Now, then. My dear friend, Amy, helps me out every year by designing cards for the Stamping Spot. She and I have very different tastes, and I like to give my customers other ideas than mine. It gives Amy a chance to get her hands on the IN COLORS early, as well as the IBC. :D And this is the first one I want to share with you. Isn't it fun? That crustacean has quite the antennae! :D

(By the way, I got my birthday present early, so don't think you're late if you're still looking for the PERFECT thing.... :D) We're shooting a wedding the weekend of my birthday, and Kenn wanted to make sure I had plenty of time to learn the ins and out of my new camera and lens. :)

New products!

Good morning! I hope you've had a chance to look through your new Idea Book & Catalog! There are some really fun new sets, and a whole lot of great new accessories.

The card on the left is one of the two projects we did at the Open House last Friday; the colors are two of the new IN COLORs, Summer Starfruit (the greenish-yellow) and Midnight Muse (the dark blue). I have to say, I really do like this color combination; it seems to me to be an outstanding combination for male cards!

The cake is from MAKE A CAKE; the banner stamp is from ITTY BITTY BANNERS - which coordinates with the new Big Shot BITTY BANNERS FRAMELITS. The designer series paper is called PATIO PARTY; the card on the right is what I got when I reversed the DSP. I obviously had to make it a landscape-oriented card, because of the print, but I think it really works that way, too. I'd probably use it for younger guys, like perhaps a teenager, but it's still got a more masculine feel to it, I think.

Kenn's using the cameras to go shoot the fireworks, so it's going to be some time before I can get the birthday cards ready to judge. I apologize - we're down TWO cameras, so it's really difficult right now.

However, I DO have something to share! :) This is one of the two cards we did for the NEW IDEA BOOK & CATALOG OPEN HOUSE on Thursday.

This is the front; I really wanted this hostess-only set from the Summer Mini, so it's what I chose for my last party. :) It's called LOVE & CARE; it reminds me of a set we had a few years ago. :)

So, here we go - and a picture of the inside of the card follows, too!

I made a few more of these with the extra I had cut; when I stamped the flowers in the corners on the inside, I second- and third-generation stamped them, so there are three faint flowers overlapping in each corner.

It's JUNE, and you know what that means!

That's right! It's time for the ANNUAL BIRTHDAY CARD CONTEST!

Now, I don't want anyone to think I'm perfect at sending out stuff. HA! Our winner from LAST year is finally notified that I've sent her prize. ::::::::::::SIGH:::::::::: But I'll do better, I promise! THIS year, your prize(s) will come out of my stash! :D So I won't have a HUGE reason for not sending them. LOL!

Since I usually start this contest earlier, I'm giving you until the end of the month - JUNE 30!! - to get your cards to me.

There are TWO categories this year: popular vote and MY vote.

You may use whatever you wish to create your birthday card for me. HOWEVER, for My Vote, all Stampin' Up! counts more. :D

It's a VERY striking, easy, elegant card. And I REALLY like this particular quote - as a matter of fact, you'll see it tomorrow on the sample I'll show you! :)

Yup, I know it's the weekend, but I haven't shared too much with y'all lately - so consider it my way of thanking you for sticking around! :D

Not only did I have lots of retired things for sale, we had a great time looking at the new Idea Book & Catalog, and I had three projects to stamp! I'm going to use a bold N for new stuff for a couple of days or so.... Even the old IN COLORS that are now back! :)

The "thank you" stamp that comes with the set is on the inside, along with the second-generation stamp of the hydrangea. It's a very calming, peaceful card!

PHEW!!!!!!!!!!!! This new Idea Book & Catalog has meant BIG cleaning, BIG planning, and BIG help around the studio!! Amy came over yesterday to help me, bless her!!!

Tackling the Inspiration Station is a DAUNTING task, with the color renovation! It's on my TO DO for today!

The big challenge is remembering which colors are gone for the new year! :) I'm also designing some new things for the Station; the new colors are so exciting to work with!


I've got LOTS of retired cards for sale; I'm thinking of going ETSY with them. Any opinions out there about ETSY?

SO much going on!!

I'm so sorry I didn't get this posted yesterday; I really meant to!!!! There's just a lot going on around here, besides today being the LAST DAY FOR THE SPRING/SUMMER 2009 IDEA BOOK & CATALOG!!!

Without further ado, here's today's sample. PLEASE NOTE! I will be posting again later, so be sure to come back. :)
Isn't it adorable??? Stampin' Up!® had this idea on their website, but I tweaked it to make it mine. :D

The "YUM" is spelled out with DEFINE YOUR LIFE ALPHA; the rest of the stamps are in the set, UNDER THE STARS. Besides that, all you need is one of our large cello bags, Very Vanilla, Real Red, and Creamy caramel card stocks, Basic Brown and Real Red inks, a Stamp-a-ma-jig, and Stampin' Write markers. Oh, and we used the 1-3/4" circle punch to punch out the s'more.

I just LOVE this project. It ALMOST makes me wish I had some kids to take on a hay ride. :D This would be a fun project for Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Sunday School classes - heck, you name it! :D
