So this was how my letter of acceptance from NTU started. At first I was like, ok yay I can finally go somewhere after army! Then doom came over me..
(no pun to those ntu readers out there) but my dream school is NUS.
since secondary school my only aim was: GO NATIONAL JC AND NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF SINGAPORE!! yes im a very national person. national skin centre for my pimples, national dental centre for my teeth, national jc for my education.

basically for NUS i just wanted to go chemical engineering, a single degree.. so its NUS vs NTU and Chem engineering vs Maritime Studies and Business Major

Reasons why i should go for NTU 1. It is a double major! Better than a single degree. (However i was told i can take up a 2nd major in NUS too.. =/ )
2. I can go Norway University to study business in my third year for 1semester! It would be a great experience! Know some norwegian friends or even get a norwegian girlfriend!
3. Theres no more integration.
4. I want to study business! and NTU school of business is good.
5. The industry needs people. So i can actually work and gain experience during my study in the maritime field and get paid! And a job is more or less guaranteed once you graduate. High demand = good pay? i hope.
6. My career is settled. Unless i hate the shipping port that much, i still have a business major so i can work in some bank.

So i bought this lousy $12 shoe from a lousy shoe shop.. everything was lousy so $12 was a lousy price. i took out the shoelaces first.
Den i did a sketch of some food product which has a blue background..
Then i started painting with acrylic paint..
Commonwealth art teacher Ms Ruth Ng taught me how to use acrylic paint!
Acrylic paint is water proof cos it can prove water.
I bought new blue laces..
and TADA! pardon my hairy legs.

These days, nothing much can make me genuinely happy. Well, genuine is a very abstract word. You can be happy but you may not be genuinely happy, but because you ought to feel happy thats why you feel happy. Get it?
Like if i get silver for ippt, i would be happy. But i highly doubt i would be genuinely happy. Or even if i get straight As for Alevels, i would be happy. But i dont think its genuine happiness. The word genuine comes from the heart, where everything that matters to you most lies.
Lets talk about some genuine things that makes me genuinely happy. yes, my milo van along side with its milo cup.
just 2days ago, i drank 9cups of milo. its plain ecstacy watching the brown fluid pour into that lovely green cup. the cool refreshing taste that enters your mouth after that, you know one cup is not enough. the milovan made me very happy =)

Another thing that makes me genuinely happy comes from my childhood memories. I used to buy icecream from the mobile icecream grandpa. Note: i only love CHOCOLATE flavoured BREAD icecream. this bread with icecream under a hot day beats any Gelato flat.. Just $1 can bring me so much satisfaction.
I think, the only time when humans were genuine were the time when they are still a child. When people dont have to hide how they behave or try to be who they are not. Primary school mates mean alot to me because of genuine relationships. Of course, as we enter secondary school and jc and army, the line becomes a grey area. We start questioning ourselves, who are our genuine friends.
And one would realise, the most genuine people around you are your family, no matter how they treat you.
And for my case of milovan and bread icecream, they will always stay in my genuine childhood memories.

Ahh.. this is one of my final nights before i leave for army camp again.. so i have decided to write a story.. Its not about Jaychou eating Macdonalds.. but yea, just a short story.

