Win The Fight - those were the first words we said when Geoff & I heard he had cancer. This Blog will journal our life as we continue to Win The Fight.

Geoff had his latest CT scans in December '09 to check for recurrence of his cancer. 2 years and 9 months post nephrectomy and the scans remain NED (No Evidence of Disease). His next scans are in late May '10. Happy New Year to all!
awesome news Patti! I'm so pleased to be in the same club! Happy 2010 to all the family! Here's to a happy & healthy year, full of fun new memories and milestones.
Geoff was diagnosed with RCC (Renal Cell Carcinoma...commonly known as Kidney Cancer) in March 2007 when he was 41 years old...our 4 kids were 9, 5,1 year and 9 months old (not exactly what we were expecting at this stage in our lives). His primary tumor was 2.5cm (tiny, yet Stage III, pT3a, Grade 3). To hopefully reduce the high risk of recurrence at this stage and grade, he did an adjuvant Clinical Trial (ECOG 2805) of either placebo/
Sutent/Nexavar. Side effects show he got 13 months of Sutent (3 cycles at 50mg and 6 cycles reduced to 37.5mg due to adverse side effects). As of May 2009 scans he thankfully has not had a recurrence. We continue to live, love and laugh each and every day to the fullest.
