Pasture Puffs Ponies

So it was too cold out for my Mom when we went out to look at the ponies the other day and so yesterday was warmer so she came out to see them too.  We got out there and the pasture ponies were looking over the fence too so I spoiled them all with a little oats.  And we got some pictures, which was harder than expected cause the gates were frozen from the half inch of rain we got before the snow.

(George)

(Bailey, she wouldn't even look at me)

(Razz and Trio)

(More Razz and Trio, my matching ponies)

But none the less got there anyways and fed them and took some pics, not as nice as if they are running around or something but I got a good look at everybody again and petted them all and they are all fat and sassy just like turned out horses should be.
(Pally and Dee, they dont look that different in height)

(so cute, my other matching ponies...sorta)

(and of course Jessie)

Then of course can't feed the pasture ponies without the corral ones so they got fed too.  I'm kinda a  sucker for those pony eyes...like puppy eyes but bigger lol.  I'm really thinking as soon as their bale is gone I might turn them all out too and bring them in later when it starts getting nicer out, specially since I have Easy boarded all winter, that way I can go there more and actually get some other stuff done too.

Then we went wandering and the cats came around.
(Ziggy)

(Nintendo, hes sure getting old, but still don't sit still for pictures)

And Neil broke a chain in the bale processor so he was trying to fix that and Clint was helping.
(Helping)

And me and my mom went for a drive to try and find the elk but of course we couldn't see them, but at least we did see a lot of antelopes.
(antelopes)

And we saw a little owl that I don't know what it was, there was 3 of them.  And of course my mom got a pic but I don't have it.  It looks like a great horned except hes tiny, smaller than a hawk.  Ill have to make her send me a pic of it.

My Moms Visit

My Mom came out for a couple days to stay.  They take holidays every year at the same time and always find a couple days to spend with us.  The got here late the first night so we just made supper and sat around the fire, it was nothing big but sure enjoyable.  the next day Neil had booked a tee time down in Duchess for him and Clint cause Clint Lives for golf in the summer (and bowling in the winter) and Neil enjoys it and with Sunnynook not open this year he hasn't got out much.  While they were gone I took my Mom out on Bob for a tour of our place and to take some pics cause we both enjoy that.  It was a lot longer tour than we thought, lol we just we getting home as Neil and Clint came home from golfing!

First we stopped at the dam down south and saw rosehips (lots!) and a pretty flower with purple stems and some kind of white daisy and what I was told are bullberry trees with no pokeys:

Then we headed to the creek going south and took some pics up top looking down, then saw a blazing star which we have tonnes of but didnt know what they were (thanks Linda), and a prickly pear cactus:

Then in the bottom of the creek we saw a bird on the other side, and coming up out of the creek were 2 barn swallows on a nest Neils Dad built, and another hawk on the fence post going North:

And we headed up to the neighbors place and he had an old seeder my Mom thought was pretty cool so she got her pic with it :)

The back to our place up North more looking into the creek, where we saw 2 deers and their fawns and the one who run up the hill by us :

Then out to the road we saw some antelopes and their babies, and an old weeder on the side of the road (my mom thought that was cool too, lol)

Then the next day my Mom wanted a tour in Neil's Grampa's old truck so he got it going and they went down the road and back, she thought it was too fun

We saw a lot of really cool things, most exciting was the fawn that ran up the hill and came out of the bushes less than 10 feet from where we were standing!  Neither of us got a picture we were too stunned.  It always seems so short a visit but always a good time.

Scrapbooking Weekend

On Thursday night I headed to Olds after feeding my ponies at Jardi's.  Charlene had a lesson on the flag and so I never rode cause I wasn't having a lesson.  We stopped for supper at the Chinese food place with Jardi and had a nice good visit.  I kept going to my Moms and stayed there overnight.  In the morning we went out to Sundre to a place called Diamond Buffalo Guest Ranch where we spent the weekend.

It sure is a pretty place out there.  They have their own private lake, and the big lodge building and bunkhouses a little farther away.

In the lodge they have a restaurant/lounge and they serve meals on Thursdays to Sundays.  On Friday and Saturday night they had a blues band in there, that was different. I don't listen to a lot of blues, but kinda nice for a while.

We had our own room set up in the basement and it was pretty nice big room.  There was lots of tables down there for us so we could spread our stuff out really well.  In the next room there were chairs and couches if we wanted, but we didn't spend much time there.

It was my mom and my weekend we usually spend together, but we invited Stacey along as well cause she really wanted to get a bunch of stuff done.  It was so much fun.   I worked on my regular album, getting caught up and I finally finished 2010.  I was gonna start on the cruise we took in February, but I had printed mine and my sisters pictures but never got my moms pictures printed, so I didn't want to start and then find out I had more good pics I wanted to get put in.