Long long time ago, in the lost land of MunmunPlanet, there exist a high high mountian called the Mountain of Barney. Mountain of Barney was well known for its Kungfu, because long time ago when Barney still existed, it taught the people Barney Kungfu, also known as, Barfu. The people there practised Barfu for ages by eating anything purple they can find.
There was nothing exceptional about the people there, except one Owl. His name was Infant. At a young age, Infant was able to defeat many humans his age in the Barfu tournament. One day, Tweety Bird flew towards Infant and dropped in a written message written by a mysterious person. With that, Tweety Bird spiralled onto the floor and died of bird poisoning. Infant, being an Owl, enjoys eating Tweety Birds, and so he picked it up and munched greedily.
Picking up the written message, he saw a neat handwriting which said: 'Meet me at Pallet Town tonight.'
Puzzled, he decided to go. Debating that since the handwriting was so neat, it couldnt be a bad person. That night, he flew high and low, finally reaching Pallet Town. Then WHOOOM! A pair of vines came flying at him. It was a Bulbasaur! Infant then began singing in a low alto voice.. The Bulbasaur fell asleep! and Infant began to eat him up hungrily.
'HEY' a loud voice rang across the town. It was Groo, the local nun at Pallet Town Monastery. 'HOW DARE YOU EAT MY BULBASAUR!' With that, she threw herself forward and slammed Infant on the floor. It is widely known that Groo is a Judo Master well known for her deadly chokes and body slams. With ease, Groo entered a randori with Infant. Groo armlocked Infant within a matter of seconds with her deadly violent smash. Infant used his wings and tapped 2times on the floor before Groo releases her grip.
Allowing Infant to stand up, Groo explained her letter. 'Yes, i sent you. I need your help to bake pineapple tarts for Deepavali' Infant, still shocked, thought for a moment. 'How about nian gao instead. Im better at those.'
With that, the 2 of them happily proceeded to the monastery to make nian gao. Little did they realise.. a strange creature was watching them. It was actually Jesse McCARTNEY.. He thought they were wonderful in Barfu and Judo.. and so, he went and stop Infant and Groo on their tracks.
He said: 'Hey i have a proposal. I can make your nian gao more delicious.' Surprised, the trio set off for the monastery together. The next morning, Infant rolled the dough with Barfu, Groo knead the dough with Judo. Meanwhile, Jesse McCARTNEY kept singing to make sure the dough was happy, and thus the nian gao would be more chewy after the dough dies in the oven.

hmm. i dunno whether it should be an occasion to be happy or to be sad. Sad, because some of my friends have entered into potentially very relaxing vocations.. And some others have entered into OCS, and then i start to ask myself why cant i? (yes contradictory cos i want a relaxing life in army. but im competitive by nature.) i dunno.. we'll see how life goes on from here yea. 8weeks of BSLC..

on a happier note, i watched my 3rd movie today! The Legends of Chun Li. i wanted to support our local actor ChenZhiCai or sth. budden the story was kinda confusing.. cos there was cantonese,english,chinese,thai language... without any subtitles on the screens :( but overall... if u dont hav any intention to support our local actor, go for Push or TheRaceToWitchMountain if you have these choices. Push is by far the nicest.

A long day indeed!
went out with army friends today.. my BMT mates.. played abit of LAN then went to Marc's house to play Nintendo Wii.. we spent like 5hours playing Guitar Hero =.= i was strumming the guitar.. playing the drum.. and singing =.= forming one mini band of our own really..
then we had loads of good food, compliments of his part-time maid, who cooked 'banana and mango crumble','brownie' and laksagna.. waahseh.. she, from srilankan can be mistaken for an italian! she really cooks well!
then we had a alcohol session.. after much persuasion, i tried this Bailey.. 17% alcohol.. supposedly will taste good when mixed with chocolate milk.. for light drinkers.
so i added loads of chocolate milk.. until the conc of alcohol was probably 2%.. LOL. so i basically drank choc milk la.. hahas. dunno why so many ppl like alcohol so much.. drinking doesnt make me cooler.. (im already very cool) yah. so for now, still not keen on alcohol and SAY NO TO ALCOHOL! hahas. maybe a sip will do.
So we ended quite late like 10+.. i decided to take a cab home la.. like.. i dun wan to reach home at 12am.. i had this taxi driver.. walao.. damn vulgar.. the whole journey spamming vulgarities at other drivers for driving recklessly. he even opened the window and pointed middle finger at another fellow taxi driver.. AND HE ALMOST CRASHED INTO THE CAR IN FRONT! omg. and he himself is driving so freaking fast la.. expressway zoom here and there, overtake here and there.. vulgarities here and there.. waseh..

woo! today is a wonderful day indeed!
woke up early in the morning and visited choir.. first, i went for a 2.4km run.. then played basketball with my new juniors and conan! hahas, quite interesting juniors ar.. one keep calling me botak. somehow reminds me of the good old choir basketball days we used to hav. bifang laywang xianyong... hahs..
then me conan and ja jus listened to choir.. not bad la i think =) really improved alot alot..
after that about a third of us had lunch at bukit timah food centre.. then me conan and amanda set off to Cineleisure for a movie date with gabriel! while we waited, we bought doughnuts and snacked at the hongkong cafe..
how i miss this kind of life.. free and easy.. =( i really dread going back to army.. i dont like the regimental life =( sigh.
how leh.. jus suck thumb and do it ba i guess.. everyone can jus sit down and grouch, but in the end i still gotta do it.. might as well..

