Merry and bright

I am finally starting to work on Christmas projects and today I opened a new Sizzix die that I recently bought from the store. There are a total of 10 bigz dies that come with a bonus textured impressions folder and this one is the stocking die. I made mine into a card by first folding the cardstock in half and placing the fold at the top of the stocking. I used the elephant from Dandelion Designs new cling set called "happy hello". The lollipop is from the "so sweet" set. I used glossy accents on the lollipop to give it a shine.
I'll be at the store tomorrow doing a make & take from 10-12 pm. We'll be using a bunch of these stamps.
Thanks for stopping by today and hope you have a wonderful weekend!!!

The best things in life are friends

Happy humpday! I thought I'd take a break from making Halloween projects and make an everyday card instead. I bought a bunch of new stamps by Lala Land Crafts from the store last weekend and here's one of the stamps I used on my card today. This one is called "big panda Marci". She's so cute with her Ugg boots. For this card I took out one of my older dies from Sizzix called A2 card and used the window pane movers & shapers die to cut out the window. I'm so glad I still have these dies.
I used a Studio Calico stamp by Hero Arts for the background called "alphabet pattern" and embossed it with clear embossing powder.
Hope you're having a wonderful evening and thanks for stopping by!!!

Supplies:
Lala Land Crafts - Big Panda Marci
Sizzix A-2 card die, window panes movers & shapers

Friend to friend Halloween

I picked up a bunch of new items from the store the other day and made a Halloween card using Dandelion Designs Ping from the "friend to friend" set. I wanted to make him look like he was in a costume so I colored him green with copic markers. He's so cute! The purple background is actually white cardstock that I cut out using Spellbinder's "wonky rectangles" nestablities and using Tim Holtz distress inks, I inked the background in dusty concord.
Then I embossed it with Tim Holtz's texture fades Halloween & backgrounds set.
The pumpkins and trick or treat bag is from Dandelion Designs Halloween set.
Here's a picture of the make & take Halloween candy treat holder that I did at J's 2 weeks ago. We used the monster stamp from Dandelion Designs "smile" set.
Thanks for stopping by and hope you're having a great week!!!

Sizzix Fresh Vintage Blog Hop - Flower Layers #9

Hi and welcome to the Sizzix Fresh Vintage blog hop! We are on the 2nd week of the blog hop and for today's project, we were asked to use "flower layers #9" from Eileen Hull's Fresh Vintage collection. Since Halloween is coming up at the end of this month, I decided to make a card using the die.
I used Sizzix album, fanciful XL die for the background of my card. First I stamped "Happy Halloween" from The Stamps of Life clear set, and I used leftover die cut pieces in black and white from a class we did last year and embossed it with the spider textured impressions folder from the spider & spiderweb set.
I cut the label design with my Eclips machine using the basic shapes cartridge. While working on my project, I kept thinking about candy corn which is why I chose the 3 colors for my flower.
And because I love using glitter, I poured chunky white glitter over each flower piece. Here's a close up of the glittered flower.

Pumpkin punch around the page

When I first saw this pumpkin punch at the store, I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. I like how versatile it is. I decided to make a pumpkin face shaker card to attach to the matchbox pro die that I have. You can punch it out anywhere on your paper. I used Dandelion Designs pumpkin face stamp from last year to give my pumpkin a face. The cute stamp is "pumpkin" from CC Designs.I cut the grass out with my Eclips machine using the Edges cartridge. And the embossed background is a Tim Holtz embossing folder. The pretty orange sheer ribbon is American Crafts which I bought last week from Ben Franklin Crafts.
And because I didn't want to waste the punched out pumpkin, I used it to decorate the inside of my card.
Word stamp is also Dandelion Designs. See, I stamped the face on the pumpkin.
Here is what the punch looks like and the face stamp.
Hope you're having a great Tuesday and thanks for stopping by!!!

Webbed Kiyomi

Happy Monday! Ok, I didn't know what to put as my title but did it catch your eye? I just spent half of my day cutting kits for this Saturday's make & take at Ben Franklin Crafts 60th anniversary party at the Paa St. store. We will be using this CD holder die that I used to make this Kiyomi project but using different dies to finish it.
While I was cutting kits, I decided to make a Halloween project using Kiyomi from Sister Stamps. Yes, I tend to do several things at the same time. And I wanted to try coloring her hair like how Jenny mentioned on her Sister Stamps site. The paper that I used to cut the CD holder is an old Making Memories paper that I have been hoarding. You can't really see it but the spider webs are made from velvet material. It's the coolest thing.
The orange piece is a Cheery Lynn Designs die called "inverted scallop circles" which I got from the store.
Well, hope this weather cools down because I still have a lot more to do before this weekend.
Thanks for stopping by and leaving your sweet comments!!!

