Warrior Football to be re-branded as New Balance in 2015-16?

Warrior Football, the kit supplier for Liverpool, Stoke City, Porto and Sevilla, will be re-branded as New Balance reports The Anfield Wrap, a popular website and magazine. New Balance is a parent company of Warrior Sports, who entered the football market in 2012.

The End of Warrior Football?

Warrior Sports was founded in 1992 by the former Lacrosse player David Morrow producing the game-changing titanium lacrosse shafts. In 2012, Liverpool FC announced at that time record-breaking deal with Warrior Football, a subsidiary of New Balance since 2004.
In late 2012, Warrior unveiled their first football boot, the Warrior Skreamer S-Lite. A few weeks later, the company signed Marouane Fellaini to wear their new Skreamer boots. Warrior Football also managed to sign several more world class players, including Vincent Kompany. It's very likely that Warrior Football will also swoop Samir Nasri and Álvaro Negredo soon, after both Manchester City players played with whiteout Warrior Boots.

In the case of Warrior Football is re-branded as New Balance, it's uncertain if New Balance keep the three Warrior silos (Skreamer, Gambler, Superheat) or will launch new silos in Summer 2014.

According to the Anfield Wrap, all current kits will be re-branded with the New Balance label from the 2015-16 season.

Warrior was often criticized by fans for their kit designs for the Liverpool 13-14 Away and Third Kits.

Nike to end Man United kit deal in 2015

After a day of speculation, it has now been confirmed that sportswear giant will not be making Manchester United’s kit from next season.

Late on Monday night a Reuters report claimed Nike would not continue their deal which ends next season, this was swiftly denied on Tuesday morning before a final confirmation.

This all came just hours after Manchester United’s new kits were revealed with the rather large Chevrolet design on the front.

Perhaps it is a reflection of the figures Manchester United were asking for – or that last season’s struggles mean the Old Trafford side are not the force they once were.

The same could of course be said about Nike in English football as from season 2015/2016 they will no longer make the kits for either Manchester United or Arsenal.

Adidas have been tipped to take over the Nike deal at Manchester United, but there are even some suggestions that Warrior, producer of some rank awful Liverpool kits, may also be in the bidding.

Two time Premier League winner Kolo Toure signs for Warrior

Ivory Coast international and Liverpool centre back, Kolo Toure, has officially become the latest player to join the Warrior Football ranks. A boot deal has been struck with the brand which will see Toure wear Warrior’s Skreamer  range.

Toure, who has spent 11 years in England with Arsenal, Manchester City and now Liverpool, is one of the Premier League’s most decorated defenders with two Premiership and three FA Cup winners’ medals among his career honours. Toure rose to notoriety during his tenure at Arsenal, displacing Martin Keown at the heart of the Arsenal defence to form a formidable partnership alongside Sol Campbell. It was this pairing which helped the Gunners claim the Premier League title without experiencing a single defeat; the team going on to be known as the infamous ‘Invincibles’.

On signing with Warrior, Toure said: “I believe Liverpool can win the league in the next few years. I know I’m at the right club to achieve my goals and now I feel I’m with the right brand to help me fulfill those ambitions. Liverpool Football Club has the right mentality, and during my time here, it’s been easy to see why the club chose Warrior to enter this new era. I’ve chosen to wear Skreamer because it’s a boot that offers both power and accuracy – the perfect match for my game!”

While at Manchester City, Toure helped the club to its first Premier League (old First Division) title in 44 years. With this achievement, he joined an illustrious group of five players to have won the Premier League title with two different clubs.

Toure is likely to join fellow Warrior players Vincent Kompany, Marouane Fellaini and Tim Cahill at next year’s World Cup in Brazil. The Ivory Coast captain will lead his country against Colombia, Greece and Japan, hoping to become the first African side to lift the famous gold trophy.

Ben Haworth, global sports marketing manager, said: “We are extremely proud to welcome Kolo to the brand. He is a player whose immense ability matches his strong personality and ambition! We want players who do things the Warrior way, letting their football do the talking and leading by example on the pitch. Kolo epitomises this mentality, every time he crosses the white line he leaves nothing in the changing room and anything less than 100 percent is simply not acceptable. He is a leader, a role model and a true Warrior!”