Argh. Parents really do not know the market.. My parents have been urging me to take up scholarships.. 'Just apply lah.. no harm even if they do not accept you' They think AAAD C is some imba grade that companies desire. So they have been urging me to apply for scholarships.. Telling me why a scholarship is good, telling me all the benefits of a scholarships.. Like hello, i also want a scholarship if i my grades can make it, who doesnt.
And so, i tried applying for one.. and guess what? Write in about 2000characters to tell us why we should give you this scholarship based on your academic interest and intellectual potential. and i laughed.. intellectual potential oh cmon... who do u think i am? i can give you 2gold with honours,2 overseas gold,1overseas silver for choir, 200+ hours for CIP.. but i have NOTHING intellectual..
and so my parents still want me to apply for scholarships.. say that trying doesnt hurt..
it already hurts knowing im not eligible for anything lo.. when you have nothing for show.. intellectually.. zz
Uni applications! headache man.. so many courses and i dunno which to choose and in which order! applying to 2 unis somemore.. i srsly want to quit school.. anws, to those who are concerned with wad im applying..

Busy busy busy!
2days ago i went ITfair for the 2nd time with nicholas.. collected another stack of brochures meanwhile eyeing my iPod Touch and HDD.
Then yesterday i went to NTU and NUS openhouse.. too bad xng never see me haha! nvm 2more years! ok la.. so after knowing more about the courses.. im more or less decided about what i want.. today im going to apply liao.. dont care le.
after the open houses yesterday, me,my parents went to ITfair again =.= this time, i bought a itouch 16gb along which i bought a speaker at discounted price. then i bought a portable harddisk too 320GB.. my parents bought a Toshiba laptop and got a 4in1 Canon printer free..

Phew.. after 9weeks of army life, i finally passed BMT.. POP lo! these nine weeks are not fun at all.. learnt lots of new stuff, in terms of army knowledge and gained many experiences. learnt how to persevere and thus achieve. The idea is: When you think you are going to die, you arent.
So this week passed by quickly.. with only 3days left, we had to rehearse for our Passing out Parade and settle alot of adminstrative matters. Wednesday we had our 24km route march before our POP.. so we had to sleep on tuesday 6.30pm.. wake at 1.30am to prepare for the march.. amazingly i could sleep thru the evening...
So the 24km was... ohwells.. just had to endure the large field pack behind you.. at least 13kg.. and my rifle.. 4kg.. all march for 24km la =(
Finally it was over.. then the parade was on!

this week has been rather stressful.. but i think everything turned out well in the end..
my ippt.. i couldnt jump to a pass before.. yet on monday, i finally passed my standingbroadjump.. i did a record set of 7chinups, shuttle run of 9.5seconds, 2.4km a personal record of 10.50min.. i was so delighted.. alas i did pass my ippt.
performance for recruits evening and NE presentation.. lol im jus involved in all the shitty performance in army la.. skits and singing and stuff... all the practise till late at night drove me crazy.. but alas i pulled thru too..
16km road march.. this happened on 6th march on Alvl results day.. so on 5th march, i wasnt worrying about results.. i was worrying whether my legs can handle the 16km.. so on 5th march, we slept at 7pm, woke at 2am on 6th march.. then we marched. after that, i was too tired to worry about my results.. until i entered the hall to collect the results..
yes i did worry about my results.. for the past few weeks.. thinking how i answered and screwed several questions in chemistry and physics worried me.. it gave me nightmares.. all i wanted was at least one A from math..
in the end.. C for GP.. ok la. my standard liddat de.. D for econs.. wth. why ppl anyhow write also can get A? i got D! sad. then the rest A.. which gave me a pleasant surprise.. after all those horrible nightmares.
i would probably go for chem engineering or some other engineering course if they reject me.. want to go nus.. yup.
congrats to those ard me who did well.. esp sixuan,lingchung and jingan and my class peeps who generally did well too.
