Season's Greetings Card

Hey Quietfire Fans! For today's project I'm sharing with you my Season's Greetings. I combined a variety of Quietfire Design Stamps, A Way With Words Dies and Modern Gilding Powders which were all perfect for creating this card. You'll want to grab a cup of your favourite beverage and learn how to recreate my Season's Greetings Card at home.

To start, you'll need a dark green piece of cardstock. Die cut a 3 1/4" Fitted Rounded Rectangle out of the cardstock. Apply Emboss It Ink to the Merry Christmas Background and stamp onto the rectangle. Sprinkle Kells Gold Modern Gilding Powders over the stamped background. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool. Distress the edges of the rectangle. Ink the edges of the rectangle using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Next, you'll need a red piece of cardstock. Die cut a 1" Fitted Fishtail out of the cardstock. Apply Emboss It Ink to the Season's Greetings Sentiment from the Poinsettia Banner & Sentiments Stamp Set and stamp onto the fishtail. Sprinkle Copper Scroll Modern Gilding Powders over the stamped sentiment. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool. Trim the fishtail down to 4". Distress the edges of the fishtail. Ink the edges of the fishtail using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

From the Flourished Holly die, die cut the flourish and holly pieces out of a light green cardstock piece. Die cut the holly berries out of a piece of red cardstock.

From a piece of Christmas patterned paper, die cut a 3" Stitched Rounded Rectangle. Distress the edges of the rectangle. Ink the edges of the rectangle using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Foam square the 3" rectangle to the 3 1/4" rectangle.

Adhere the 1" fishtail to the middle of the 3" rectangle as desired.

Adhere the flourished holly image together. Foam square the flourished holly to the left hand side of the fishtail as desired.

To finish the card, cut a cardbase out of white cardstock that measures 3 1/4" x 9", score at 4 1/2". Adhere the cardfront to the cardbase.

Here are a few closeups of the finish card.

Falalalala Card

Hey Quietfire Fans! For today's project I'm excited to share with you my Falalalala Card. I combined a variety of dies and Modern Gilding Powder, which were all perfect for creating this Christmas card. You'll want to grab a cup of your favourite beverage and learn how to recreate my Falalalala Card at home.

To start, choose a couple of Christmas patterned papers. From one piece of patterned paper, die cut a 4" Stitched Rounded Rectangle. From the other piece of patterned paper, die cut a 3 1/2" Stitched Rounded Rectangle. Distress the edges of both papers. Ink the edges of both papers using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

From a third piece of coordinating Christmas patterned paper, die cut the Flourished Frame out of it.

Die cut the Falalalala die out of white cardstock. Apply Emboss It Ink to the word. Sprinkle Gothic Black Modern Gilding Powder over the entire surface of the word. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool.

Apply Emboss It Dabber to a piece of white cardstock. Sprinkle Kells Gold Modern Gilding Powder over the white cardstock. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool. From the Peace on Earth die, you'll need the stars. Die cut the stars out of the embossed paper. You'll need a total of three.

From the Flourished Holly, die cut all of the piece out of white cardstock. Apply Emboss It Dabber to the skeleton holly leaf and the holly leaf bunch. Sprinkle Copper Scroll Modern Gilding Powder over the two pieces. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool. Using a blending tool with foam, blend Forest Moss Distress Ink over the entire surface of the two holly leaves. Using a blending tool with foam, blend Fired Brick Distress Ink over the entire surface of the berries.

Adhere the Flourished Frame to the 4" stitched rounded rectangle. Foam square the 3 1/2" stitched rounded rectangle to the middle of the 4" stitched rounded rectangle.

Adhere the Falalalala word to the middle of the 3 1/2" stitched rounded rectangle. The bottom of the Falalalala word will sit 1/8" from the bottom of the 3 1/2" stitched rounded rectangle.

Adhere the Flourished Holly together. Foam square the Flourished Holly to the top of the Falalalala word.

Use foam squares to adhere the three stars as desired around the Falalalala word.

To finish the card, cut a piece of white cardstock that measures 5 1/4" x 8", score at 4". Adhere the cardfront to the cardbase.

Here are a few closeups of the finished card.

Gilded Christmas - Glory to God in the Highest

Merry Christmas, everyone!

It's Nancy here on the blog today, sharing my Gilded Christmas card,
using the beautiful Glory to God in the Highest stamp!

This is such a beautiful stamp!
I've embossed it using the gorgeous Kells Gold Modern Gilding Powder,
which makes it even more beautiful!

For my background paper, I chose a lovely piece that has gold foil bits on it.
It works perfectly with the gilded sentiment.

Here's a closer look at the wonderful stamp design.

Another photo that shows off the fabulous gold shine.

I cut the fantastic Flourished Holly Die from Rinea Glossy Gold foiled paper.
It's such an intricate die, with so many creative possibilities.
The shine of the foiled paper matches the gold gilding so well.
You could always cut the die out of any paper and gild it with the Kells Gold Gilding Powder.

All you need is a few fantastic products from Quietfire Design,
and you can easily put together a beautiful Christmas card.

Gilded Falalala with Holly

Hello, Connie Nichol here today with a quick and simple Christmas card featuring two of the new dies released by Quietfire Design and two of the new gilding powders.  These gilding powders come in six colours and are a lovely fine embossing powder.

I die cut the Falalala and the flourished holly leaves and berries out of inexpensive white cardstock.  (Frugal tip:   I go through so much cardstock, I buy the large packages of 8.5x11 110 lb cardstock at Staples. You get 250 sheets for $21.99 CAD, so it works out to about 9 cents a sheet).  I coated the die cuts with Versamark embossing ink before sprinkling with the gilding powders and heating to melt.  I did this twice to get a nice smooth coat.

The 'berries' in the holly are some Robin's Nest dew drops I had laying around.  Beads, sequins or even a dab of glitter glue would also work to accent the berries.  Add adhere the diecuts to the cardstock base and layer it up as desired with silver paper or dry embossed white cardstock. That's it - all you need are dies, cardstock and gilding powder.  Have fun!

Quietfire Design Supplies Used:  Falalala and Flourished Holly dies, Acanthus Teal and Dragon Berry gilding powders
Other Supplies: Staples white cardstock, Crafter's Companion silver mirrored cardstock, Versamark ink, Robin's Nest dew drops

Flourished Holly and Cheers ~ A Christmas Mug!

Quietfire Design 2019 Calligraphic Christmas Bundle of metal dies / Christmas Mug using vinyl

Hello Kim here again! Guess what today is? Two months until Christmas! I know I should be posting something spooky, but honestly only 2 more months!

I am usually not so organized with my Christmas to do list, so whenever I can get a head start on a few projects...I’m all in. This year I plan on making more of these fun festive mugs! They are quick, fun and look FAB...if I must say so myself!

The latest seasonal die release from Elizabeth Craft Designs & Quietfire Design is perfectly timed for all of your Christmas projects...and mine!

Quietfire Design 2019 Calligraphic Christmas Bundle of metal dies

I was not sure how steel dies would work with vinyl as I have only ever cut vinyl with my Cricut Explore. I squealed when the dies cut like butter!

For my mugs, I used the new Cheers and Flourished Holly dies! They are perfect as a “team” on my Christmas mugs. I built the layers of the holly on a non-stick surface and then moved it as one piece onto the mug, leaving enough room for the “Cheers” sentiment.

Easy, peasy...DONE! I can see adding some hot chocolate and candy canes into the mug, fill it with candy or maybe a coffee gift card. A great gift for someone on your list and easy to make multiples!
