Holiday romance.........

Hiya everyone,
I have a La Pashe DT sample to share with you today with is made from one of the double decoupage sheets which are 69p each  They each have 2 images per sheet making them excellent value for money.  This one is called holiday romance and it's ever so pretty - you can buy it for yourself here.

I used very plainish papers and just added some raffia ribbon, WOC flowers, pearls and a cute mirror charm.  This is a 6x6 card so the images are nice and big so work well with a clean and simple look so that the focus is on the fab image.

I am getting so excited for the launch of the new challenge which starts next monday - I can't wait!

Thanks for looking!

It's Easter at the House Mouse and Friends

Hiya everyone,
Another few weeks have flown by so it's time for another challenge at the House Mouse and Friends Monday challenge.  The theme is Easter so I decided to use this gorgeous Happy Happy from Joanna Sheen.  I have coloured the image in with my promarkers - mostly the limited edition spring colours as they work really with these lovely First Edition spring drop papers.

I have been soooooo busy that I still haven't had chance to play with my photo tent so the piccies are no different but I'll let you know when I use it so you can see if there's a difference!

Are you "A little bit crafty?"

Hiya everyone,

I have some very exciting news to share with you all - I am starting my very own challenge that I will be running from my very own blog!!!  The challenge will be a monthly challenge and we have some fab prizes up for grabs!!!

I have a super duper design team on board to share some fab inspiration for you all so I really hope that you'll come and join us for our very first challenge which will start on Monday 1st April.

For people who follow my blog I have decided to do this instead of running my monthly candy as I think it will get you all more involved and there will so many fab crafty makes for you to look at!

I will still be running the Joanna Sheen Challenge blog as normal  so don't worry I'm not leaving!  The "A little bit crafty" challenge will enable me and the rest of the DT to make whatever we like with whatever we like.

I am happy to accept entries of cards, tags, scrapbook pages, fat pages, ATC's, inchies, twinchies, altered art, jewellery - anything crafty really as long as it fits the theme!

The DT that I have chosen are very varied in their tastes and styles so expect to get everything from your usual cutesy cards to more craft stamper inky style stuff.

I am sooooooo excited about this new crafty venture as there are lots of things I'd love to try out but I don't often get chance to just have a play so I am going to take this opportunity to experiment whether the results be good or bad! Lol

Feel free to snatch the "A little bit crafty" blinkie for you sidebar and I hope to see you again at the beginning of April with our "Anything goes" challenge!

A big thanks to Angie who has jazzed up my blog and made us lots of awesome blinkies - if you want a custom blog then you can find her contact info in the sidebar to the left!

Thanks for looking!

Anniversary card

Hiya everyone,
I am hoping that you are liking my new jazzed up blog - I decided that I wanted a change and got myself a custom blog by Angie and I love it!
I have to share with you the in-laws 40th Wedding Anniversary card I made for them a few weeks back as we held a surprise party for them and they had no idea.  It was a really great night!

The image was a Wee stamps freebie called "love birds" and I thought it would be perfect for this card.  I pooped the image into photoscape and added the wording before printing it out several times.  I cut out several images to layer up before colouring the image with my promarkers and flexmarkers.

Apart from the nice ribbon which actually was a leftover piece from my own wedding stationary I didn't really use much else.
I have some exciting news to share with you which I will do later today!
I hope you like my card - it's very simple but effective and could be used for lots of occasions!

Introducing - The Wrinklies

Hiya everyone,

Today I have to share with you a sample I made for La Pashe using their new Wrinklies range.  This image is called "Senior cyclists" which is one of the new decoupage plus sets which you can get here.

The backing paper and sentiment are included on the same sheet for 59p which are excellent value for money.  For a change I made a 8x8 card and I used core'dinations card as I fancied using the Tim Holtz gears small embossing folder that I've had for ages and never used.

These are really fun images and are great for people of a "certain age" Lol including some fab male images which are always a nightmare to make for!

Ribbons and pearls

Hiya everyone,

I hope you all had a nice Mother's day.  I told hubby not to get me anything yet as I wanted to get something useful so I decided on a little photo tent with lights so that I can take better piccies of my cards so you'll have to let me know if there's an improvement when I go and pick it up in a few days time!  I did get a lovely card and flowers from the in-laws though which was very nice!

Anyhoo,  It's time again for a brand new challenge over at the House Mouse and Friends challenge blog.  The theme this time is

As usual we have some fab sponsors offering up some great prizes

$25 voucher

 $25 voucher

$10 voucher

$10 voucher

I killed 2 birds with one stone (again, Lol) and make my MIL this Mother's day card.  I decided on this cute bunny in the bath stamp and thought I'd try ivory-on-ivory rather than the usual white-on-white and I must say I kinda liked it for a change.

The image has been coloured in with my promarkers and flexmarkers - isn't he a cutie?  I added a little glamourdust to the bubbles for a little sparkle.  I used one of my many embossing folders to add some texture although I had to do it in 2 panels as I haven't got any of the new 6x6 ones but you can't see the join so it doesn't matter as it's covered up by the vertical panel.  I added satin ribbon and some ruffled organza and velvet ribbon and my MS doily lace punch which is still a firm favourite of mine.  I made a little tag out of my printed sentiment and to finish added some flowers from WOC and some pearls.

I hope you like my card.  Me and Tayla are feeling much better but whatever flu/cold thing we had my hubby has now got so now he feels dreadful.  After us all having a tummy bug the week before we not doing very well are we?

Something exciting is coming soon! Watch this space!!!

Hugs

Mum's the word!

Hiya everyone,

Today we have a brand new challenge over at the Joanna Sheen Challenge blog.  The theme this time for Team A is

- so we want to see all your creations made for all those special ladies in your lives although it doesn't have to be a Mother's day card.  Here I have used the JS Happy Hoppers stamp set called "Hoppy Birthday"   The papers I used are from a Wild Rose Studio set and the sentiment is an old wooden one I've had for ages.  The image I have coloured in with my promarkers.
The whole family and I have been ill on and for the last 2 weeks so I'm glad to be feeling a bit better now that it's my turn to host the challenge as we really have felt awful!

I will shortly have a few Mother's day cards to share with you including one tomorrow that is my DT card for the House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge card which has a brand new challenge starting tomorrow.
I hope you all get some nice goodies for Mother's day and have a very special day.

Thanks for looking!

Something a little different!

Hiya everyone,

I was very fortunate to have won this fab Tigerlily Kaisercraft paperstack and stamp set from Bramwell Crafts after entering a facebook competition so I thought I would try something a little different.  I also thought that I could make my mum a Mother's day card and kill 2 birds with one stone.  I love the colours of this paperstack as it's pretty but not sickly sweet and I adore anything to do with butterlies!
I used only a few small panels and left quite a bit of the white base showing which I am so used to covering up.  The swirl stamp is stamped directly onto a piece of the plainer papers and the butterflies are stamped onto ivory vellum, coloured with promarkers and then cut out.
I then added a little glamour dust to the bodies.  The sentiment is from some craftwork card sentiments that I had as I was in a rush tonight trying to make one after me and my family have been poorly for most of the week.

I am going to be experimenting with lots of new styles and techniques as I really fancy a change and trying something new so WATCH THIS SPACE!