For fun

As I was going through my piles of scrap mess, I found a Sizzix die buried under it all. The die is called zigzag 3-D pop-up by Karen Burniston. It is the easiest pop-up die to put together. And so for fun, I used Dandelion Designs newest cling sets called "Smile" and "Halloween".
Sorry if this picture is kind of bright but I'm still learning how to use my photo program.
I stamped 2 of the same monsters but colored them in different colors.
I love how each character in the new cling sets have that extra hand stamp so you can have them holding something.
Here's what the zigzag 3-D pop-up looks like behind the stamped image. This die is so much fun and so many ways of creating with it.
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by today!!!

It's that time of year

Sometimes while I'm working on a project, my mind goes blank. So I tend to stray away and work on something else. These days that means playing with all the different cartridges for my Eclips machine. While making this witches hat, I decided to use the Halloween and Scaredy Cat cartridge to decorate my hat.
And because I made the witches hat in black, I wanted to make sure that you could see the black spider. So I cut the spider in black and also a taupe color and placed the taupe paper under the black spider to outline it.
That's a new Hero Arts stamp from the "Spooky Halloween" set that I stamped on the orange rectangle piece. The box that I used is an older Sizzix XL die called triangle box.
Hope you're having a fun filled holiday weekend and thanks for popping in and leaving your sweet comments!!!

Sitting Marci

I am really liking this new die from Cheery Lynn Designs that I picked up from the store over the weekend. The die itself is probably not new but for me it is a new die. It is called "inverted scallop circles" and they are nesting dies. I decided to use "Sitting Marci" from LaLa Land Crafts for my card.
I layered the papers before cutting out the circle in the middle. The patterned paper is from Echo Park which I've been hoarding but I've told myself that it's time to let go and use up the papers.
For the window, I put a piece of clear acetate between the layered papers.
And that cute little "hello" stamp is from Dandelion Designs. We will be using this stamp this coming Saturday at Ben Franklin Crafts Pearl City's paper party. I'll be there from 10-11 am doing a make & take. Sorry, I got sidetracked. Back to my card. Not sure if you can see it but I used a scallop border punch to make the bird border.
On the inside of the card, I covered it with the bird side of the paper and a strip of the houndstooth pattern.
Well, thanks for stopping by today and I hope I get to do some crafting this week!

Happy Thursday

This is one of those times where I can't think of a title for my post. Have you ever been there too? And this Magnolia image almost went into my trash can over the weekend but I decided to save her and finish it. I had to stamp a bunch of Magnolia images for my husband so he could show his customers what the stamps looked like. This one smeared when I stamped it. But after coloring her, you can't even see it.I'm not sure why I chose the color yellow but it's a happy color.
The white doily was cut from a die from Cheery Lynn called "french pastry". One of my favorite dies to use these days.
On Saturday August 27th from 10-11 am, I will be doing a make & take at the Ben Franklin Crafts Pearl City store for their annual paper party. We'll be making an interactive card and it will be a lot of fun so I hope you can make it!
Thanks for stopping by today and hope you have a great weekend!!!

Happy Birthday!!!

Well, today is my gf Teri's birthday and here is the card that I made for her over the weekend. I hope she doesn't see it before I give it to her. I used the Create a Critter cartridge from Cricut for the hedgehog. So cute! Happy birthday stamp is from Dandelion Designs. Embossed card is a Sizzix embossing folder which I can't remember the name right now.
Thanks for stopping by as always and leaving your sweet comments! Have a great and wonderful day.

Just for you

I was at the store about a month ago and found some clear acetate paper and thought about making something with it using the Eclips machine. I chose this top handle bag style since I knew that there was only one side that needed to be taped to assemble the bag. I was surprised that the Ghirardelli chocolate squares fit perfect in it. I used the hedgehog stamp from Dandelion Designs "hello" set. Oops, I kind of smeared the glitter glue on the flower.
The little white tag is a Martha Stewart punch and the lace border is also a Martha Stewart punch.
Lately, I've been feeling a little uncomfortable where we live. We have a shoe thief that has been stealing our shoes. It's a creepy feeling knowing that it is someone in our neighborhood that is watching us to see when we leave the house. So, we had to put all our everyday shoes and slippers inside the house to stop this thief from stealing them.
Well, I have a bunch of cards to make this weekend and I hope I can finish them and also post them.
Thanks for stopping by and leaving your sweet comments! Have a great evening!!!

