  • Third trimester abortions -- Probably everything you wanted to know, including why women are having them.

  • Abortion in the 1950s -- with an emphasis on mortality, since that's the focus of the blog. Also abortion in the 1930s and the 1940s.

  • Abortion videos -- quite a collection

  • People wanted fetuses at six weeks, 18 weeks, and 20 weeks; I included information about aborting them as well.

  • Abortion deaths of all sorts

    And finally --

  • Self-induced miscarriage -- which is a conscience-salving way of saying "self-induced abortion"

    Searches: Deaths and more

  • Abortion deaths: For all the ones I know about, check out the Cemetery of Choice. If you're looking for something more specific I have the safe-n-legal deaths, anesthesia deaths, embolism deaths, septic abortion deaths, and hemorrhage deaths. I have women who died under the tender ministrations of the National Abortion Federation, or of Planned Parenthood. I have teens killed by abortion. If you're looking by time period, I have The 19th Century, 1900-1909, 1910-1919, the 1920's, the 1930's, the 1940's, the 1950's, the 1960's, the 1970's, the 1980's, the 1990's, and since 2000. If there's any other category of abortion death you're interested in, let me know.

  • Rosie Jimenez (pictured): The woman who died because the abortion lobby needed a corpse. The seventeen women who died from safe, legal abortions in 1977 died umourned by the abortion lobby. They were examples of "all surgery has risks" -- even Barbaralee Davis, who died because a member of the newly-founded National Abortion Federation sent her home with the face and spine of her unborn baby jammed into a tear in her uterus -- and thus not worth getting upset about.

  • Abortion videos: I have a collection here.

  • Clinic abortions no safer than back alley: Well, statistically, legalization had no visible impact on abortion mortality. And I know of three erstwhile criminal abortionists who waited until after legalization to start killing patients: Milan Vuitch (pictured), Jesse Ketchum, and Benjamin Munson.

  • Dr. Anthony J Lund: is one of the pervert abortionists featured in this post.

  • Life of the mother abortions: are an obsolete concept. They should have gone the way of leaching and using whiskey for anesthesia after the c-section became safe.

  • Self-induced abortion: I have information gathered here. Don't try this at home!

  • Belkis Gonzales (pictured): is the Florida abortion clinic owner in trouble for reportedly putting a live-born baby girl in a biohazard bag and tossing her onto the roof to hide the body from police.

  • Abortion songs: I have a collection here, complete with videos. A real cheery batch of ditties. Ain't abortion grand?

  • Seth Gilbertson: is one of the people who was either suckered in by the Planned Parenthood "monster CPC" hoax, or was in on it. He even added a comment when he signed their petition: "Every woman should have the ability to recieve balanced information so they can make their own decisions." Which would mean that they should speak to somebody who isn't part of Planned Parenthood.

  • Marla Cardamone (pictured): was browbeaten into an unwanted abortion by a hospital social worker. She died along with her baby.

  • Nicholas Braemer: One of the quack abortionists who worked at the seedy Clinica Medica Para la Mujer De Hoy.

  • Lysol douches: were evidently once considered healthful. Which might explain some of the "lysol abortion" stories.

  • Rapin Osathanondh: is the guy who had a hand-holder assisting in general anesthesia on Laura Hope Smith (pictured), with fatal results. Her mother, Eileen Smith, has become an outspoken proponent of the church taking a more active role in preventing abortions.

  • Nabil Ghali: The only one I know about is a pervy quack of an abortionist, whereabouts currently unknown.

    Searches: Tietze and more

  • Christopher Tietze was an abortion advocate and researcher. But I have to give credit where credit is due. Despite his rather cold-blooded enthusiasm for abortion, he was smart, honest, and forthright.

  • "Back alley abortion" is a term that describes how doctors prior to legalization let their abortion patients into their practices: through the back alley, rather than through the front door. Which was kind of stupid, since that would only raise suspicions.

  • "What does the freedom of choice act actually say? Have you ever heard the advice not to look at what somebody says, but at what the person does? Ditto for judges and politicians. Roe vs. Wade, for example, places responsibility for the abortion decision squarely on the physician, who is supposed to determine if in his best medical judgment, abortion is the best course of treatment for the patient. In practice, of course, abortion is nearly 100% self-referred, with the doctor just acting as a technician who carries out the act. If you doubt this, check out the brouhaha from abortion advocacy groups whenever states pass laws requiring an actual consultation with a physician prior to an abortion.

If you read the text of FOCA, it looks innocuous, to the point where some abortion advocates try to claim that it would prevent women from coerced abortions or from being given false information in order to get them to consent to abortions for eugenic reasons, or to protect a doctor who fears a lawsuit from a woman with medical issues. But if you look at how things actually work in practice, FOCA is another matter entirely.

