Happy New Year to everyone!Wishing all of you Good health, happiness and more wealth for 2008! Alright, I shall do away with those New Year resolutions..pretty much cos I havent decided on them and my life is a little of a mess now I guess.. haha.Well, 5 months into the job and have travelled a little to KL and Bangkok..Love Bangkok cos everything is so cheap over there. What to do..all the prices are rising in Singapore..from food to alcohol to products to petrol..everything that they can increase, they do it. Ok back to Bangkok, in the land of smiles, everyone is so warm..most of them are I would say, but not including those cab drivers who refuse to turn on the meter. Just gotta be careful of those who bring you to tourist places where they get commission from them, cos those restaurants charge sky high prices! So much for Bangkok..I am actually blogging this in KL, Marriott Hotel. It's great cos they have wireless all round and even the rooms have complimentary lan internet to use! Of cos I wouldnt leave my lappie lying at home..haha. Hope to travel more to Bangkok, Hong Kong and others if I have the chance.. =DRight, shall end with a short entry for now.. gona post some pictures over the past few gatherings we had! Till then.. take care and I'll be back again! Soon enough I hope..=)

the start of something new?
I actually felt pretty excited about blogging this entry. Partly because I haven’t been doing so for quite a while and it’s time to start updating what has been happening in my life. Also, I am going to set new directions for myself.
Well, I think Singaporeans are an unsatisfied lot. They are always complaining about everything, even down to the minute nonsensical things that you can ever think of. And at the end of the day, they are still unhappy. I am not saying that I do not complain at all. Just like any other Singaporean, I do as a matter of fact. But somehow or rather, I began to change my perspective on things.
Right now, I can say I am pretty contented with what I am doing. Just started about 2 wks plus into my new job at Raffles Place at a conference company, and so far I’ve been doing research on my business topics as well as sourcing for speakers. I must say it is a very different environment compared to Mt Faber. The happening people are atop the hill and gathered here is the fast-paced and busiest lot. In my company, everyone works very individually. But when they gather together for chit-chats, they are pretty fun and sociable in their own way too. As for my work, it is kind of dry indeed but I am starting to get the hang of it. It’s unlike me to be able to sit in front of the computer for 8-9 hours just doing research and searching for speakers. Honestly, there were a couple of times where I fell asleep at my desk and I am very sure my boss saw me. But to stay awake, I had to walk around, to the ladies and get myself a cup of coffee. Right, so much for work. So what else is happening in my life?
I was chatting with this colleague of mine and realized she is doing her part-time Masters and working at the same time. I know there are many people out there doing the same as well. I really admire her for her courage and perseverance. To me, I will definitely choose to study full time if I were to take Masters. Of course, it is not impossible to study and work simultaneously, but it is lots of hard work and effort indeed. It just suddenly dawned on me that I shouldn’t be wasting my time just slacking around at home and watching tv. I should really start putting my time into good use. When I am like in my 60s or 70s, I want to look back on yesteryears and be glad that I have led a fulfilling life.
Well, I am happy that I’m in this line right now, that I am able to meet speakers and people from all over the world, and be able to learn something valuable from them. There’s just so much to learn out there and it shouldn’t just stop at our workplace. And that is why I have decided to start visiting the library, to either spend some time there or borrow the books home. Yea, don’t be shocked. PJ is going to the library. Haha. I just feel that I am inadequately equipped with knowledge and I want to gain more of it. Be it to enrich myself, to help people or be able to carry conversations with people, I want to learn more things that are happening around the world. Gotta spend my time more wisely now. Apart from reading up, to put in place would be my regular exercises at Amore with my dear gals. That is something we have been procrastinating and postponing our classes due to work. Now that my twin has jumped on board, we will make it a point to go every week. Suddenly, I feel motivated. Haha. On my cards right now – Regular exercising, reading, eat healthily, church work, career and of course quality time with family and friends. Maybe I should find a regular weekly sport too.
Alrighty! so much for a long update.. looking forward to a healthy lifestyle! =D

the breadwinner & the chief financial officer of #13-07..It was the birthdays of the Dad & the Mum..(age not revealed). Mum's bdae was on the day that we were returning from Japan and what a day to spend it shuttling from one airport to another cos of transit. But Dad & bro were so sweet..they called her the night before at 12am (11pm in SG) and sang her the birthday song in English & Canto. I was just falling asleep that I thought it was the morning alarm when the phone rang. It was heartwarming for Mum though. =)Had a sumptuous dinner at a Cantonese restaurant at a hotel..cant rem the name..5 of us had a good 7 course dinner! Food was great but unfortunately too much for us..haha..Birthday for Daddy was kinda different this year. Didnt want a usual birthday dinner and that's it. So we planned a movie in the afternoon - The Bourne Ultimatum..followed by dinner at Night Safari. Yea you may think..huh why Night Safari of all places right? But it was to have a different experience altogether..and well the attraction was also one of the Top 10 Tourist attraction in Spore..so juz give it a try. But alas, the prices were exorbitant for food that we can simply find elsewhere! they were charging sky high as it is a tourist attraction. it's really crazy for we can jolly well have better food somewhere else at a reasonable price. Ended up at Yishun Safra finally for a not-so-fantastic Western Dinner. The manager & staff were friendly though so I guess that evens it out. haha. Next up was Bowling..had loads of fun and endless laughter..=)Well so much for their birthdays.. the breadwinner is always so generous and willing to spend on us, let alone Mum's bdae, but yet more frugal when it comes to himself. The Chief financial officer herself is also thrifty and think the best for us. I think the luckiest lot is - we children of course. Thank God for such wonderful parents, really. =D Love ya Dad & Mum!

Ogenki des ka.. Well well.. back from Japan and I really miss the weather and food there! =D Thanks Mich & Sam for the Japanese language book..it somewhat helped me when I had to greet people and asked for prices..but then again I couldnt catch what they meant when they reply me! haha..so yea, back to the basics of pointing here and there with some hand actions..Anyhow, apart from the language barrier, the people there are very friendly and their streets are so clean! Many interesting things and pretty sights to see.. which explains my 600 plus shots of madness photo taking..yes seriously hell a lot of photos.. thus I selected only some to post..had loads of fun though especially parading in our yakuta..=DDown to food.. really omg! what can I say..they have the most fresh seafood in Hokkaido and we had crab and scallops at almost every meal! and oh! my sis and I had huge appetites for ice cream..counting to the last day at the airport, we had a total of 10 ice creams! Really fattening mann.. which is what I need too. Visited the hot springs too which were very much relaxing.. havent been so relaxed in a long while..just the remedy I need. =) Didnt do much shopping though as things were pretty expensive in Japan..managed to buy some tidbits only..All in all, I will definitely recommend u guys to visit Hokkaido. think it would be very pretty in Winter with snowy white all over.. =)
