A mixed T bag!!!

Hi everyone, I'm hoping I'm still welcome at Bluebeard and Elizabeth's blog where T stands For Tuesday is taking place today. You're a lovely bunch so I'm guessing there won't be a problem!

I have been having blog problems but hopefully that won't stop me today....so.. today is a bit of a mixed bag!

First, a journal page I made for Vicki's Music theme at Art Journal Journey a couple of weeks ago.

The background started as a mop up and I added some washi tape and stamped an Aall and Create stamp designed by Bipasha, which I coloured in with some metallic water colours.

Next, some of you may have noticed that I have no Calendar Journal to show you. Last year when I broke a bone in my foot I started a daily journal and wrote it alongside my calendar journal. Since I can get more on a page than I can in a little square I have gone over to just using my journal.
Here are some pages for you to see how I decorate my pages, mostly with scraps, Stickers, Ruben and washi tape.

Hubby and I do get out occasionally, the weather has been a bit cold and wet for walking too far, hoping that will change soon.
Of course most of our outings include having a drink somewhere, especially if we are food shopping!

As you can see most times I get my little journal tin out while we wait for our order to arrive
These are my 'ticket' join in at TSFT today!

Hubby and I have also started this year's Wanderlust lessons and really enjoying making art together.

Last week's lesson. You can probably tell that mine is the top image!

We did manage a walk the other week at Dunham Massey - a lovely sunny afternoon to see the Snowdrops

Looking forward to seeing this (my favourite view in the garden) transform over the Spring

I confess to spending a lot of time on Instagram but I hope I can get back to regular visits here, if you'll have me?

I had better go now, hubby waiting for me so we can carry on with this weeks Wanderlust lesson.

Thanks for looking, Chris

Boss It!

Hi everyone, we have a new theme at Try It On Tuesday - 'Boss It' and we'd like to see your embossed makes, whether it be Dry Embossing using folders or Heat Embossing with powder and a heat tool.

The Design Team have some great examples to encourage and inspire you!

I used several embossing folders and some papers that were in my scrap box, the embossing transforms them to something quite different.

The first layer was the reverse side of the tiny flower folder that I used to emboss the mount for the cute Choux & Flowers bear that I found in an art shop in France last year. I used two different folders for the in between layers.

I was on a bit of a roll so I now have several embossed pieces of paper to use in my journals.

As usual you can find the Rules and Guidelines here. This TIOT  challenge runs for two weeks and we do hope you will join us this time.

Thanks for looking, Chris

Romance!

Hi everyone, February has arrived and we are thinking of 'Romance' at Try It On Tuesday. Of course you don't have to send Valentine cards to be romantic, there are lots of romantic films to be watched that may encourage you to send a little message to someone!

The Design Team have some greta inspiration for you

I used some spritzed distress oxide inks to stamp the Funky Fossil hearts. I tore a tissue heart which I painted with Gel medium mixed with pink ink and then added some beautiful rose stickers, I added a touch of blue ink around the edges.

I hope you can join us at TIOT this time - the theme runs from two weeks.

Thanks for looking, Chris

What a Night at TIOT

Hi everyone, the title of our new theme at Try It On Tuesday might imply that we're party people, well some of us may still be! My idea of 'What A Night' is more likely to be early to bed with a good book!

You can see the Design Team's take on the title here! The Rules and Guidelines are here if you need to look.

I have a card with a mother owl and her offspring.

I made a background with dark shades of watercolour paint. Once dry I stamped the Crafty Individual owls and used watercolour pencils to give them a darker colour. I used a gold gel pen for the beaks and eyes. I extended the branch with a Pitt pen and then added some Lavinia Stamps branches and berries. The moon is from another Crafty Individual set and I added some Corrector pen stars (although I must say they look more like snowflakes)

This image reminds me of stepping outside the back door of my son's place in France in the late afternoon and seeing an owl staring down at us - we quickly retreated and left it in peace.

I hope you can join us this time with your take on 'What A Night', as usual we run this theme for the next two weeks.

Thanks for looking, Chrisx

Feeling Blue at TIOT

Hello to you al! We're back! The Try It On Tuesday Design Team are here to start your New Year with our theme of 'Feeling Blue'. I hope you aren't feeling too blue now that the decorations are down and of course for some it's back to work!

I think our blues made brighten your day so please take a look here!

I had some fun making this - water colour paint onto an acrylic block, spritzed and then pressed all over the centre of my page. I added some stenciling and then stamped the beautiful fantasy flower from Crafty Individuals (a Sharron Bates design). Next I added some random text around the edges of the flower and a little quote at the bottom.

As usual our theme is open for two weeks and if you need a reminder of the Rules and Guidelines - they're here.

I do hope you will join us this time at TIOT!

Wishing you all a very Happy New Year!

Thanks for looking, Chris

I'm joining in at 'Art Journal Journey too, with Mia's 'Dots' theme

T Stands For The Catch Up

Hi everyone! It seems such a long time since I joined in at T Stands For Tuesday hosted by Bleubeard and Elizabeth at The Altered Book Lover blog. We've been away, both had bouts of ill health and just seem to have had very little time at home!

I realised I hadn't even posted my Calendar Journal from the beginning of the month. Well, were away in Paris for the first four days so only made the pages the following weekend. I had recorded everything in my travel journal so was easily able to fill in my entries.

I am entering at Art Journal Journey with this page where Sharon is hosting with her 'Snow' theme

I used some freebie images from Chapteries Art

Here is my November page all filled in.

I think I should show my drink before I start to tell you about Paris.
We went to Samaritaine, a favourite place to have a treat! I chose Lemon Cake which came with a mini fruit salad while hubby had a decadent chocolate cake, (he also helped me out with mine too!) I had an Americano with cold milk on the side while hubby had a Flat White with a foamy Christmas tree to decorate it!
We sat and looked at the lights.

While in Paris we visited some new (to us) areas as well as going to see the Christmas windows and decorations

This was outside Rougier & Plé - an art store on four levels
Found this fabulous shop with so many lovely stationery items
Some one was standing by to make sure no touched this huge book pile
The Champs Élysées with Arc de Triomphe at the end

La Grand Épicerie - a very expensive store but with amazing displays .

I hope this has put you in a festive mood. Is it just me or does this year seem to have gone by very quickly?

Thanks for looking, Chris
