for Valentines day.  Do you?  Well, enjoy my fellow creators!  Have a great week!  Hugs, cherry

A Note to my Peeps

Hi there crafty peeps!  I am back today to share a card I made with a new stamp set I purchased and ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon. 

The stamp set  used is from Fun Stampers Journey called Favorite Peeps.  I colored the chick in the egg with my Copic markers and glitter. I then created a layered focal panel with Yellow, White, and Purple cardstock and also a layer of wide patterned Washi Tape.  I then stamped the sentiment on a thin strip and adhered it to the bottom of the focal panel.  I then worked on making a 5x5 square card with White cardstock and a few JillyBean Soup patterned papers from my long hoarded stash.  I then added a sash and triple loop bow with White Glitz Ribbon.  Finally, I popped the focal panel up on the card with foam tape.  I hope you enjoy my card.  Have a great day!

Life is a Joy

Hi friends.  Today I have a very feminine card to share.  Whether it's an all occasion card or Valentine's Day card, beautiful pink ribbons and mulberry flowers from Really Reasonable Ribbon will finish it off beautifully.

I created the pretty bow using the Hot Pink Taffeta Ribbon from the January Ribbon Club Assortment on my Bow-it-All V2.0.  Although this is a double-faced ribbon, I made the bow in the same manner as my bi-color double-looped bow because I wanted the double set of tails for more fullness.

I used a grouping of gorgeous Mulberry Paper Roses and two pink Spiral Stamens from Wild Orchid Crafts to embellish below the sentiment.  I curled the stems around a needle tool to create the spirals and add a little more green to the card.  The mulberry flowers add a beautiful look and they are so quick and easy.  They are the perfect embellishment to coordinate with the frilly Fleur de Lis Boutique Stacker Frame die from Cheery Lynn Designs that makes up the lacy front of the card.

Children's Hour January Birthday Card

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  I have a fun January Birthday Card to share with you today.  I made it with some fabby Really Reasonable Ribbon and gorgeous Graphic 45 papers from the new Children's Hour Collection.  Since I have a very special auntie who is celebrating a January birthday, I wanted to make her a very special January birthday card.  So this one is for you Auntie Joyce!  I hope your birthday is as special as you are.

I picked up on the blues and golds in the January pages by accenting my card with loads of ribbon.  The belly band features one of my all time favorite ribbons: antique gold faux burlap ribbon with a wired edge. It adds wonderful texture to that gold pinstripe paper.

I wanted to add a little border on the top and bottom of this card, and found that this Antique Gold Canvas Color Band ribbon was the perfect choice.   Then I added a big poufy bow tied with soft and shimmery Old Gold 3/8" Satin with Gold Metallic Edges to add just the right amount of sparkle.  It makes me think of a glass of champagne, and what could be more perfect for a January Birthday card?  This was topped with a natural burlap string bow tied with red and antique gold burlap string.

I love to create pocket cards that I can stuff with all kinds of tags and goodies.  For this January Birthday card, I tucked in a handmade card of darling vintage buttons, a little sentiment tag and a bookmark that I topped with a sweet silver mittens charm.  I know lots of folks read books on their smart phones or Kindles, but I still like to turn the pages of a real book, and I'm betting Auntie Joyce does, too.

Here's a peeky at all the goodies that were tucked into the pocket.  I topped my tags with more of the old gold satin ribbon, but I also used a little snippet of Ivory, Rust and Gold Plaid ribbon to decorate my sentiment tag.  I hope the rich colors and beautiful textures of this card will brighten my auntie's birthday! So Very Special

One thing I can say for sure about Really Reasonable Ribbon's products is that they are "SO VERY SPECIAL".  Perhaps that's why I can't resist them. I absolutely LOVE all their wonderful patterned ribbons, laces, twines, trims, flowers and accessories.  There's just no end to the cuteness and the creativity they allow.  So, once again I pulled them out to create a sweet Birthday Card for a special little someone.

I used some patterned papers that I layered and machine stitched.  I also added lots of great stickers, a Tim Holtz journalling tag, and then embellished the card with more of Really Reasonable Ribbon's WONDERFUL ribbons to add the perfect finishing touches.  Around the chipboard gifts, I wrapped some Metallic Gold String which I think really makes your cards sparkle with happiness.  Then, I ran a length of Yellow Micro Gingham up the card, and also tied a double bow with it in the upper left section of my card.  Underneath the Yellow Micro Yellow Ribbon, I tied a sweet knot using the lovely May Arts Burlap Center Stitch in Pink.  In the center of that lovely bow, I placed a (4) brad for a Birthday Girl who is turning 4 years old.  Don't you just LOVE Really Reasonable Ribbon?  If you've never stopped by this AMAZING ribbon shop, I encourage you to stop by and do some shopping.  You will absolutely LOVE everything you see!

I'm like you, I don't care for the crowds and just being with someone I love makes Valentine's special for me! or...I love making a Valentine tea for myself when/if I'm alone. Something simple like finger sandwiches, small bites of goodies and then a lot of time after playing in my paper and ribbons creating. Heaven!!!!!!

Red Valentine Heart Box

Today is my day on the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog, to share with you one of my seven  Valentine's chocolate or jewelry boxes that I made so far using the gorgeous ribbon, tape, flowers and the fantastic Zutter Bow-it-All V2.0 bow maker from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

 
If you are following my blog, I am using different images, colors and ribbons on each Valentine's  box that I am making for each of my grandchildren.  I hope to have the tutorial on how to make the heart shaped boxes using the largest of the Cheery Lynn Heart to Heart dies on my blog this coming week.  For the Really Reasonable Ribbon challenge on January 22nd, another Valentine's box with a variety of different Wild Craft flowers, ribbons and images will be posted on my blog.



I love the red and white plaid ribbons with the 1 1/2" red netting behind the bow.  I always attach my bows with Scor-Tape.  Really Reasonable Ribbon offers a variety of Scor-Tape sizes.  I used 1 1/2" Scor-Tape for attaching most of my bows on cards and projects.  My bows are always formed using the Zutter Bow It All V2 bow maker.   The cute little hearts are from Impression Obsession-Heart Stem die, the gorgeous butterfly are from the Cheery Lynn Butterfly Set #2 and the green leaf stem is the Sue Wilson-Delicate Fronds.    The center die is the Cheery Lynn Heart To Heart set and the top and bottom of the heart shape box were cut from the largest of this die set.  I made this hat pin.

The side of this Valentine's heart box is the beautiful 5/8" Elastic Double Ruffle Red Plaid ribbon and behind it is the Sue Wilson- Scandinavian Border. 

I am using some of these boxes for jewelry and the others for chocolates for Valentine's Day.
