Whisking Wednesday
I would just like to thank everyone that participated in all past Whisking Wednesday parties. I have decided to stop hosting them as I find I just simply don't have the time. I rather put a little more time and effort into getting my recipes posted which seem to sit here for a week or two at a time before I get to them. My wonderful children keep me very busy which I quite enjoy and I never seem to remember to do this. Everyone have a great Halloween!

Whisking Wednesdays #22
Welcome to Whisking Wednesdays!
So I'm not going to say I'm late since technically by the time I post this it is still Wednesday somewhere in the states, it just so happens to be Thursday in Japan. Super busy week this week like always. Seems that I've had nothing but pumpkin on my mind lately. I can't seem to stock up on enough canned pumpkin from the store and they seem to always run out leaving me quite sad until the next shipment comes in. This week I'm thinking it is time to stick a pumpkin pie in the oven. Nothing says fall and holidays like a pumpkin pie. Hope you all are prepared for Halloween and had a great week this week.
Thank you all who participated in this week's Whisking Wednesdays and hope to see you back again this week!

Whisking Wednesdays #21
Welcome to Whisking Wednesdays!
Ok, so I'm late again. I was on time for a few weeks in a row and it seems I'm back to being totally forgetful of what day it is. Habit of someone that doesn't work and my husband has a rotation schedule so isn't off on weekends but every 4 days instead. So needless to say I get so very confused! Plus, spending over 2 hours in the car multiple days of the week taking my daughter to and from school just drains my brain power. Driving in Japan is insane and totally exhausting and nothing like I've ever seen before. Take everything you've learned as right and normal from the states and just immediately toss it out the window. Running red lights - acceptable. Parking and/or stopping in the middle of the road, any road, with no regards for traffic - acceptable. Swerving into oncoming traffic to go around all the parked/stopped cars in the road - acceptable. Pedestrians jumping out into traffic without ever looking in your direction - acceptable. Motorcycles and mopeds swerving in and out of traffic and around cars and creating their own lanes without any regard for personal safety or the other vehicles - even more acceptable! But I'm not complaining, I love in here and couldn't be happier! Hope everyone else had a wonderful week and I can't wait to see all the new recipes linked up!

Whisking Wednesdays #20
Welcome to Whisking Wednesdays!
I love the fall. I love walking into the stores and seeing pumpkins and all the fall vegetables coming out, like acorn and butternut squash. I love watching the leaves turn and the weather get cooler. This is my favorite time of year. I'm already thinking of all the stews and pies that need to be made as the weather gets cooler. I love making pies, especially pumpkin!

Whisking Wednesdays #19
Welcome to Whisking Wednesdays!
Whew, another one of those weeks that just flew right by me and so fast that I'm late getting this party going! The weather has finally turned to Fall here in Japan and it is just absolutely incredible outside. I want to spend every minute of every day out there! Which leaves little time in the kitchen BUT sometimes you just gotta get out there and enjoy the weather a bit. Soon it'll be winter and I'll have plenty of time to make those warm hearty fill your belly meals while hiding from the cold. Halloween is coming, yeah! I'm already on the look out for some awesome Halloween treats I can make with my daughter!

Whisking Wednesdays #18
Welcome to Whisking Wednesdays!
I can't believe it is almost October! It is still in the high 80's daily here in Japan so it feels like Fall weather is never coming. I'm thinking of starting to make some pumpkin recipes despite the weather very soon. My baby girl is about to turn 4 and wants to go to school so very bad so this week has been filled with phone calls and tours of pre-schools for her. It is amazing how eager they are to leave home, make friends, learn and jump into the world that we all wish we could get out of sometimes! I hated school, I hated work but am thankful that I love what I do now, I love staying home and taking care of my babies everyday. It is a privilege that not all mothers are able to do and I love my husband so much for making it possible. Plus, that gives me plenty of time to get in the kitchen and bake up a storm almost every day which I too love! Oh yeah, did I mention we are currently getting slammed with a tropical storm.

Whisking Wednesdays #17
Welcome to Whisking Wednesdays!
Ahh another week gone. Where does the time go? We've had tons of fun in the kitchen lately making cookies and homemade pasta. My kids both love helping me. My 1 year old's new word is "dough". He comes into the kitchen and when I pick him up he sees dough on the counter and points and gets so exciting saying "dough, dough". He loves to get his hands and my kitchen dirty! Hope you all had a wonderful week as well.

Whisking Wednesdays #16
Welcome to Whisking Wednesdays!
Not sure about the rest of you but I've been cooking up a storm lately with so many new recipes I've wanted to try. Of course, with two small children it isn't quite as easy to get them posted though! I hope all of you are enjoying the last bits of warm weather and Summer before we hit Fall. I'm getting excited for the change of seasons as before we know it Christmas will be here. I know, most people aren't thinking about Christmas yet as it is only September but Christmas is my favorite holiday so I'm always thinking about it. But first my little girl is turning 4 in a month. I can't believe that! Keeping my eyes open trying to figure out the perfect cake or cupcake recipe to make for her!

Whisking Wednesdays #15
Welcome to Whisking Wednesdays!
Another week gone by so fast. Seems like Summer is starting to wind down and for most with school aged children the Summer is over. I'm hoping for plenty more sunshine and warm weather here in Japan though I have to say the Fall is my absolute favorite time of the year. I love that the holidays are approaching and the wonderful weather the Fall brings with it. Plus, no better time to start with tons of pumpkin recipes than the Fall along with lots of soups and stews, this is going to be a fun Fall!

Whisking Wednesdays #14
Welcome to Whisking Wednesdays!
Seems I'm back on tracking getting this link-up done in a timely fashion and think I'll even manage the time to thank everyone properly for their link-ups! So many of the link-ups this week made me want to get in the kitchen and try something new. My list of items to bake seems to be growing rapidly!
Thank you all who participated in this week's Whisking Whednesdays. There were so many tasty link-ups I had trouble deciding on just three! I think I'm going to be quite busy in the next few weeks trying to make some of these!

Ok, the second I saw these S'mores Truffles I rushed right out to buy a few items to make these. They looked so perfect and delicious. I didn't have the stuff to make the filling like this recipe so I'm going to re-make these this week. Even though my filling was different than her recipe they were still AMAZING! These truffles definitely won't disappoint!

What drew me into this recipe is the picture. The colors are beautiful and it looks just so sinfully perfect. I've actually never tried black currants before but this definitely made me want to find some!

I'd have to say one of my favorites fruits is peaches. I'm from the South and grew up eating fresh peaches all the time. Just the sound of peaches and cream on or with anything makes my mouth water. Not to mention a homemade waffle, yum!
