Pants on Fire

It always feels good getting a project done, something I’m sure Old Sarge feels all too rarely. (ZING!) Here are my first efforts as a sewer of adaptive clothing:

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

The plaid pants were purchased, and I opened the left leg seam, reinforced it with bias tape, (the only time you will read “left” and “bias” as it pertains to me) then added Velcro. The more colorful pair were made from scratch, and yes, that is Raphael, Donatello, Leonardo and Michaelangelo in the print. It was easier to do make them from a pattern than altering a ready made pair. I don’t know if I’m ready for Sew Much Comfort quite yet, but we’ll see.

So, Young SGT, britches and Apple Pie will be forthcoming. For those who were mislead about the Apple Pie:

1 Large bottle of apple juice, apple cider or a blend of both
A fifth of vodka or Everclear
2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon nutmeg
½ c. honey
Cinnamon sticks

Simmer all ingredients except the vodka, covered, for 30 minutes, then cool. When completely cooled, add vodka and decant. The cinnamon sticks add extra flavor as it, um, ages.

You’re welcome!

The apple pie sounds dreamy - can you serve it over ice??

And I hope that healing is speedy for the Young SGT. Nice pants... ;^)

Believe me, the apple pie is as good or better than the grape jelly!
