Countdown has begun

So today I have something a little different to show you for my One Crazy Stamper blog post - this is one of three advent calendars that I completed last month for friends and family.  I apologize for the poor quality photo, but I needed to get this one delivered before the end of November so that it could be mailed out, and as usual I didn't finish it until the last moment.

The base of the calendar is an older Kaisercraft kit, that you assemble and then decorate with your choice of paper, ink and embellishments.  After painting all of the pieces I choose dp from Simple Stories Cozy Christmas collection to decorate all of the boxes and the sides of the calendar.  All of the edges were inked with  Versafine Vintage Sepia, then the fun began.  I used a mix of embellishments to decorate the individual boxes including ribbon, brads, charms, buttons, Tim Holtz Idea-ology Countdown Charms, while the center scene was built with Tim Holtz bottle brush trees, and a bird bath ornament.

Let It Snow Greetings

Hard to believe but there are only 20 days left before Christmas arrives, and I don't know about you but I am not even close to being prepared.  Somewhere I need to find more time in the days!  I did finally get the chance to color and today's card is the final result.

My card features another adorable image from High Hopes stamps entitled Hope For Peace Snowy that I have colored with Copics.  Lately I have been seeing cards on Pinterest and blogs that show the image with white lines, so after I finished coloring the image, I took a Sakura white glaze pen and traced over all of the black lines - the finished result really gives a different look to the image.  The image was fussy cut, then adhered to the card front along with the sentiment that is a beautiful Tattered Lace die Liquid applique adds detail to the snow around the snowman base, and glitter added to the snowflakes of the sentiment add another element.  Dp is from Simple Stories.

Card Recipe
Snowman - BG0000, Y0000, R0000, Colorless Blender
Reds - R27, R29, R39
Greens - G21, G24, G28
Nose - YR04, YR07
Blues - B21, B24, B26
Hat - T6, T8, T10
Scarf - YR23, YR24, YR27

Snowman builders

Anyone who knows me knows that I adore penguin images, so when Lili of the Valley recently came out with some new images featuring my favorite little birds I just had to order them.  This sweet image is entitled "Penguin Pals" and I have colored it with non traditional colors using my Copic markers.

The image was cut out with a Spellbinder die, then mounted on paper from Simple Stories Cozy Christmas collection.  Ribbon from my stash and Stickles covered snowflakes help finish off the card, while the sentiment is also from the Simple Stories collection.

Play Ball

Summertime means the kids are busy playing all different types of sports, and one of my kids favorites was baseball.  The theme this month at One Crazy Stamper is SUMMER, and this card says it all!

I have colored up this sweet Saturated Canary image entitled "Pitcher" with bright sunny Copic colors, and matched it with designer paper from Simple Stories 24/7 collection.  The sentiment on the banner was created by hand and with Quikcut dies.

A Birthday Song

Time flies by so fast, and by now I should be settled into my new home - I doubt that all the boxes are unpacked yet, but the animals and myself should be getting use to the place and the new routine!  Today I have another card for this month's challenge theme of Flowers for One Crazy Stamper.

This little sweetheart is one of the newer images from Crafters Companion Angelica and Friends line and is entitled Grace.   I have colored her with Copics, then matted and mounted her on dp from Simple Stories Vintage Bliss line.  The small banner and the butterfly were cut from another piece of the Vintage Bliss paper, the flowers are from Prima, and the sentiment is included with the image.  I finally recycled the packaging from some of my Prima flowers - the white doily is actually cut from the hard acrylic backing that the flowers come on.

You still have a couple of days to enter the challenge over at One Crazy Stamper to win a fabulous prize package, and if you hop over to my post today at One Crazy Stamper and leave a comment on my card, you have the chance to win this stamp set!  I will announce the winner on my post here and at OCS on June 4!!!
