7-YEAR-ITCH: SUMMER mixes.
Of the 345 songs that appeared on the 16 "regular" P of A mixes of 2012, here follow the 39 that most successfully insinuated themselves into my oft-soporific, oft-sentimental, oft-sodden subconscious. That they appeared here once means that I liked them; that they appear here twice means that I've officially gone all Sally-Field-ass-over-Oscar-speech for them. In other words, over the course of one short year, these once-bashful tracks have grown from giddy Gidgets to noble Norma Raes, and I'm proud as punch to present them to you in all their newly-uncocooned beauty.
Oh, and... just to be clear... neither the songs nor the mixes are listed in order of preference, merely arranged in what I hope will make for a smooth-yet-varied listening experience. Also, not all tracks are, technically, from the year 2012. My mixes would sooner contain a Miley Cyrus song than be confined by calendars.

[Alas, no new mixes for you just yet, fine folks. But be ye not impatient: Mixes ye shall have, forthrightly. But, first, if I may be permitted this most desultory of diversions.... In recent weeks, in sorting through and summing up and making sense of my various aural enjoyments of 2012, it occurred to me that it might not be altogether inappropriate to fashion a list of my favorite albums from this past year.
