Easter

We had a lovely Easter and it was one of the few dry days of April here in Utah. Well actually I think it rained that night but we had enough sun to take a few pictures. We spent the week talking about why we celebrate Easter. The Family Home Evening before Easter I taught about the last week of Christ's life and the FHE after Easter Jacob and Adam taught an Easter lesson and I was very impressed with what they had learned and remembered. Easter has become way to commerialized for me but listening to their lesson I felt like they understood that it was more than just candy and bunnies.

Orginally I thought I was going to cut this tree down because it is in the middle of the yard but now after it bloomed I decided it was too pretty to cut down. We've spent every dry moment of April (which has not been many) working in the yard and David's gotten it in good shape. Now we're focusing on putting a garden in and David's going to build me garden boxes.

I had to include this picture of the boys with their Easter bags because Matthew was so happy about his. He loved carrying that bag around for days after.

Later that evening we had my family over for an egg hunt and dinner. My parents are in the middle of a remodel on their home and so we got to host dinner. It was a wonderful wonderful evening. I love that my house is big enough to have everyone over comfortably and the kids can have there space to play and the adults have their space to visit. We had a great time with everyone!
