So we went to Canto Wok by Chef Kang for mother's day dinner. We ordered a set for 10, although we only had 8 people. The set contains most of their recommendation. For people like me who doesn't eat brinjal, actually ate brinjal. is deep fried, coated with pork floss, but doesn't have the normal brinjal taste. The 1st dish was a shark catridge soup, taste like chicken broth to me actually. But is nice, not as bad as i expected. Then there are prawns mayo wrapped around bacon, double tasted pork, which was advertised on the makan sutra, seriously it wasn't that fantastic as they recommend. but the food there is not cheap, and is limited. We had their steamed crab with the sticky rice, i think the crab was normal. The freshwater fish was ok. something good is their chilli, that was spicy and sour. The tofu was smooth, cooked in black bean sauce, you can taste a bit burnt, but is still nice. and end the day with bee hoon, which all of us are too full to finish, and the papaya fungus desert.
anyway, the service wasn't that good, and place looks bit run down, but then it was full house. yet again, they don't charge you for service. |