So I continued on into 2011, and sure some good memories of clinics and cutting we went to up at Vic's last winter.  But I sure hope we don't get as much snow as last year, it was ridiculous!!  I sure wont have a problem using up all the snow stickers I have.

It sure is easy looking back and finding out dates on stuff when I have my blog.  I kinda think its silly to have both cause I could just print out my blog and its almost the same.  But I sure like the dimensions and backgrounds and stickers and stuff that we put in our scrap booking albums.

Behind

Its been so crazy and my Internet hasn't been working, but I got a new computer and its great!  I love the fact I can actually post a blog all in one sitting!  My mom came out for a couple days last week and that was so much fun, but nothing got done.  But that's okay, its nice to just relax for a few days.

(Kali had to shake as I was taking the picture)

I helped my friend move last Saturday and stayed over at my sisters house so we could take her kids to camp on Sunday.  Sure a nice drive up to Gull Lake.  Of course on the way home, we had to go shopping!  We didn't end up with a whole lot but sure was fun.

And I took Jamaica over to Jardis and he is gonna get gelded on Monday afternoon hopefully.  He is much improved, I led him off the trailer, all the way to Jardis barn and in the stall and he was fine, then Tuesday I walk in the stall and he walks over to me and just stands there while I put on the halter and pick up all four feet, so I am pretty happy with him.  He sure is a talker though, every time a person goes by he is talking.

And then I brought Dinero over for a week too cause I figured if I am going to be over there everyday with Jamaica, I might as well ride while I'm there.  I gave him a bath and he was actually pretty clean, except him mane and tail of course. I was surprised cause he hasn't had a bath since last summer. And the first ride I had on him ovet there we seen a moose and 2 deer, and he didnt freak out over them which I was pretty happy about.

And yesterday I helped my aunt put up wainscoting in my Mom's house, sure looks nice!  It still needs the top rail and caulked and painted but what a difference!

Wednesday August 4 already!

Yesterday my sister asked me to drive her boys to camp. So of course I did, cant let the boys not go to camp just because there is no ride. So off to Calgary I go (@ hours) then up to camp(2 more hours) and we stay and have supper and visit a while, then back to Calgary to drop of my sister (2 hours) and then back home (2 mores hours). It was a long fay. I left at 10 in the morning and never got back till 11 pm. Whew. and I get to do it all again on Friday. But seeing as how the boys were so excited, it was totally worth it.

On the way home, I wanted to stop at Irvine's tack and Trailer, which I did, but since it was already 8, we didn't really look around much, but i really needed fly spray, which apparently so does everyone else cause I bought the very last bottle.

On my way out, I seen the horses in the pasture, and i guess George is kinda an outcast, cause whenever they are in the pasture, he is always off by himself. I think its quite a change for him to be in the middle of the pecking order. I have seen Gypsy chase him away, and even Razz does sometimes, although she is less demonstrative about it.

My mom and Clint came out on Sunday and that was kinda fun. Neil took Clint golfing and me and mom looked at my ponies and visited. She doesn't get to come out very often so its always fun when she does. She is allergic to the ponies, but on allergy shots but they still bother her a little.

Monday, I think

Its been crazy busy around here again for the last few days again, not sure I can take all this craziness anymore.

On Friday, we went to a branding for the ranch I used to work for, its always a fun one, but busy. That evening I went to my Moms and scrap booked. I am soo close to finishing 2009, I think I have like 3 pages left. That will be nice to get done, I already have 4 albums for this year already and its only half over.

On Saturday morning i went garage sailing with my mom, and I spent all of 85cents. I got some canning jars, lids, 2 books, an embroidery hoop, and some tire sealant for Neil. Not too shabby I think.

When I got home, I didn't want to do anymore, but weeded some garden then went to bed. Yesterday Neils mom and dad came out and then that evening I went to a bridal shower, and trail ride, and Bailey was horrible. I guess that's what I get for only riding her like 3 times in 3 months, so I know its my fault and will try to get to her more now that she seems a little better.

Then today a neighbor asked us to help move his cows. It was a long 7 miles in hot hot weather. And I never thought to bring my camera, grr I hate that!

However before I left I went to check the horses, and was surprised to see Gypsy, Fly and Jazz in the corral. I was a little worried, but Jazz wasn't. On the other side of the dam, was Belle, Jamaica and Razz, just eating not paying any attention to anything else. It was weird, but I took advantage of it and took some pics of Jazz by herself.

Her and Fly were so cute eating out of the same pile

Until he chased her off, Like mother like son I guess.

And I just love the look on her face her, its almost as if shes asking me for help.