  • Legal abortion in the third trimester turns out to be determined more by what the doctor is willing to do, and how much willingness there is to enforce what's on the books, than by what the law actually says.

  • Failed abortion is when the baby survives. It's not all that rare. In fact, the abortion is more likely to spare the baby than to kill the mother. This is probably part of why a live birth from an abortion is the "dreaded complication". That, and how likely it is the abortionist will get sued.

  • Uterine scarring can be caused by abortion.

  • Abortion videos: I've gathered the best abortion videos I can find right here.

  • Correlation laws abortion rates: Can somebody provide some more in-depth analysis? I've seen plenty. But the main point is that there certainly is a much stronger correlation between prolife laws and low abortion rates than there is between prochoice efforts at "prevention" and low abortion rates. Which Christopher Tietze (see above) told us long ago. As did prochoice researcher Kristin Luker. If you reduce the perceived "costs" of sexual risk-taking, either by flooding society with contraceptives or by making abortion readily available, people will have sex far more often in untenable situations, thus increasing unintended pregnancies. It's not rocket science. It's the basic law of unintended consequences.

  • Abortion methods 1950s: Planned Parenthood held a conference in 1955, noting that most illegal abortions were being done by physicians, no doubt using the same methods they'd have used in a legal practice. This would most often be dilation and curettage or a D&C. Oddly enough, the fall in abortion deaths slowed, then reversed, during the 1950s. The only thing I can think to attribute this to is a change in doctors' attitudes toward abortions: they became champions of abortion, abandoning the traditional dedication to "do no harm". But that's just my hunch.

  • Coathanger abortions is the term used to describe highly-risky self-induced abortions. They can probably be much better understood as a mental-health problem among women with a tendency to self-mutilate, rather than as some rational response to an unplanned pregnancy. Teas and "self-help" kits are more consistent with a rational decision to kill the baby at home than reaming oneself out with a rusty piece of metal, which is clearly something no rational person would engage in.

  • Self-induced deaths: The ones I could find are here. I classify as "coathanger" abortions any abortion that used a household object, even a smooth, easily sterilized one like a knitting needle. whereas "self-help" abortions are those in which the woman used materials intended for medical use or touted as appropriate for abortion by activists. Though my sample is far too tiny to draw definitive conclusions from, it does present some evidence that women had more sense than to just ream themselves out with whatever nasty, dirty, sharp piece of junk they could get their hands on.

  • Starting to smell after medical abortion: Any foul-smelling discharge after an abortion should be assessed by a physician immediately. This is just as true after a chemical abortion. Chanelle Bryant, Holly Patterson, Cherish Roe, Wanda Roe, Oriane Shevin, and Vivian Tran all die from infection after chemically-induced abortions, all in the past few years.

  • What does Obama say about abortion? He's expressed great enthusiasm for the practice, to the point of even supporting doctors who decide to finish the job if the baby survives the attempt:

  • FOCA babies left to die after post viability abortions: You don't need FOCA for that.

  • Abortion with versed: Abortionists like to administer versed because it causes amnesia; the woman can be screaming in agony, pleading for her baby's life, or otherwise wracked with pain or anguish, and she'll have no memory of it. Personally I find this to be appalling. How is deliberately allowing a patient to suffer horrible pain, and justifying it on the grounds that she won't remember it, any different from slipping her a date rape drug and figuring it's okay to have sex with her because she won't remember it?

Jennifer H. was given versed during her fatal abortion, as was Adelle Roe.

  • Trisomy 18 abortion rates: Though some doctors recommend screening for Trisomy 18 along with other problems, all I've been unable to find the rate of abortions. Be Not Afraid is a resource for women and families seeking to avoid abortion after an unfavorable prenatal diagnosis. You can read the story of Grace, whose parents were treated with bewildered contempt for wanting to give her a chance to know what it was to be held and loved for two precious months; Mari Rae, who had been living in her family's love for 17 months as of the time her mother wrote her story; Trenton, whose family was given guidance in making birth choices, not just pushed toward abortion, and who passed peacefully in the womb shortly before his due date; and Valeria, whose family was given much loving support and who got to know her family's loving caresses for her short life.

    And here is Eliot's story:

  • Punctured uterus: can happen in abortion. Ingrid Thomas, Sandra Chmiel, Maureen Espinoza, Kathleen Gilbert, Faith Roe, Gloria Small, Shirley Payne, Geneva Calton, Jane Doe of Newark, Moris Helen Herron, Amanda Roe, Julie Roe, Nadine Roe, Diane Smith, and Katherine Strong are among those who died from somebody poking a hole in their wombs during safe, legal abortions.

