House Mouse & Friends

Hiya everyone,

It's that time again for a brand new challenge over at the House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge.  The theme this time is Things with Wings.  After a really chaotic last few weeks I was going to make mine last night after taking Tayla to her nannas but all the family came down with a sickness bug so we never went.  We all felt really awful.  Luckily, I found this Christmas sample that I had never blogged so this will have to do.

I coloured the image in with my promarkers which is a Joanna Sheen image from the "Sleigh Mice" set which you can get here.  The papers are from an old Christmas DCWV paperstack that I've had ages.

We have some fab sponsors and some fab prizes up for grabs!!!

$25 Gift Certificate from House Mouse Designs

£10 Joanna Sheen Gift Voucher
I am still not feeling well but I'm feeling a lot better than yesterday! :(

New Wild Rose studio range

Hiya everyone,

I have been so busy the last few weeks making samples with all the new Wild Rose Studio goodies that we launched at the Stitches craft show last sunday.  We got stuff early so we could rush making some samples for on display.  They really are one of my favourite ranges of stamps.  I know you think I'm probably only saying that as I am on the DT but I have so little spare time that I actually have to turn DT work down so I only work with what I really like.  You can see the full range here.  I am very partial to House Mouse and Penny Blacks too but most people who know me will already know that! ;oD

For this sample I didn't use WRS papers as I really wanted to use these digi bee papers that I had.  It was a very rushed card as I made it the night before I had to send them off to make sure Dulcie and Matt got them in time for the trade show.

I coloured this "Bees with cupcake" image in really quickly with my promarkers and the papers are available here for 99p here.  The sentiment is also from the papers download.

I just had to make one with this image as I loved these cute little bees.  I have also been busy with some magazine work and have 2 new pieces yet to start - it's all go at the moment!

I have loads of Wild Rose Studio samples that I will continue to share as and when I get a spare few minutes which isn't often! Lol

House Mouse & Friends Challenge

Hiya everyone,

Today I'm sharing with you my House Mouse and Friends "I love you sew much" creation.  I made this ages ago for one of my Joanna Sheen samples but have not blogged about it till now.  Joanna Sheen actually loved this so much she said she was going to keep it for herself.

I decided to use this as it fitted the theme exactly but I was so swamped last week when the challenge started that I didn't get chance to post it.  I decided to keep it for the midway reminder post instead.

As you can see it is a small sewing box.  In reality it is a Ted Baker sock box that I have covered and altered.  The image is from the "sew happy" Joanna Sheen stamp set that is available here.I have coloured the image with my promarkers and the papers are from the Cosmo Cricket set "Material girl".

The sewing kit inside is just a cheapie one from the pound shop but it was just for effect really.  I like to try and create something a bit more special every now and again when I have a little bit of extra time but those times are now very few and far between with 2 wee ones!

Here are my 2 little monster playing in their playroom yesterday!

I am so blessed to have 2 beautiful children - they really are my world. I am looking forward to the nicer weather so we'll be able to go out and about again.

I'd like to enter this into the following challenges:-

Penny Black valentine's card

Hiya everyone,

As I am all alone in the house as the hubby's gone to the in-laws to watch the match, I thought I'd share the Valentine's card I made for him from one of my many gorgeous Penny Black stamps.  I coloured my image in with a mixture of promarkers and flexmarkers.

The papers are from a Bo Bunny "Crazy love" paperstack.  I really don't get chance to use my Penny Blacks that often which is a shame as I love them so much and I just bought lots (and lots) of them!

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:-

Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Love and Marriage
Emerald Fairies - Love
Crafty sentiments - Valentines
Creative craft challenges - Love and hugs
Ladybug ink crafts - Pink and another colour
Papertake weekly - Hearts and flowers
Passion for promakers - Use 2 characters

Ribbon carousel - Love is in the air

GDT Forever Friends

Hiya everyone,

I was thrilled to be asked by Diane over at the Forever Friends Challenge blog (along with the rest of the Joanna Sheen DT) if I wanted to be GDT for February.  As Joanna Sheen was sponsoring that particular challenge I tried to find the time to make one using a Joanna Sheen image.  I didn't have loads of spare time so my card is quite clean and simple which I think suits the image I chose to use.

I love these little House Mouses smelling the lavender.  I coloured them in with my promarkers and the papers are from my DCWV Boys Nana's nursery paperstack which I love.  The sentiment is just a craftwork cards sentiment - ideal for being quick and easy.

The theme over at the Forever Friends Challenge blog is any creation with animals or birds or butterflies on it.  Check it out here.  A few of my Joanna Sheen Teamies has also taken part.

OMG!!!! Fab news!!!

Hiya everyone,

I have some amazing news!!!  As most of you will know, I run the Joanna Sheen Challenge Blog.  Well, yesterday I had an e-mail from Joanna telling me that we had won the Best Craft Blog Award ran by Crafts Beautiful and Let's make Cards magazines.  I was sooooo shocked but soooo thrilledI knew we were nominated but never expected to win as we were up against some really tough competition.

You can see more info here on the win.

It's really made my week after the awful week I've had so far.  On that front my nan is out and hospital and is improving by the day and the vet is hopeful that with treatment, Toba should be ok.
