October Finishes- Fingers Crossed

It's time again for that big commitment:
I can't say that I get everything finished that I say I am going to finish during the month...

but I do get things moving in that direction and

even if I don't get done what I plan to get done...

I do get some things done! So with that in mind...

here are my picks for the Charming Girls Quilt Club.

(What I hope to get finished this month)!

Are you laughing? I thought so!

This is a small Crabapple Hill stitchery... looks like it would be do-able.

This is a loyalty wallet tutorial that I want to do at my retreat. Easy peasie!

I still have this guy on my sewing table! Just some embellishment & borders and wha-la!

This is a store sample... and I absolutely have to have it done by November 1.

NO ifs, ands' or buts' this is the next Schnibble for November... gotta get this one done!

We have 24 days left in October... I don't see where this will be a problem! *g*

What To Do?

I had requested Friday off from work so that I could squeeze out a 4 day weekend. But as it turned out, it was going to be a busy day... so, not-wanting-to-miss-out on anything,
I went in to work.
We didn't really have any great plans for the holiday weekend... just some quilting, maybe a movie, & some cleaning... so it was alright.

However, Friday evening we did go over to Bass Lake and had, my favorite, a burger at
Millers Landing before getting on the boat and going out to listen to
Labor Day weekend marks the end of summer around here and that was to be the Friday night to have music and fireworks on the lake for the season. It was amazingly quiet at the lake. Their didn't seem to be as many people camping as usual.
I am wondering if it's a sign of the economy? Anyway...

It's time to show my "big ideas" of what I would like to get accomplished this month for the Charming Girls Quilt Club. I started working on my store sample for the Fig Tree Club the other day and should get the top completed this weekend.
I am still trying to finish this quilt for my son. It is as big as the pattern called for but I need to make it bigger for him... so I just have a few more blocks to complete and put the border on.

This time I am throwing the mystery Schnibbles project in the mix, because that is something I will most definitely get completed this month!

And don't try to peek at what it is!LOL

I started this little Late Bloomer project last year and it looks like it's time to get it back out and finish up the embroidery part so that I can get this finished and hanging for Fall.

I stood in my sewing room looking at what I wanted to post for the CGQC, and like everyone else there was a plethora of choices... I just wish I could work as fast as my mind thinks I can! But just as things get finished there are other temptations... for instance...
Camille of Thimble Blossoms posted her newest patterns this week and I have been playing with them in my mind ever since. They are really cute patterns and most were designed to use with layer cakes. Her Velvet Cake pattern is just so sweet!

Spa Bags & What's New In The Line Up

I'm back... and I have my pictures now. I didn't get photos of the spa bags and things I sent out but I do have photos from the magazines that I got the pattern from, so I can show you that. The spa bag came out again recently in a special publication. I think it was called Bags, Purses and Pillows. Something like that anyway. So here it is and you just have to
imagine it in the Shangra-la fabrics.

Here is a picture of it from the original publication it came out of.
This is the neck wrap filled with lavender and rice. It's really soothing! I hope I am redeemed for not getting pics of the ones I actually made:)

Now, for the August Charming Girls Quilt Club "commit to finish" projects:
First on my list is a pincushion fro Miss Rosie! I am excited to make this so that will be an easy one (or two).

This is a quilt that I started for #1 son... the one that just was home visiting. I need to get this done big time. He's been waiting... but it hasn't been that long yet! The pattern is called Bouillabaisse. I have seen it made up in several colorways and they all look great. I wanted to use the Diawabo fabrics for his.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed to get my Confetti Cake quilt finished off also. (I slipped in my new French General pincushion). Now, I know you haven't seen the finished July project yet but that one will be done by the end of this month also. So Kelly, here they are... piece of cake! (confetti cake?)

Thanks for visiting!