Wishing you oceans of joy

It's been over a week that I actually sat down to make something crafty and feeling much better since catching a nasty cold. I found this Lala Land stamp called "Beach Marci" in the store last week and had to have it. She's so cute in her swimsuit. I used a Fiskars border punch for the edge of the orange cardstock. And the stamped words are a clear set from Hero Arts called oceans of joy.
Lately I've been feeling kind of lazy and not really in the crafting mood. So today I attempted to rearrange my craft area hoping that would motivate me to make something. I did find things that I forgot I even had. Some of them are so old that they ended up in the trash.
Well, thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful evening!!!

Kiyomi treat bag

Happy 4th of July!!! It felt so good to get out of the house today after being sick in bed for several days. We went outlet shopping, the malls, Ross's and all I can say is my husband is out of control! Lol!
Here's a treat bag that I made using one of the new stamps, that was just released on July 1st from a new company called Sister Stamps from the Big Island. This one is called Kiyomi. I put her on a treat bag that is made from a Hero Arts envelope. We made this same treat bag last year for Halloween for a make & take at J's.
I stamped the envelope background with a Hero Arts stamp set called Sweet Threads Labels in pink Memento ink. The top of the bag is closed with a miniature clothespin from 7 Gypsies. I put Kiyomi's butterfly on top of the clothespin. The punched border is a Martha Stewart punch.
Sorry if the picture is dark but I've been having problems taking photos in my kitchen because the light doesn't work. So I've been using flash, which leaves a shadow in the background.
Hope you're all having a really great 4th of July weekend and spending it with your families! Thanks for stopping by today and have a great evening!!!

One fish

I must of been one of the few people who didn't own a Cricut Create a Critter cartridge until recently. My gf Teri gave me one for my birthday and I've been cutting animal pieces out at night and still need to put them together. I'm so glad this one is much simpler to assemble than the older cartridges that I have. Thanks Teri, I'm enjoying this one!A few things happened prior to using it. First I had to dust my machine off since it's been way over 2 years, then I couldn't find my mat. I spent 15 minutes searching for my mat, so I ended up opening a new package and after I was done cutting, I turned around and right there on my shelf were 3 used mats! Ugh!
Anyways, first I cut the fishbowl out of clear acetate that I bought from the store. Funny thing because over the weekend, I decided to pick up some clear acetate for no reason. I thought about the sticky adhesive getting all over the clear acetate but it actually came off the mat clean. Hope you can see it here. The stamp is a Hero Arts clear stamp from last year.
Thanks for stopping by today and check back soon because I'm working on some other ones to post.

Friends thank you cards

Happy humpday! I spent part of last weekend making some thank you cards to mail out during the week. I really should make a bunch of them so I always have some on hand. For this card, I used Dandelion Designs new friends stamp. There wasn't much to color because I paper pieced the kimono's on the girls. All the paper used is from a 6x6 Basic Grey paper pad called Sweet Threads which I bought from the store. The thank you stamp is from a Hero Arts set called Florentine Message Border. It is becoming one of my favorite thank you stamps. I used Spellbinders lacey circle die for the girls.
Hope you're having a wonderful day, I think I'm starting to catch my husband's cold. Thanks for stopping by today!!!

Wish you were here

I started this card off to be simple but then I started punching and die cutting and ended up with a whole background scene. Lol! Actually, I really love this new die called scallop circle 3-D pop-up by Karen Burniston. It is so easy to make a pop-up card with this die. There is nothing to piece together.I used Camera Brigitta from CC Designs. The white border on the card is a border punch from EK Success, the cloud punches are from Fiskars, the sun, banner and words are all cut from the Eclips machine. The grass punch is a MS punch and the red flowers are from an old Hello Kitty die.
I used glossy accents on her glasses and camera lens to give it a shine although you can't really see it in the photo.
I cut the acetate scallop circle pop-up from one of the textured impressions folder package since I didn't have any acetate paper. Now I wish I kept all those packages to recycle. I hope you can see in this photo how it pops up. Also, I used Tombow clear adhesive for vellum to attach the acetate to the card. You can barely see the adhesive through the acetate.
Here's what the Sizzix die looks like.
Thanks for stopping by today and hope your week is going well!!!

Simple thank-you cards

When the new jewelry dies from Sizzix arrived at the store, I went down there to purchase this die called frame & sculpted flower. These dies are actually original dies so you can use them for all your paper crafts.
I had to make some thank-you cards and went with a very simple look. I used Hero Arts solid dot background stamp for the card background.
The thank you stamp is from Hero Arts called florentine message border. This first card is orange with turquoise flowers.
The 2nd card is pink with orange flowers. I stamped the flower with Hero Art's friend definition background stamp.
And the last card is turquoise with pink flowers. I stamped the flower in pink ink and used Hero Art's friend definition background stamp again.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope I'll be able to post another card before the weekend. Have a great evening!!!