  • Dr. Daniel Holschauer was disciplined by the medical board for stalking a patient for sex after performing an abortion on her. Days after the abortion, he showed up at her place of employment and had unprotected intercourse with her. He was a real pill; read the whole article.

  • Miami abortion clinics: I've got some choice ones here, if you'll pardon the expression.

  • Hyperemesis abortion: There is help. You can avoid an abortion. Contact Ashli.

  • Percentage of 3 trimester abortions performed in the US: The way it's phrased, this person is looking for what percent of the world's 3rd trimester abortions are performed in the US. I can't even begin to answer that. If they're looking to know what percentage of abortions in the US are third trimester, I can at least hazard a guess, based on the CDC's 2005 Abortion Surveillance Summary. Their Table 16 shows the breakdown of abortions by gestational age. They are very careful to look at abortions after 20 weeks without breaking it down any further, so as to deny researchers access to data on third-trimester abortions. There were 8,445 reported abortions to kill babies of more than 20 weeks gestational age. Remember that the report excludes states that don't report, such as California (a major abortion state). And if you doubt that this is a deliberate attempt to squelch information, rather than just a matter of not going into that sort of detail, consider how daintily they break down abortions done up to 8 weeks. They can't claim there's a great public health need for such a breakdown, and no public health need for a breakdown of later abortions. After all, their own researchers say that every two weeks after the 16th, the risk of death doubles. So surely a breakdown of abortions after 16 weeks, at 2-week intervals, would be more important from a public health standpoint.

At any rate, 1.3% of abortions are done at 21+ weeks. Which, again, doesn't sound like many until you reflect that this is still more than eight thousand babies a year.

Supposedly only about 100 abortions a year are done in the third trimester, but The American Journal of Public Health noted 86 third-trimester abortions in Georgia in just two years. If there are 43 third-trimester abortions a year performed in Georgia alone (which reported only 5% of the nation's abortions), it's hardly possible that fully 43% of third-trimester abortions are performed in Georgia. Though Georgia's percentage of abortions after 21 weeks is 3.5%, above the 1.3% national average, it's hardly the leader in late abortions. New York, in fact, is the leader:

So Georgia performs roughly 12% of all reported abortion past 20 weeks. It's reasonable to figure that they probably perform a similar percentage of abortions past 24 weeks as well. If 43 abortions is 12% of abortions, there are about 358 third-trimester abortions annually nationwide, not 100. And this has to be low, because the last time the CDC counted, there were about 400-500 Reported live births following abortions. It's hard to believe that there are more accidental live births during post-viability abortions than there are post-viability abortions being performed.

  • Songs about abortion are here. A really cheerful bunch of ditties.

Compare songs about abortion to songs about birth, such as There Goes My Life (which I can't embed, sorry). How many of us went through those same feelings? Tough I think we know these feelings as well:

    Hm....

  • Michael J. New: the researcher who very adeptly picked apart the New York Times's slipshod reporting on the effects of parental involvement laws on teen pregnancy and abortion rates.

Two searches: Alicon Porcella, and wife-killing abortionists

  • Allison Porcella is one of the people who signed the Planned Parenthood petition, based on a hoax, attacking CPCs. She added her own comment: "By deceiving women you are making an extremely stressful situation much harder, whereas panic will set in and more women will die." Consider the women who died because they trusted abortion facilities in general, Planned Parenthood in particular. Or aren't they women? Or don't they count? And why don't we compare these deaths to the number of women who have died after trusting these prolife pregnancy centers. Count 'em: ZERO.

  • doctor abortion murder wife: We have three that I know of to choose from: John Baxter Hamilton, who bludgeoned his wife to death in the bathroom of their home on Valentine's Day; Joe Bills Reynolds, who sliced open his wife's abdomen and let her bleed to death while he was ostensibly doing a liposuction; and Malachy DeHenre, who shot his wife dead in their home. Wife-killing abortionist trifecta complete.

    Search: Gayna Uransky pictures

  • Gayna Uransky pictures: Well, I don't have pictures. But Gayna Uransky is one of the people who signed a Planned Parenthood petition, based on a hoax of lies and distortions. Gayna added the comment, "If the clinics presented both sides of this weighty question, it would be a good idea. Doesn't sound as though this is the case. Let's cut their funds." If not telling both sides justifies cutting funds, Gayna, you ought to be on the bandwagon to defund Planned Parenthood.

Come on, start with the fact that they used a hoax to get you to sign a petition. Are they really trustworthy?

