Dragonflies - Yup, I Love 'em!

Hi everyone.  Bonnie from Really Reasonable Ribbon here today with a fun dragonfly inspired card.

I feel like I've been in a rut with my card design lately, so I tried something different with the diagonal slant across the card.  I cut my design papers at a slant and covered the seam with 5/8" Jade Diamond Satin.  Then I wrapped some Natural Burlap Sting over that for a little extra 'something'.

Then I centered and adhered the layered image with Candi Fix Foam Dots and for that final touch, I've added a double layer bow made with my Bow-it-All V2.0 Tool along with a few snaps along the bottom.

Thanks for stopping by.

Inspiration Day with Carolyn

Hi ya peeps, hope you are all enjoying the summer weather! For my ribbon project today I decided to try my hand at a baby card.

I adore Winnie the Pooh! So many fond memories watching the movies and reading the books. For my card I added a circle with loops die cut. I then threaded the pink ribbon through the loops and added a summery green ribbon and matching button.

Seed Packet Holder

Hi RRR friends! Today I'm sharing this fun early summer card I made--it will double as a seed packet holder on the opposite side with 3 packets of fruit seeds--watermelon, cherry tomatoes and strawberries, yummy! I wanted to use up some of my ribbon scraps leftover from the May Ribbon Club Assortment. The Navy Burlap Center Stitch Ribbon goes really well with this assortment and I also added a mess of Metallic Gold String. Of course you can find all of them at the Really Reasonable Ribbon, your one stop ribbon shop!!

Thanks so much for visiting and allowing me to share my project with you! Have a wonderful and creative day!

Embossing Folder Stamping and Tell All Video by Jenn Cochran

Tell All Video as promised!  Jenn here from Jax Bean Stalks.  I am so excited to finally get this technique on film.  It is so fun and easy and if you are an owner of an abundance of embossing folders and plates (like I am), then this technique is for you!!!  It literally expands your folders into a collection of background stamps!  Take a look...hope you enjoy my tutorial.

I have used Really Reasonable Ribbons Chevron Striped Twill in Yellow because it matched the embossing folder background perfectly!  Love this ribbon because it is so easy to tie into beautiful bows!

Thanks for watching!

Miracles Can Happen Note Pad

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend and are rested and ready to do something crafty this week!  Today I have a fun and easy project to share that used lots of natural fibers and ribbons from the Really Reasonable Ribbon shop.

I have lots of these notepads that I pick up from the Dollar Store so I thought that I would create a wrap for one of them and then decorate it with some of my favorite things.  I love the colors and it was really fun to layer all the goodies.  and...  If you read on I am going to walk you through it so you can do one too.

First you are going to need these things that I have above from the RRR shop: Jute Ribbon, Cream Mesh RibbonBurlap String in Ivory, Juliet Crochet Lace, and a little bit of Ivory Tulle for the flower on the front.

You will also need brown ink, stamp, metal findings, adhesive, kraft paper, patterned paper, feathers and
a brown fine line pen to make faux stitching and a Scor-Pad of some kind to create the wrap around it.

So to start, you are going to lay the book on your 8 1/2 x 11 piece of kraft paper and create a pattern by folding and cutting the paper the way that you would like it to wrap around.  Mine has a bottom that folds up and 2 flaps that fold over each other in the front.

After i get the pattern done the way I want it, I cut and score a new piece of kraft paper that will fit perfect over the pad.  (Remember sizes will vary for this).

Next you can cut pieces of paper to cover the top and sides and glue them on your book.  Also cut pieces of the matching papers to make a flower.  I used Spellbinders Rose Creations die set for mine.

Wrap the creme mesh ribbon around the bottom and then add layers of the lace and jute to secure it.  You can also add metal embellishments too.

For the flower I gathered the ivory tulle and made a small rosette to go under my flower and also made leaves by cutting the jute ribbon and adding that under the flower too.  I think all the beautiful textures of the ribbons and natural fibers really work well together.

To finish my project I stamped the image with brown archival ink and then cut it out and added some chalk ink around the edges.  This I put over a kraft tag that I made and slid in under the wrap that I put around it and added a pretty feather and a few flowers.  And just to make it match I added a small piece of paper over the top of the paper pad to match the pretty jacket I did.

I hope you like it and have a chance to do some for maybe the teachers or friends that you want to say thanks for just being in my life :)

Have a wonderful week... Teresa

Sweet Desktop Organizer/Video

Hello everyone, Cheryl here with a desktop organizer I made for Really Reasonable Ribbon using cardboard rolls left over from work, and decorated them with Seam Binding, Lace, Buttons and flowers all from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

Sherri from my work asked me if I could use these rolls that they have left over from labels, and I said YES!  She then showed me an idea she came up with using 3 different sizes, to use as a desktop organizer.  I was thinking what an AWESOME idea, so I asked her what colors, and of course I knew already she LOVES frogs, so I went with this theme.

