A funny thing happened on the way to the Dentist

 

Ok short version, went to get my mom’s car to go to the dentist, got there way too early, I confused the bus schedules and I saw this

Well the floor model anyway and the mirror wasn’t on it today.

I wanted a desk like this and didn’t remember the mirror went with it and thought that is the desk I want.

I got keys and went to the dentist.

I was sad it will sell this weekend and I will loose out.

I tried to let it go.

Went to Tuesday Morning and found

Yes Pink Blue Willow dishes.

$4.99 for a three piece place setting.

YAY!!

The fruit/cereal bowls $4.99 set of 2!

YAY! YAY!

Went back to get mom for lunch and fell back in love with MY PERFECT desk.

Tuesday is payday.

Mom says “ask pop”

Pop said “ok” (well after a lot of grunting)

I will pay him back!

I’ll pay him big time he even brought it home for me!!

I have had a smile on my face since 12pm today and it will stay for awhile!!!

I am sitting at my new desk writing this post and I am oh a happy girl.

OH!

They let me use my mom’s discount

SCORE!!!

I am not bragging I just wanted to let you know what a great find I got today.

In other news, Cost Plus/World Market is now owned by Bed, Bath and Beyond.

I am hoping they keep the cool stuff and not go the outlet look of BB&B.

That would be sad. I am trying to talk mom into a job at Barnes & Noble. Yea, that’s the ticket.

hehehe

I now have the only piece of furniture I wanted for my new place so only a microwave and a coffee maker to go!

September will never get here!

Recipe HELP….

Happy Memorial Day, I can never forget I would not be sitting in my home with my dog, enjoying blogging if our freedoms had not been fought for for hundreds of years by those who just thought it was what they should do. I think brave means you do what is right, not just what you want to.

THANK YOU  to all who have served, are serving and to the families at home that share you with this great country.

As I am home enjoying a day off because of these great men and women, I watched Rachel Ray. It was a rerun but as I am not watching TV this time of day, but here was a really cool idea for meat loaf!

Meat and potato cup cakes!!

I love it!!

Now I have recently gone Gluten Free. SOOOO all the regular stuffings for a meat loaf I cannot use. Also I would love to add veggies to this.

Now do I add them to the meat so I have filling for the meat loaf, or stick to onions and seasoning in the meat and add veggies in the potatoes, I am thinking corn, maybe squash, zucchini, even broccoli. I am not a carrot and pea fan so I really don’t want to add them.

How would you do it. I really like the littleness and cupcakes rock! I really think this would be a great idea what would you do?

My story is of my sweet little cousin Chase. At nine months old he was diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma.

(The bruise on his head is from playing like a boy not his cancer ;)

How can you say to a baby’s family your child has the worst form of cancer in 7 different parts of his body? I know why I am not a doctor.

My cousin Christine has the best spirit and the whole family dug in and 11 months after diagnosis Chase was treatment free, he has stayed that way for 4 months now. Chase has continued to fight and is a happy child that climbs and runs and swims and enjoys all that life has to offer.

It is great to see God work so fast and how even those who should be too little to understand can know to live life to the fullest.

I have always had Hope even if all the loved ones didn’t make it all the way through the journey. They lived and had good lives and that is the Hope we are given daily.

I thank God every day for the day I had they are really all good no matter how I handled them, simply because I had the day.

Woo-Hoo 300th Post!

I cannot believe I have 300 posts!

I have been slowing down but still got here!

Before I get to my post I would like to once again gush about all you great  ladies that share yourselves with me daily here in blogland.

Over my 300 posts the neighborhood has changed, people in, people out, our lives change, we move, we have new family  members, we have lost family members. It has been happy, exciting, scary and sad at times but we are still here and all getting to be better friends because of these events we all have in our lives.

Thanks guys, this has been my best project I have ever endeavored to do.

Now a real post as I know you hate it when I gush too much;)

I have several projects/challenges for myself lately and one is reading these books

They are really fun. Written like a television episode where you start with the mystery and go on to find the clues with the great leading Character. I can identify with her somewhat and they are set in Scotland♥ so I am really enjoying them. I have to get through them as I want to read them before they are due back to the library!

I hope to have another Woo-Hoo Wednesday post when I get them finished!

I am Overwhelmed

Thank You!

I do so appreciate all the wonder thoughts and even the tears you have shared with me. I am a little better today. 

My baby cousin Chase who HAD Neuroblastoma, YES I mean HAD, is done with treatments. His last scans are clean! I am so overjoyed. 

In the same conversation I shared that my dog was gone and found out my aunt and uncle lost their Yellow Lab, Bud, this weekend too. 

I have to say as much as I loved my Casey and their sweet Bud, I will trade them for sweet Chase's health.
I really wanted to answer each of you individually but you are all so sweet I just feel a bit overwhelmed by the number of sweet comments so PLEASE know I cherish each and everyone of them!  ♥

I only worked half a day today, we were not busy at work and that was fine. I wanted to be busy but if I couldn't be I am glad I could be home. Off again tomorrow and I will be back to visit!

You all mean so much to me.

Sally and Linus went to different homes But Linus got a really great noew home and Sally will be with her other brother Schroder!!

Thanks for your prayers!

Thank you for all the sweet wishes. My co-workers Grandmother was not expected to make it through Monday night. As I was off today I did not hear any news. The Living Will was too hard to interpret  so they are still waiting to be able to take her off machines. Then she will be back to Ohio. Her grandfather is at a rehab facility and will be there for sometime.

The woman who hit them is 72 and was blinded by glare from the snow. Her family has called them everyday to check in. The poor woman is on suicide watch. So please send prayers out for her to be able to get through this also.

Thank you also for your ideas on a button. I need to get my picture ready and then I will go out and see how to finish it!

Thankful for Family

I am so thankful for my family.

I got to go to my Aunt Barbara’s for breakfast on Saturday. Our cousins form Charleston were in town. Christine and Chuck have Olivia and Chase. Baby Chase has been battling Neurobalstoma for the past 7 months. He is 15months old!

I also found out the new year will bring ANOTHER  baby cousin!! I have 11 cousins on my father’s side. With my brother and I there are 13 of us.

It is always a blessing to get together. It has been longer than anyone can remember that we were all together. It had to be when we were all in school and since there are only two left in Collage and I’ve been out 17 years it’s been a long while!

I hope you enjoy the babies. Sorry no real pics of the big ones! hehe