They got my babysitter to consent to an abortion by falsely telling her that her 8-week fetus was just like a blood clot.

And check out the treatment these women got. Of the way these women were treated. Is this something you want to be funding?

Women have died because they trusted Planned Parenthood. Show me just one woman who has died because she trusted a CPC.

  • Abortion videos: The best of the net I've gathered here.

  • Abortion songs: Some examples here, with videos.

  • Self abortion: Two words: Dumb idea. If you're early enough in the pregnancy to carry it off with relatively low-risk abortion teas, you're still likely subjecting yourself to the risk for no reason, since you're at the stage where miscarriages are common anyway. If you weren't already in the process of having a miscarriage, taking enough of the stuff to kill the baby can kill you as well. Or you might have an undiagnosed ectopic pregnancy, and your attempts to do an abortion will delay diagnosis and appropriate care. If you're considering sticking things in your uterus, I'd give you the same two words -- Dumb idea -- but in italics, boldface, and underlined. You can poke a hole in your uterus or give yourself a nasty infection. And there is no such thing as a "natural" abortion. By definition you're doing something to thwart Mother Nature if you're trying to dislodge a fetus or embryo that your body is trying to hold on to. So go to a doctor and get some proper prenatal care.

  • Laws about abortion in the third trimester: Summed up here, with links to more information.

  • Illegal abortion: Most were performed by doctors. A small but significant minority were performed by nurses, medical students, or other people with some medical training. Even fewer were performed by people with no formal medical training, but who often had doctors providing training, equipment, drugs, and backup. Illegal abortions still happen occasionally for a variety of reasons.

    Searchs: A motley assortment

  • Deaths from illegal abortion in 2007: Sorry, but the only abortion deaths I know of for 2007 were of the safe, legal kind: Edrica Goode and Laura Hope Smith.

  • how best to abort a 5 week fetus: Don't. First of all, ambivalence and even rejection of the pregnancy are normal early on. Usually this ambivalence resolves when something happens that helps the woman to see the baby as real and alive, which used to be "quickening" (feeling the first movement) at around 16 weeks. But with ultrasounds and the ability to hear the baby's heartbeat, this bonding often takes place much earlier. Second, you're still at a period of high risk for miscarriage. So odds are that if you wait until after 12 weeks, one of two things will have happened: Either you'll have had a chance to get past the initial ambivalence and be glad you're having a baby, or the whole issue will have gone away on its own, either because you miscarried, or because you had a molar pregnancy or blighted ovum that resolved on its own, or because your pregnancy was ectopic and an abortion would have only increased your risk of dying. Give yourself time to adjust. If, after seeing the baby on ultrasound and hearing the heartbeat, you still want it dead, you can get it killed later. But you'll be doing it because you really do want the baby to die, and not just because of normal, self-limiting early pregnancy emotional turmoil.

• Dr. Arnold Bickham: Quack abortionist extraordinaire.

  • Bad abortion stories: Where do I begin? Just browse the blog. Though there are some heartbreaking ones involving teens. And how about these cases: Jammie Garcia drowned in her own feculent fluids because her abortionist had shoved her fetus into her bowl and left it there to block things up; Carolina Gutierrez (pictured) endured the amputation of her gangrenous limbs in a futile attempt to save her from abortion-related sepsis; Lawson Akpolonu was raping patients in his filthy clinic -- something Diane Sawyer considered "a non-story" when we tipped her off; abortionist James Park's method of disposing of late-term fetuses -- running them through a meat grinder -- was enough to make fellow abortionist Curts Stover lose his lunch. There are these guys -- they're pretty nasty, with the one guy doing abortions at home and tossing the mangled fetuses in the trash and so forth. We have some guys dumping fetuses down the garbage disposal. Then there's this place, where employees complained to the state that their boss was eating the fetuses. What happened to this woman during her safe and legal abortion is pretty bad. Keep coming, I've got more.

  • why doctors have to recommend abortions to save the mother: Cases (aside from tubal pregnancies, which aren't actually treated by abortion in the first place) where a doctor actually would have to recommend an abortion are so rare as to be practically non-existent. Though some will recommend abortion anyway out of ignorance, laziness, or fear of lawsuits.

  • Can't cope abortion: I don't know if this person means she can't cope after an abortion -- in which case she should get help from a post-abortion program -- or if she means she's pondering abortion because she feels she can't cope. If it's the latter, she needs to know that feelings of being unable to cope are normal in early pregnancy. But pregnancy takes a long time to progress from initial panic to the day you put the baby in the bassinette. That gives you plenty of time to pass from "I can't deal with this!" to "How did I live before you?" As Dr. Alec Bourne said, "Those who plead for an extensive relaxation of the law [against abortion] have no idea of the very many cases where a woman who, during the first three months, makes a most impassioned appeal for her pregnancy to be 'finished,' later, when the baby is born, is thankful indeed that it was not killed while still an embryo. During my long years in practice I have had many a letter of the deepest gratitude for refusing to accede to an early appeal." Give yourself time. And contact a pregnancy center for help and support.