First I covered the rolls inside and outside with design paper and card stock.  Next I used the Really Reasonable Ribbon Gabrielle Lace, as it's so soft and pretty. I LOVE the look it gives. I ran it around the tops and bottoms of each before attaching them all together.

Next I placed some CottageCutz Grass borders and then Moss Green Seam Binding from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  In my video I show how I did this.  I used the CottageCutz Mr. Spring Peeper(frog) and colored it with Copics. Well I made him and Her.....LOL hehehehe.

All dies are from The Scrapping Cottage and are CottageCutz dies. The sweet flowers are Really Reasonable Ribbons Sweetheart Blossoms, and I used them in 3 different colors. I also used some buttons from RRR as well.

In the photo above you can see one of the Button Rosettes I made using buttons, seam binding and Sweetheart Blossom.

Video Below

Lastly I wanted to show what it look like holding a few items.  Thank you all for looking and have a super wonderful day!!

Hugs to all,
Cheryl

Masculine Inspired Father's Day or Birthday Card

Hey there Paper Peeps! I hope you are enjoying the warmer weather and longer days...I know I sure am. I'm dropping in to share a masculine inspired card that I created that would work equally well as a Father's Day or Birthday card.

I used layers of patterned papers and added a great vintage image. There's also a fun Cricut shape. The bow is created with Shimmer Black Satin Ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon.
Wishing you all a happy and productive day with lots of time to be creative : ) Ginny

Happy Birthday

Hi everyone.  Bonnie here from Really Reasonable Ribbon today with another of my 'quick to assemble' birthday cards.  I'm doing really well with 'on time' cards this year, so I'm trying to get a little ahead of the game.  You can really never have too many birthday cards ready to roll.

I just got a new long Spellbinders 'A Gilded Life' Die and it's great for weaving ribbon through.  Isn't it pretty?  I wove 5/8" Grape Checkerboard Ribbon through the holes and I added a perfect little bow to the center that I created with my Bow-it-All V2.0 Tool.  I.LOVE.THIS.TOOL!!  I use it on ALL my projects.

While I like to stamp and color images, I find that with my busy schedule, I really don't have time for that very often any more.  I like to keep lots of fun digital images on hand for a quick card.  This image is from an Etsy seller Cobra Graphics and they are actually small circles meant for jewelry making, but they are high resolution and if you have a program that you can use to enlarge them, they are great for cards too.

The birthday sentiment was made on my computer using the Simple Kind of Girl font.  It's framed by a Spellbinder Back to Basics Tag and I used a little Violet Burlap String wrapped around the sides of the card as an accent.  This fun Burlap String is available in ten great colors!

Here is a peek at the inside sentiment which is from Create with TLC.  I added just a little strip of the vertical stripe design paper to accent the bottom.

There are lots of people on Etsy selling digital graphics including two of our Design Team girls.  Be sure to check out Ginny's Polly's Paper Studio and Heather's MyArtisticAdventures Shop on Etsy for some great digi sheets, especially if you like vintage images.  They have lots of great collage sheets.

Thanks for stopping by today and enjoy your holiday weekend.  I hope you can squeeze in some crafty time!!

Soft and Serene

Hello there.  I have a handmade silk pincushion to share today.  It is actually a sachet as well because I added a bit of vanilla essential oil inside.  I started with a basic square that I sewed up and stuffed...I embellished the base with a vintage doily.  From here I wrapped it with vintage laces along with May Arts Fleur de lis Ribbon and White Seam Binding for softness.  I added a gorgeous vintage cameo brooch to the middle of the ribbons.  Then added a few homemade stick pins and images and roses from Riddersholm Designs.   Practical and pretty!   enjoy, cherry

Zutter Bow-it-All V2.0 Tutorial - Fiber Flower Embellishments

Hi everyone.  This is Bonnie from Really Reasonable Ribbon back with another fun Bow-it-All V2.0 Tutorial.  Today we are making something a little different - Fiber Flowers!

We've been making gorgeous bows with our Bow-it-All V2.0, but now I'm off to see what else I can use it for.

These gorgeous flowers are so fast and easy to make and they make a great card embellishment, pin or even a hair clip!

Here is my video tutorial.  You'll be amazed how easy and fast these great fiber flowers come together.

I used a fiber flower as an embellishment on the card below.

I also threaded some Capri Blue Satin with Grosgrain Edge Ribbon through the Spellbinders A Gilded Life Die and tied a perfect little bow with my Bow-it-All Tool.

For this fun fiber flower rosette, I made the fiber flower and created the other layers with some of the ribbons in the RRR May Ribbon Club Assortment.  I show how the rosette was created in the video above.

Not a member yet?  Why not enroll today and begin with the Vintage Patriotic themed May Assortment which contains 9 styles and a total of 17 yards of ribbon and lace.  What a fun way to build your ribbon stash!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you like the video today.

Seeing Spots & Dots!

