went on a short holiday trip to the nearby island, tioman. it was the monsoon season, but yet there were quite a no of people going over. it was our 1st time stepping in there. arrive early in the morning at shaw center to have our mcdonald breakfast and headed to dfs entrance to wait for our bus. can't remember how long was the total trip cos we slept throughout.. incl bus ride, i think is about 5 hrs to the resort iteself. i stayed in berjaya. the room is clean, small, cosy. we do have couple of people knocking on our door. is very irritating, group of army guys came knocking twice. we rot and sleep for a lil while before checking out the area. had our lunch at the resort, hmmm.. the food was alright. my gf had her redang beef, and i had fish n chips, but not forgetting the soup.. it was potato, with calm chowder n chicken? but is creamy n delicious. the pool is smaller than bintan lagoon, but has 2 slides.. too bad, only 15 yrs n below are permitted. hmph.. but it was nice seeing those kids, caucasian kids running and going down the slide. 1st day nothing much. we walked out, which was about 15mins from our room to the guardhouse, and they have food stalls there. well.. its so much cheaper than what we had ate in the afternoon. had a taste of their local food, n not forgetting my tom yam. we just ordered 3 dishes and we are so full. so head back to the resort gaming room, and then off to our room to zzzz...
the 2nd day, seriously.. we woke up late. suppose to wake up at 7am? but we slept till 9.05? which means we are late for our snorkeling. but well.. we thought gotta change our plans, boring.. fortunately, the guy call us up and ask if we are joining, and say will wait for us like 5 mins.. then we ok ok.. hurry up, forget our breakfast, bought some snacks n drinks from the resort, and eat our way through the boat ride. we visited 3 places. the 1st island was coral island, spend 1 hr there snorkeling. then to the marine park, where the fishes are all so big, like those i saw at the market. lol.. i was quite scare, cos they tend to bite me after feeding them. they thought i still have food. then on the way to renggis island, we saw dolphins? i saw 3? haha.. and is under my boat swimming. very very nice. so when there are dolphins, means there are sharks too.. hmmm..scary. after all the snorkeling, we had pizza by the pool side, and swam for a lil while before freshening up and took a cab to the local village for some shopping. nothing much to buy, just some tibits.. our dinner was cereal prawns, thai style chicken, and hot plate beancurd.. yummy yummy. it was more ex than what we had the day before, but it was worth it.
the 3rd day was breakfast day, since we missed our breakfast the day before, we had a lot. well, the range was good, the chicken sausage wasn't very nice. i had their uttapan? i think it taste a bit like indian pancake? thosai? and roti prata, chicken congee, the fruits, hashbrown (soso), baked beans, pancakes etc. and we fed the cat with chicken sausage, he had 3 or 4. hmm... and wanted more. so we headed straight for the sun, since we only have 2 hours to spare before leaving the island. so i managed to get tanned, since the day before we went snorkeling. on the way back, i saw my friend on the same ferry as me. coincidence.
nice trip, planning... redang? maybe. |