  • What is the percent of abortions used as birth control?: Between 42% and 95%, depending on how you define it.

  • How can women die from abortion?: They bleed to death from abortions. They die from complications of the abortion anesthesia. They die from embolisms. They die from infections. Yes, they die. From abortions that are legal and therefore presumably safe.

  • How many women die from abortion? We don't know. Here's why.

  • Abortion for the life of the mother: A red herring. I've been unable to find any condition -- other than ectopic pregnancy, in which the embryo implants outside the uterus -- where abortion is a recommended treatment. Usually if abortion is recommended for maternal health reasons, it's either because the doctor is too lazy or afraid of lawsuits to provide the woman with real care, or because the doctor fears that the treatment the mother needs will harm the baby, so -- again, either out of laziness or fear of lawsuits -- he'll tell her that abortion is necessary. Yeah, it's possible that in some cases the pregnancy has to be ended, but these cases usually take place in the third trimester, when the baby can be delivered alive and then the mother provided with care.

  • How many women die from abortion? We don't know. Here's why.

  • Abortion videos: I've gathered the best here.

  • Brenda Vise died of a ruptured ectopic pregnancy after a chemical abortion at Volunteer Women's Clinic in Tennessee.

  • Women's deaths before legal abortions: Falling rapidly. Why? For a lot of reasons. All abortion deaths -- "therapeutic", illegal, and spontaneous (miscarriages) were lumped together in abortion mortality statistics of the time. They fell from 1,407 in 1940 to 744 in 1945. By the end of the 1940s, they'd fallen to 263.

And they continued to fall. Look at when the first states started legalizing. Look at Roe. They didn't even make a blip in the mortality trends. (And, by the way, the CDC stopped really trying to identify and count abortion deaths in the mid-1970s, when Willard Cates and David Grimes left the Abortion Surveillance branch. Now it's a miracle if they notice a woman's death at all. You can have an abortionist discussing a death at an event CDC staff are attending and they won't even notice.)

About those NAF clinics in Kentucky...: One of them hired a security chief who used the clinic as a rape site. The clinic in question, EMW, is a National Abortion Federation member facility.

EMS's abortionist also botched an abortion on a 16-year-old girl, in spite of her mother's efforts to stop the abortion.

    Abortion suicide:

There is an increased risk of suicide after abortion, as compared to women who had not been pregnant, women who had miscarried, and women who had given birth. In fact, all forms of violent death are more common in post-abortion women.

  • 14-year-old Sandra Kaiser committed suicide by throwing herself into traffic after a secret abortion.

  • Stacy Zallie took her own life after her abortion.

  • Arlin della Cruz was found hanging in the woods near her home after her abortion, with a suicide note saying she wanted to be with her baby.

  • Two searches: Reformed abortion workers, and the 1970s

    First, "ex abortion workers clinic"

I have a selection of links to the conversion stories of abortion workers here. The blogosphere is also buzzing recently with this dream conversion. I'd like suggestions for more stories to add.

UPDATE: RedDog provided a link to this YouTube video of a converted abortionist from South Dakota telling her story:

    Then, "abortion stories 1970"

The biggest news of 1970 was New York's historic vote legalizing abortion on demand through 24 weeks, with no restrictions. The freedom New York granted abortionists brought in carpetbaggers from all over the United States. Many of these abortionists were former "back alley butchers" who fled their home states to enjoy the freedom from prosecution they would find in New York. The carpetbagging abortionists attracted to New York included such unsavory characters as Harvey Karman and Jesse Ketchum.

Some of the appalling practices found in New York in the wake of the celebrated new abortion freedom included injecting women with saline and sending them home to abort -- or die. Saline was dangerous enough when used in a hospital setting, with intense medical supervision. To do it on an outpatient basis was to play Russian Roulette with women's lives.

Pardon me for not considering this cause to celebrate.

Meanwhile, women were continuing to die in California, where abortion laws had also been loosened up, though not yet to the extent New York had embraced.

Of course, abortion enthusiasts will claim that, well, all surgery has risks, and probably more women would have died from abortions had they remained illegal. But consider this: In 1921, there were 144 abortion deaths in New York City (that includes miscarriages as well as induced abortions). By 1951 that number had fallen to 15. Abortion mortality was plummeting. Public health measures to limit abortion carnage were working -- without taking the drastic step of legalization.