Hello RRR friends! Today I'm sharing two different ways to make super fun hair accessories for girls, both equally easy and adorable!
Corker Bows are such fun and something any little girl would enjoy--gosh, if I wouldn't look ridiculous doing so at my age, I'd want to sport one hehe! They are very easy to make and it's so exciting when the ribbon comes out of the oven bouncing with curls! The Boutique Stacked Bow is a bit more involved but still quite simple. This was my very first one ever and I think it turned out really cute.

I added an alligator clip to the back of the stacked bow and turned the corker into a fun headband! I used Dots and Circles ribbon, White Dot Organza and Shocking Pink Checkerboard Satin for these two hair accessories--total cost of all materials, $5.47. Not bad for two darling hair accessories that go for considerably more in the marketplace. Not to mention, there is still plenty of ribbon left for other projects when you get your ribbon from RRR because it is a great value! Above all, it's something handmade with love that will make somebody feel special and loved. Here are the links to each bow tutorial I used to make mine:

Enjoy Your Life by Jenn Cochran

Hi everyone!  Jenn here from Jax Bean Stalks.  Today I have a really fun card featuring LOTS of chevron pattern!!!  It is bright and cheery and the perfect colors for a fun summery "just because" card!

I have used a chevron twill in yellow from Really Reasonable Ribbon. a sentiment from Crafter's Companion Sentimentals-Memories are Made set.  LOVE these fun quotes!!!  I put my entire card together with my Xyron Mega Runner and  High Tack Tape.  The technique I used for my background is called Embossing Folder Stamping.  It really enables you to expand your background stamps by utilizing your embossing folders to do double duty.  Please join me on May 28th for a "tell all" video tutorial on how I made this card!

I also have a giveaway of RRR on my blog, Jax Bean Stalks.

Thank you so much for joining me today.

A little shabby chic frame set

Hi everyone, it's Teresa here today and I want to share a shabby chic project I did for my crafty room.  I am doing a little remodeling with lots of shabby chic pinks and roses so I thought I would make this week's projects something to go up on the wall for inspiration as I craft and a little something to keep the little trinkets I pick up from traveling.....

So as everything starts with some kind of inspiration...I had this stamp that I got at Donna Downey's studio in North Carolina this past year and it was the perfect size to fit inside the wooden frame that I picked up and had in my stash. So with all the beautiful ribbons and flowers from Really Reasonable Ribbons it was easy to put this together quickly.  I used the WOC Cottage Roses and Baby Pink Seam Binding and just a little bit of Burlap String to really give it that old fashioned shabby chic look I wanted.

To make the hanging frame- I painted all the wooden pieces with white paint from Folk Art and then glued it on layered pieces of paper and let that dry. I stamped my image on white paper with grey ink to match the papers and then glued it on the front and added some pearls.  The ribbons and flowers I think really made it, and I attached another piece of white seam binding on the back so that I can hang it up.

Since I had my paints out I thought I would make up this box and to make it go quicker I added a few pieces of paper from Teresa Collins that matched with the flowers.  This was really quick and now I have a place to put some of the trinkets I have laying around my craft room.

That's it for today from me and I hope you like it and it inspires you to make something fun for yourself or someone special in your life.  Have a great day!

June Desk Calendar

Hello everyone, and Happy Saturday to all!
Today I am sharing another Month for the Desk Calendar I have.  For each month I have covered the chipboard piece that had its month's name on it. I used lots of Really Reasonable Ribbon on this, because I LOVE all the ribbons, and laces from RRR!

So for the June page, I covered it with Garden Party design paper from the Pebbles Line. I used all Really Reasonable Ribbon on this and some beautiful lace too from the Really Reasonable Ribbon store. I also used the beautiful sweet Sweetheart Blossoms from RRR as well.

The sweet kitty is a CottageCutz die, and is dusted and colored with Copics. I also used the CottageCutz Picket Fence Border from The Scrapping Cottage.

JUNE is done in Thickers, and those came from American Crafts. These match the Garden Party design paper perfectly!!

On the page with the tag, I left it pretty plain, and those tags come out of the pocket.  I will add 2 photos on this page. All the tags, the banner, and the ladybug came from the embellishments that match the design paper. The page with the calendar has leaf trims in Moss Green and PINK from Really Reasonable Ribbon. The borders going down the sides are from The Scrapping Cottage and are the CottageCutz Sweetheart Border. I also added some of the Sweetheart Blossoms to the vine of leaves.

This page here was added by me. I made it to fit this calendar, just by measuring the chipboard page that came with this desktop calendar set. I figured it could be replaced if I get bored with it next year. However I will keep the front page the same, as I did add more details to it. I could also just add a calendar over this one if I wanted to, so other options are available for this.
I used more flowers, and the leaf trim in Moss Green & Pink.

Now to work on another :) I will share it when done!!
Thank you for looking and have a wonderful day!

Hugs to all,
Cheryl
