Random Thoughts

I miss nasi lemak... I know I can cook it myself but I want the malay one with the yummy fried chicken :(

Well, I've been going through some blogs today and I realized many people have stopped blogging. No updates. Hmm... what happened?

Another friend told me he's getting married this year. Wah... so many getting hitched this year. So far I've already received 7 news. 1 of them getting married this Sat. Well, how to decide whose wedding to attend le? Just pay for air ticket only can ar? No need angpow : P Er.. but just paying air ticket also can make me pokai lor.

I miss my long curly hair. But I want to cut even shorter now. Should I? I want to change hairstyle but to what? What suits me?

Yeah! Tomorrow my CX buddies are coming. They have planned this trip even before I came over : P And it's going to happen. Our 1st trip together. And our first batch of guests. I made some Oreo cupcakes for them :)

My 1st scarf

Yeah, I finally finished knitting my 1st scarf. I brought it back to the shop to ask the aunty to close the ends for me and she 'scolded' me. I knitted too tight so it was shorter than it was supposed to be :P well, at least I finished it. Paul showed me a way that doesn't make it look so short. See! He looks like those Shanghai Tang movies. hahah!
Oh, actually I asked another lady to teach me some other patterns. Er... she was kinda fierce. I already acted innocent and used a soft tone to speak to her, yet she was like scolding me and knitted so fast. I was so scared and I tried my best to remember. When I came home, I forgot everything. I took it out and tried to remember the 1st pattern - which I could thankfully. So... same pattern. hahaha! But diff colour and diff material. I prefer this thread cos it makes the scarf neater and nicer.

Paktor-ing Day

It's paktor day today. Can't remember the last time we paktor-ed on a Sat. Don't recall having a full Sat on our own since we dated :P It was a really relaxing day for us. We went for dimsum. Watched "The Golden Compass" at the cinema - which had less than 10 people. 1st time in HK - we were in a place with no crowd. haha! I guess because watching movie is expensive here. We just gave it a try. It cost HKD55 per person and the seats weren't as comfortable as TGV or GSC. Worse still, all seats same level. Msia cinemas are great : P

Then, we went marketing. Grabbed some stuff and went home. It was quite a warm day so we decided to go swimming. But the pool was a little cold so we moved to the jacuzzi pool and it was so relaxing. Hot water. Aahh... after that dip, we felt so sleepy.

We also had some time to play Wii :) I won Paul in bowling. 200-157. Yahoo!

Temporary Job

I got a job today! Yay. I became a tour guide (only today and no pay) hahaha! I think I am a better HK tour guide than a Msian one : P It's like while I'm a tour guide, I am also a tourist. Lena came over to meet Harry. Ok, I know these 2 names sounds foreign in my blog. Well, the story goes... It's Lena's 1st trip here and Harry was supposed to work today so she msg me whether I can bring her around. She was my tuition mate but we have never spoken before. Err..since I am not working and knowing Harry is Serena's close friend, I agreed la. Sounds weird? Yeah, a little. I felt so as well. Kaka! But seriously I didn't mind.

However, Harry managed to get leave so we went out together. I volunteered to be their camera woman for the new couple : P We walked so much. From Mongkok all the way to Tsim Tsa Tsui that's about 5plus till 8pm. We had a great time though it's our 1st time going out together. I tried to make them comfortable having me around even though we've never really hung out before. (I hope I did) I know how the feeling. If you don't really know this person, then you have to spend time with them, then the awkward feeling... You know what I mean? not saying I'm good la. Just practising my "sociabilitiy". It's a New Year. hahahah! Excuse.

Farewell Dinner

Paul had diarrhea yesterday night. It was bad. He woke me up in the middle of the night. We couldn't find the carbon pills. It was very painful. I have no choice but went down and asked the guard for medicine. She gave me 'pou jai yuen'. Better than nothing la. After he took the pills, he managed to sleep till morning. He took MC lor. What to do.

I went out dinner as Sabine is leaving tomorrow. We had yummy Korean food. Of course, I cooked for Paul before I went out la :P I wont torture him.

Macau Trip

Paul and Inness, 2 lazy bum bums. They were tired so only us 3 ladies went to Macau today. Never been to Macau before so it was a new experience for me. Nothing much to see but lots of food man. Since Fri till now, Ada has been asking me, "Why do you love to eat so much ar?" "How come you can eat so much, still so thin ar?" "Can you stop eating ar?" hahahaha! Well, I am Msian la.

I don't really like this place but of course this is better than Shenzhen la. It's like a small town here. The buildings made me recall Malacca.

Do you see the Portuguese egg tarts?

We tried some homemade ice-cream too :)

Yummy Portuguese food!Later, we went to visit 2 casinos. And... guess what happened? Before we went in, we had to put our bags at the luggage counter. This is the conversation.

Lady: You enough age ar? (direct translation).
Eiz: Of course la.
Lady: But now I think it's 21 and above wor.
Eiz: I am 25 already la.
Lady: You sure ar. Please sign the luggage receipt. Oh no, you better don't sign. Ask you friend. Just in case they don't let you in.
Eiz: (puzzled)

So we went to the scanning door.

Guy: How old are you?
Eiz: 25
Guy: You look so young. Let me see your passport.
Eiz: Here you go. I am 25 la.
Guy: What medicine you eat. How come you look so young?
Eiz: (puzzled)

This scenario happened at both casinos that I went to.
Note: We didn't gamble lar, just look only.

Shenzhen Trip

Yeah! Today is Paul's 1st trip to China (and my 2nd trip to Shenzhen). I went there with mum about 5 years ago. A very different feeling and experience. This time around, I didn't enjoy it. I don't like the place, the people the environment. It's kinda scary. I didn't feel safe. Shopping there requires so much bargaining. Argh! Hate the feeling.

We saw a half rainbow. So beautiful. The rainbow is real. I didn't add it in. The fake Niagara unintentionally created a rainbow... haha.

Well, thank God we had good company. We had fun visiting Windows of the World. Nice la but... it's just not the same. Eiffel Tower is right behind Arc de Triumph. And you can see the pyramids from Niagara Falls... or something like that lah... actually it's quite frustrating. Just makes you wanna go to the real place.

We had a great night after that tho. We went to this massage place, very good. Never been to such a professional massage place. It's huge, the service is superb with free fruits and drinks plus... you can use sauna, steam room, water massage, take bath and they give you disposable underwear : P. You can even stay overnight, play games, watch tv etc etc etc. For the price we paid (about RM90 each), I think in KL, you can only enjoy 1.5hr massage and with no other facilities. Maybe a cup of tea la.

Day Out

Ada's friend Sabine from Switzerland came over for a holiday so she invited me to join them. First stop was Mong Kok for Yunnan noodles. This was not planned. We just came across the restaurant. Quite a nice place. You can choose the Level of Spicyness... from 1-6. Sabine and I chose 2 and Ada chose 1. It was sooooo spicy man. I am a Msian who loves chilli and I can't take it. I can't imagine Level 6. I ate till my tongue was burning.

Then, we had desert. Very yummy ones - mango pancake, mango & pomelo sago, some taro thingy and tau foo fah in red bean.

Paul and Inness joined us for dinner at a restaurant near Lan Kwai Fong. Oh, that beancurd is the not so smelly, smelly beancurd. hahaha!

Followed by an after dinner stroll to LKF, Soho and finally some tong sui before heading home.