Here are those beneficiaries of abortion largess I was able to identify for 1970:

  • Denise Holmes, a 24-year-old Australian woman living in Texas, decided to undergo a safe and legal abortion at Avalon Hospital in Los Angeles, California, on her way home for Christmas of 1970.

  • Sara Lint, a 22-year-old coed, submitted to a safe and legal abortion at San Vicente Hospital in Los Angeles, California, on August 11, 1970.

Searches: Atlanta, coathangers, underage pregnancy, and more

Atlanta Surgi-Center is the National Abortion Federation member clinic that put Catherine Pierce in a fatal coma, then refused to let health inspectors in to investigate.

What of the plague of coathanger abortions we can supposedly expect if Roe vs. Wade is overturned? It turns out that in real life, women are smarter than that. In real life, dangerous self-induced abortion attempts are seen in women with mental health issues that can't be treated by abortion.

Then there's the issue of underage pregnancy, most common in girls who are being subjected to sexual abuse. Abusers then use "reproductive health care" to cover up their crimes. "Reproductive health care" that can turn fatal.

While we're on the subject of death from abortion: There's death from hemorrhage. Death from complications of the abortion anesthesia. Death from embolisms. Death from infections. Yes, there's death from abortion. From abortion that is legal and therefore presumably safe.

People were also looking for two specific deaths from abortion: Laura Hope Smith (pictured), who died in 2007 in Massachusetts when her abortionist allowed an untrained receptionist to assist with general anesthesia; and Diane Boyd, a 19-year-old mentally-disabled rape victim who died when a doctor at a National Abortion Federation member clinic in Missouri gave her drugs that interacted fatally with her usual medications.

Searches: Videos, fetuses, anencephaly, teens, and more

The best abortion videos are gathered here.

And here is everything you need to know about a fetus at 18 weeks. Here is everything about the embryo at 6 weeks.

I have information on self-induced abortions here. Here are summaries of some interesting sites about self-induced abortions. Here is my page of self-induced abortion deaths. I have 19th Century Abortion Cases and Other Self-Injury, Self-induced abortions: 'Self-help' vs. self-harm, Coathanger abortions. They did happen. And they still happen., and Coathanger Abortion: Powerful image, but how true to life?

Here's my take on abortions for anencephaly.

For teen abortion stories there are these fatal cases.

The only Dr. Meger I have anything on is Dr. Robert F. Meger.

Read about HPV vaccine problems here.

Steven Infante is 51-year-old Connecticut man who found abortion clinics very cooperative in helping him cover up his sexual abuse of underage girls.

Somebody wanted information about failed abortions. More properly, they're called babies. Like these babies and this baby and this baby and this baby.

Searches: Atlanta abortions, videos, anencephaly, and more

Some people were looking for safe abortions in Atlanta. Good luck with that. Atlanta Surgicenter is the National Abortion Federation member where Catherine Pierce underwent her fatal abortion. It might be the same facility where Geneva Calton's fatal abortion was performed. Sara Niebel underwent her fatal abortion at Midtown Hospital in Atlanta. Midtown was a National Abortion Federation member facility that experienced numerous scandals pertaining to illegal late abortions and filthy, chaotic conditions. Jacqueline Reynolds died after an abortion at Grady Memorial in Atlanta. Arnetta Hardaway's fatal abortion was performed in Atlanta. Angela Scott and Deloris Smith were both fatally injured within the same hour at Atlanta Women's Pavillion. Demitrice Andrews underwent her fatal abortion somewhere in Atlanta. Allegra Roserberry's fatal abortion was performed at Emory Hospital in Atlanta. I'd recommend going someplace that really cares about women, not about just taking their money and tallying them up for political gain. Try Atlanta Care Center, Atlanta Pregnancy Resource Center, or one of these many centers.

If you're looking for abortion videos, the best of the net are here.

Somebody was asking, "Why not c-section instead of abortion if woman's life at risk in 3rd trimester?" An excellent question, and one the abortion lobby has never satisfactorily answered. They just hem and haw about how in some hypothetical situation some doctor might get the idea that taking extra steps to kill the baby before delivering it will somehow help the mother. And when you look at how the abortion lobby defines "health", it becomes clear that this whole issue of "health" and "life" is just a smokescreen.

I have information here about anencephaly and abortion.

Suzanne Logan awoke paralyzed and unable to speak after her safe and legal abortion, performed by Gideon Kioko at Maryland's notorious Hillview abortion mill.

