Season's Greetings Christmas Card

Hey Quietfire Fans! For today's project I'm sharing with how to create this vintage Season's Greetings Christmas Card. I combined a variety of Quietfire Design Stamps, A Way With Words Dies and Modern Gilding Powders which were all perfect for creating this Christmas Card. You'll want to grab a cup of your favourite beverage and learn how to recreate my Season's Greetings Christmas Card at home.

To start, you'll need a piece of red patterned cardstock. Die cut a 4" Stitched Indented Rectangle out of the cardstock piece. Distress the edges of the rectangle. Ink the edges of the rectangle using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Next, you'll need a piece of dark green patterned cardstock. Die cut a 3 3/4" Fitted Indented Rectangle out of the cardstock piece. Apply Emboss It Ink to the Merry Christmas Background stamp and stamp onto the rectangle. Reapply ink to the stamp and continue stamping on the rectangle as desired. Sprinkle Kells Gold Modern Gilding Powders over the stamped background. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool. Distress the edges of the rectangle. Ink the edges of the rectangle using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Die cut a 3/4" Diagonal Stitched Fishtail out of a plain piece of red cardstock. Apply Emboss It Ink to the Season's Greetings sentiment from the Poinsettia Banner & Sentiments stamp set and stamp onto the fishtail. Sprinkle Kells Gold Modern Gilding Powders over the stamped sentiment. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool. Distress the edges of the banner. Ink the edges of the banner using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

From the Flourished Candle, die cut the whole candle image out of a piece of copper foil paper. Die cut the candle edge and flame out of a piece of White Cardstock. Using a blending tool with foam, blend Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink over the entire surface of the flame.

Adhere the 3 3/4" rectangle to the 4" rectangle. Adhere the 3/4" fishtail 1/4" from the bottom and all the way to the left hand side of the 3 3/4" rectangle.

Adhere the flame to the flame on the copper piece. Adhere the candle edge to the candle edge on the copper piece.

Use foam squares to adhere the flourished candle 1" from the bottom and 1/2" from the left of the 3 3/4" rectangle.

To finish the card, cut a cardbase out of white cardstock that measures 4" x 10 1/2", score at 5 1/4". Adhere the cardfront to the cardbase.

Here are a few closeups of the finished Christmas Card.

Merry Christmas Card

Hey Quietfire Fans! For today's project I'm sharing with you my Merry Christmas Card. I combined a variety of A Way With Words Dies and Modern Gilding Powders which were all perfect for creating this card. You'll want to grab a cup of your favourite beverage and learn how to recreate my Merry Christmas Card at home.

To start, you'll need a piece of red and green cardstock and the Merry Christmas 3 Die. Die cut the Merry word out of the red cardstock. Die cut the Christmas word out of the green cardstock.

Die cut the Flourished Candle out of a piece of white cardstock. Cut the candle off of the flourish. Apply Emboss It Ink to the flourish and sprinkle Copper Scroll Modern Gilding Powders over the entire surface. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool.

Apply Emboss It Ink to a piece of white cardstock. Sprinkle Kells Gold Modern Gilding Powders over the entire area of ink. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool. From the Peace on Earth Die, you'll need the stars. Die cut the stars twice out of the embossed paper. You'll need a total of seven stars.

Choose two pieces of Christmas patterned paper. From one piece of patterned paper, die cut a 4" Stitched Indented Rectangle out. From the other piece of patterned paper, die cut a 3 3/4" Fitted Indented Rectangle out. Ink the edges of the rectangles using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Foam square the 3 3/4" rectangle to the 4" rectangle.

Adhere the flourish 7/8" from the bottom and 5/8" from the left of the rectangle. Adhere the Merry Christmas word slightly above the flourish.

Use foam squares to adhere the stars as desired around the Merry Christmas word and flourish.

To finish the card, cut a cardbase out of white cardstock that measures 4" x 10 1/2", score at 5 1/4". Adhere the cardfront to the cardbase.

Here are a few closeups of the finish card.

Christmas Joy

Hello!  I've still got a several Christmas cards in me before the season is done. :)  I changed up the color scheme just a bit here.  Hope you like it!

I started with a tent fold black card base of 5.5" x 4.25". On a sheet of white card stock measuring 5.25" x 4", sponge different shades of pink to red to a dark purple using Distress Oxide Inks. Die cut the Flourished Candle out of white card stock. For the glittered portions in the picture, use the double sided adhesive on the white card stock before die cutting. Use two die circles to make the nimbus for the candle.
I used the glitter Sand Dunes for the flame and Silver Sand for the halo. To add a bit of shading to the flourishes under the candle, I used light grey Copic markers to add a bit of dimension to the candle. For the final piece, I embossed Christmas from the stamp Christmas Collection set on black card stock and trimmed down. Adhere all pieces together as pictured. I added white dots using a while gel pen.

I think this card will look lovely on a mantle with greenery and candles - how that red will stand out!

Merry Christmas and Flourished Candle with wreath background

Hi, Diana here with a Christmas card using two of the new dies by Suzanne - it's time to get started on making those Christmas cards and these new dies will make them so very elegant!

Merry Christmas Small is the original Merry Christmas in a reduced size and leaves space for another image on your card front.  Here I used the Flourished Candle in silver Mirror Cardstock.  I did die cut the candle out of white card stock to add some shading to the wax and color to the flame.

I first started by drawing a circle on my watercolor card base.  I then used different green Zig markers to make a subtle wreath background.   I then spritzed the page with water and the result was so pretty I kept it like you see in the final card.

(Full disclosure, I was going to die cut a wreath out but I liked how it turned out so I just left it there and turned it into a background.)

The Merry Christmas die was cut out of glittered red cardstock - it's a little dark in the picture but it has a nice subtle glitter look in real life.

You can combine any of the new releases below - and even more possibilities when you add other word dies by Suzanne!

To celebrate the new release, we're going to have a
week long celebration and a giveaway!

To be eligible to win, leave a comment on each blog post on the Quietfire Creations Blog from September 28th through to next Friday, October 5th, 2018.  We'll randomly choose three winners and send out one of the new dies to each winner!
