Did you guess?

I was making Rocky Road - i make mine with philly cheese instead of butter or marge! This happened the first time when i had planned to make it but Mr RaggyRat had eaten all the latter, and I was forced to try it having promised the small people! It's really nice and fudgy!

And of course, you remember my sweet little sofa ...

I covered the new cushion, and now no small things slip down the gap, or feel the sprung-ridge on their tender parts!

Our Sofa ....

I have been using my camera today to take some photographs I can work from, for my children's book ... well maybe not this one!

I think my vintage sofa (left at my request from the previous owner) is a great setting for many of our family adventures, especially those involving books or just talking together ... Come on Mum, sit down!

and I have also been working in something for the sofa - so take a good look at these 'before' pics! And take a peak at the sewing project, below -

Sofa so good!

It's not really a great day to leap off  the sofa and go outside! So we are getting the Hama beads out, and I may well do some drawing. Look out for a big change to this sofa to make it even more cosy to sit on, with a great big new cushion which has no gap in the middle. They don't make them like this any more, so i will be keeping hold of the original sprung seat cushions too!

fleece life-saver, for sofas all-at-sea!

and in progress, looking like the-cat-in-the-hat had a hand in it ...

Which is cool, Daisy loves to read from Dr Seuss books at present, in fact, child-led learning mostly consists of Daisy shadowing me through all my chores, asking, "what does this word say mummy?"

i haven't had any rats since these old boys, they really were the most charming rats, and got on with our ginea pig girl too, when they would meet under the sofa ...

the sofa in these pics turns up in my family photos a lot, mostly on flickr i have to admint, as i took it to bits, paited the wooden parts and re-covered it in terracotta sale fabric !

those where the days when i had the time and energy to re-vvamp a sofa !