Somebody wanted to know about 14-year-old girls and abortions. Germaine Newman's mother found her dead on the bathroom floor the day after her safe and legal abortion. "Julie" developed septicemia and died after a safe, legal abortion in New York in 1972. Deloris Smith was 14 years old when National Abortion Federation member Atlanta Women's Pavillion managed to fatally injure her and another teenage patient almost simultaneously. Sandra Kaiser killed herself by leaping into traffic after a secret abortion arranged by Planned Parenthood. "Mindi" survived her abortion at Arizona's notorious A to Z abortion mill, but she needed a hysterectomy to save her life. Shytaura G. wound up needing a hysterectomy after her abortion by Steve Lichtenberg. A 14-year-old girl was injured in a secret abortion performed on her by Jesse Floyd. And a 14-year-old girl suffered second and third degree burns to her calf from a lamp while she was under general anesthesia for her abortion at Eastern Women's Center.

Somebody else wanted abortion at age 13. I have these deaths:
    Deanna Bell
and Dawn Ravenelle. Cynthia T. suffered kidney failure and nearly died after her abortion at the Inglewood entity in California. Joseph Melnick was convicted of infanticide after he killed the live-born infant of a 13-year-old girl he'd attempted an abortion on. In 1998, a Planned Parenthood in Arizona performed two abortions on a 13-year-old girl who was being abused by her 23-year-old foster brother. Abortion advocates tried to arrange an abortion for Spring Adams, who was pregnant after being raped by her father, rather than report him so he could be arrested; he shot her dead in her bed while the abortion arrangements were being made. And federal lawmakers have been trying to pass the Child Custody Protection Act after a 13-year-old Pennsylvania girl was brought out-of-state by her abuser's mother for a secret abortion.

Searches: Hemorrhage, third trimester, and self-induced

Someone was searching for "hemorrhage after abortion". I have a list of such deaths here. Examples: Eurice Agbagaa was left in the care of an untrained receptionist as she bled out in a New York abortion clinic. Belinda Byrd was one of 24 women rushed through their abortions in the final two hours of the day. Barbaralee Davis was sent home with the face and spine of her fetus imbedded in a tear in her uterus. Shary Graham's abortionist was in too much of a hurry to get home to a pitcher of Margaritas to bother suturing the tear in her cervix.

The best abortion videos I've found are gathered here.

Some kinds of self-induced abortions are embraced by some women as natural and safe and gentle. They're also how Kris Humphrey and Penny Roe ended up killing themselves.

How many states allow third-trimester abortions? Technically, all of them, thanks to the Roe and Doe Supreme Court decisions. Three allow them only (ostensibly) to save the mother's life -- a nonsensical concept, since if the woman's life is in danger the doctor will induce labor or perform an emergency c-section; he'll not bog down the process of ending the pregnancy with extra invasive procedures to kill the baby first. Six states only allow third-trimester abortions for physical health indications. Again, the entire idea that the woman's physical health can be helped by an additional procedure to make sure that when the baby comes out, it's dead, is fatuous. 31 states allow third-trimester abortions for "physical or mental health" exceptions -- which makes sense if you think that a dead baby instead of a live one benefits a mother's mental health. And ten states have no prohibition against third-trimester abortions whatsoever.

Somebody wanted reasons not to get an abortion in the third trimester. Well, ask yourself this -- If you have such a serious health problem that the doctor needs to get that baby out of you quickly, which makes more sense: to go to your local fully-equipped hospital for a well-established procedure which can have the baby safely out within the hour, alive and in the NICU; or traveling to an outpatient facility that will have you spend three days in a motel room with your friend or relative while they take steps to ensure that the baby comes out dead. Most likely in the toilet.

I have information here about abortion in the 1940s.

Searches: Michael J. New, Tay-Sachs, Lysol douches, and more

Somebody wanted Michael J. New. He's the researcher who very adeptly picked apart the New York Times's slipshod reporting on the effects of parental involvement laws on teen pregnancy and abortion rates.

Somebody was looking for a perfectly innocent electrical engineer named Dr. Nabil Ghaly. Imagine their shock when they got stuff on this guy. I hope some eyes were opened. And, Dr. Ghaly, good luck with your retirement!

Belkis Gonzalez (pictured) remains a popular search, though probably not a popular person. She's the owner of a seedy Florida abortion mill, and facing possible charges for putting a live-born baby in a biohazard bag and throwing it onto the roof to die.

Somebody was looking for a Kabacy in Oregon. All I know about is Planned Parenthood abortionist and child-porn collector George Elliott Kabacy. A real piece of work.

I've gathered some of the best abortion videos on the web.

