Shaker Card with glitter background and extra sparkles

I'm getting better at playing with glitter!  I wanted to just make a pretty shiny background and ended up with this shaker card.  Sometimes you just play and let it go where it goes.

I covered a sheet of white card stock with ECD double sided adhesive and then added glitter to the top side and let it fall down in a diagonal manner.

I then burnished in the glitter with my finger to complete the background.

I cut out the "Sending" and little flowers out of white cardstock.  A rhinestone in the middle made the flowers match my sentiment perfectly.  The shaped glitter inside the shaker element added an extra dimension of fun.

Hope you like it and have a wonderful day of sparkles and fun!

If Kisses were Snowflakes Shaker Card

No snow yet - just rain!  But for those of you who get enough snow as is, you can restrain your blizzard within a shaker card with these new stamps.  I had so much fun with these stamps using one of my favorite techniques - resist embossing.  I first clear embossed the snowflakes from the Let It Snow Flourished Snowflakes stamp set and sponged in different shades of distress inks (Mermaid Lagoon, Chipped Sapphire, and Blueprint Sketch.)  I did the same with the  If Kisses Were Snowflakes stamp and die cut out the sentiment with an oval die.  I used a slightly larger oval die on the snowflake sheet to create a window for my shaker card.

Using acetate and foam tape, I made my shaker cards with some shaped glitter and white beads.

Thank you so much for looking!

Hello, my friend

Hi!  I'm so excited about Quietfire's new metal dies that I have two cards to share with you today.  They both use the Hello die and they were both hard to photograph, especially the first one.

I used Staz-On Opaque White ink. to stamp my butterflies on the clear acetate.   I made a purple watercolor wash and then used the Hello die to cut out the watercolor paper.  I then used just a thin strip of 1/8" Scortape to adhere my background paper to the back layer of the card.  That way you could still lift up the back to write your note if you didn't want to write across the floral paper.

So much glare but it looks quite neat and dainty in real life.

On my second card I made a shaker card though it started out just as a negative die cut.  But after adding the acetate to adhere the little inside pieces, I went ahead and added some beads and sequins.

I also stamped "My friend" below the die opening and added some sequins to the front.
