Winsome Boy by Tractor

Winsome- charming in a childlike or simple way-attractive - pleasing to the eye or mind especially through beauty or charm.

Warning! major photo overload ahead. Who would have thought a tractor tire,
a dirty face
and an old Gap cap could be so cotton pickin' winsome?
That face... it draws my camera like a magnet and makes me want to squish the poor kid half to death with hugs and kisses.
I am especially fond of these pics because they encapsulate the last month or so of perfectly uninhibited summer potty training attire.
We are now back to the land of pants and yes, even gitchies... I'm terribly happy, but still slightly sappy about my baby transitioning with such ease into big boy pants...

I'm thinking I may be losing it if the thought of my baby being trained makes me feel like crying. Ya think?

Hi Prairie Chick! :)

You always have the cutest pictures!! When I saw your little one with his foot around that huge screw it made my heart stop for a second! I thought OMG how did that happen, then I realized he was just fine. Hehe.

I have met two young women who worked for the Humane Society in Oregon & Washington and helped to handle wild owls brought in with injuries. They remember getting bitten by a tick from the owl and later on became sick with Lyme Disease symptoms.

It isn't transfered flesh to flesh. Only from the bite of a tick directly into the blood stream. There is some information that points to the possibility of mosquitoes being carriers, but there just isn't enough clinical evidence to be sure.

It's quite likely that ticks are less of a problem where you are since Canada has such very cold long winters. It's unfortunate that doctors and scientists haven't been allowed to study which climates it thrives in the most and why exactly. I've been wondering this myself since it is very heavy in New Hampshire, Connecticut, and the East Coast, but also in the NW, Texas, and California. And none reported in Montana so far. People guess that drier climates with deer and mild winters are more prone, but no one knows 100%.

I'll keep compiling more detailed information including what I've done so that anyone can have access to "what to look for" and "best approaches for successful treatment" from all the Lyme people I've met & talked with as well as my own experience and what approaches LLMDs use. Hopefully it will help someone searching for answers in all the confusion, that's all I can ask for! :)

Hello---
Awe, your not losing anything...gaining years of "Mommy-hood" and the the reality that I still try to overcome...We truly "Have this moment" God is so good to us with these special gifts to care for and it takes to get thru the first couple and into to "big boy or girl pants" when we catch our breath...& look they are all growing up and it is so quickly that we never see it happen. My children know I am a sap at birthday's...did good for a while till it again, caught me...my oldest sweet girl will be 20...what 20yrs and our first son was 13 wew there are some in between that are just as special just those years are milestones...as first born son...should still be my baby (to me) (smile)...go ahead cry and rejoice it is a mix that becomes natural and your sweet oldest princess will become used to it! Smile...it's Mom she'll say! Your children all have such beautiful complections and brown eyes! They are lovely! Have a blessed day...and P.S. we at out home enjoyed seeing what you all do all day when it rains! We are so enjoying your blog! What is the story on "getting ready" for school? Prayers to you,
blessings,
Momma of 8

lololol - crying for joy, perhaps :) that now you only have to change one tiny bum instead of also changing one much larger (although still insanely cute) bum? I love it. Thanks for the morning pick-me-up, it's exactly what I needed :)

Those are just so precious! I always love your pictures!

And you should be rejoicing that he is potty trained!! But I know what you mean, we are getting ready to sell our cribs and it makes me sad, it is like it is the end of an era...

Any tips on potty training through the night? One of mine has been fully trained for probably 2 years now, the other still frequently wets a pull-up at night (he is 4 1/2). We have gone with just undies and I was washing sheets everyday, and got tired of it so we went back to pull-ups at night. Bribes have helped in no way... any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Have a good one!

Such cute pics! My youngest just turned two also, but I am not quite brave enough to let him run around in his birthday suit, but hey if it works, I might have to try it! I too think that I will cry when he is finally potty trained, It is just another one of those milestones of growing up:)

Hi, I came over here after visiting Ann. Took me wayyyy to long cause I had to keep looking at pictures. Love them!! Your little 2 year old looks so much like my little day care boy. I will have to post a pic of him tonight or tomorrow. It does my heart good to read all of you young Christian moms. Sometimes us older gals have a tendency to say "What happened to the young women today?" It is just a blessing to read your blog.

Soo adorable! I love the toes around the screw! My son used to flick his fingernail under my fingernails. I miss that. He's 14 now...and we are on to a whole other set of fun memories. Thanks for the reminder. I still remember my cute little boys in their big boy underwear. Seems like yesterday

cute pictures...I have never seen anyone potty train that way! What counts is if it works it works right! Congradulations on potty training even if it is a bitter-sweet milestone.

Tricia, my Prairie Boy is 4 as well, and he is still wearing pull ups at night. If we wake him up between 7 and 7:20 and send him packing to the bathroom first thing he is fine. But he sleeps like a log and does not wake himself up to go to the bathroom. The fact that he is still in a pullup is more due to our own laziness about the getting him up in the morning thing on a consistent basis. Our 2 year old on the other hand wakes up with the following words every morning, at approximately 7:00 "Mo-mmy.... po-tty!" Hooray. (said with understated enthusiasm. I'm so not a morning person. Oh well, it helps me get the other guy in the bathroom and we all get an early (for me) start.

Joy, I guess this is red neck potty training at it's finest. I didn't have to deal with a single stinky item of clothing, and through the whole affair we only had 2 misses, and that was because the little guy thought if he could go number one outside, why not number two?

So funny about the number two! I really don't think that form of potty training could work for a girl though you know..too bad because it could be tempting if we didn't live seeing distance from another house! My baby(18 months) is already crying peepee potty and well I guess I am still ignoring her although my husband tells me today..."You know it would save us a LOT of money if you would just go ahead and potty train her!"..and I am like you...I am NOT ready for my BABY to be potty trained! She is our last one and well once they get potty trained it just seems they grow up so fast!
My 4 yr old boy is still wearing pull ups at night also, although like you most time wakes up dry. But I have found there still are times he needs them because he also sleeps like a log and gets really upset when he finds out he wet the bed! So for now we are sticking to the pull up deal!

Oh, I like the next to last picture the BEST! So cute!

Summer potty training is the best. We've done our fair share of that here as well. :)