I have a lot on Barack Obama and the babies that get left to die. Not just in Illinois. Babies that Barack Obama doesn't think need their own doctor, because that would "... burden the original decision of the woman and the physician to induce labor and perform an abortion."

Lysol douche ad are a perennial favorite. And they might go a long way toward explaining the Lysol abortion stories, on two fronts. First of all, maybe some of those "abortions" were actually messed-up douches, attempts to reinvigorate the marriage, per the ads. Second of all, if something is known to kill germs (Killing germs is a good thing, right?), and it's touted by experts as healthy to put into your body, how could putting a little more of it in a bit deeper be that much of a problem? I could see some befuddled, anxious woman thinking that.

I have information here about abortion in the 1940s.

Yes, Barack Obama supports third trimester abortions.

Maria Lira was a college student killed by a safe and legal abortion in 1974.

Somebody wanted to know about Tay-Sachs and avoiding abortion. Here is information about a program to help people who carry the gene for Tay-Sachs to avoid marrying in the first place -- reducing the births of children with the fatal genetic disorder by 90% without resorting to abortion. The National Tay-Sachs & Allied Diseases Association provides support for parents. I haven't found a site that specifically supports parents carrying to term after a prenatal diagnosis of Tay-Sachs, but there are folks who have faced equally daunting news at Be Not Afraid, Carry to Term with a Negative Prenatal Diagnosis, Perinatal Hospice, and Prenatal Partners for Life. Researchers are looking into diverse strategies as gene therapy, multiple-treatment approaches, and cord blood transplants. Prayers for whoever is making this search.

More searches: Videos again, self-induced, teens, etc.

  • Abortion videos: I've gathered some of the best abortion videos on the web.

  • Self-induced abortion: Plenty of food for thought here. Fatal ones here.

  • Teen abortion stories: A collection here. Deadly ones here.

  • 3rd trimester abortions: Read here about their legal status. Obama supports them. Why are they being done so late in the pregnancy? Some examples are Mary W., whose baby was born alive and subsequently strangled by her abortionist. Ana Rosa Rodriguez was well into the third-trimester when Abu Hayat ripped her arm off in an abortion attempt. Abortionist Douglas Karpan initiated a third-trimester abortion on a teen who changed her mind. Teen Denise Montoya died from complications of a third-trimester abortion. Other mothers who died from botched third-trimester abortions include Lou Anne Herron, and Magdalena Rodriguez. Second and third trimester abortion images are available here. A chiropractor in Florida got caught doing a third-trimester abortion on a teenager. Seedy abortionist Steve Brigham did at least one third-trimester abortion in his New York office. Here are my reflections on how Tiller's staff determine if a third-trimester fetus is viable or not. You can read about Midtown Hospital's third-trimester abortion scandal. And you can look here at claims that such abortions are only done for health reasons. This is not a comprehensive set of information, just a sampling. If you want more, let me know.

  • Do women die from abortions?: Yes, they die. They bleed to death from abortions. They die from complications of the abortion anesthesia. They die from embolisms. They die from infections. Yes, they die. From abortions that are legal and therefore presumably safe.

  • landmark womens center: Though it sounds like a name for a clinic, it's actually just the office of Mi Yong Kim, who performed the fatal abortion on Adelle Roe in 2002. This is a common gambit among abortionists. They give their offices a name that sounds like a clinic, leading patients to assume that the place is a clinic and thus subject to the kinds of regulations and inspections a clinic would be subject to. However, since they're legally just the physician's private practice, they're subject to very little oversight.

  • Underage pregnancy: start here, and continue here, with a variety of posts on the subject.

  • Belkis Gonzalez (pictured): Owner of a seedy Florida abortion mill, and facing possible charges for putting a live-born baby in a biohazard bag and throwing it onto the roof to die.

  • Tax dollars for abortion: Yeah, buying death for moms with your money. And increasing the rates of hospitalizations for abortion complications. Not a very wise use of money, I'd say.

  • Palin and the rape kits: Bogus hysteria and a smear campaign. Turns out that there was ONE rape in Wasilla during the time period between Palin becoming mayor and the state law going into effect (requiring local law enforcement to pick up the tab for rape kits). And that victim was not charged for her rape kit.

  • 14-week abortion: Information and examples.

  • Dennis Boom: Widower of Linda Boom, who died in 1995 from a saline abortion performed at Sinai Samaritan Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Linda had chosen abortion because her baby had been diagnosed with Down syndrome.

  • Teen abortion stories: This post highlights some of the most heart-wrenching cases from my library of cases of teens killed by abortions. Tamiia Russell (pictured) is a particularly distressing case -- she was pregnant through statutory rape, and brought for her abortion by her abuser's sister.
