A Supportive Husband

I have mentioned this before, but I have a very supportive husband...he doesn't give me a hard time about scrapbooking at all.  He really is awesome.  Anybody else got an awesome, supportive husband...give him a shout out in the comment section.  :)  Anyways, so in honor of my husband...here is a LO:

I actually included it in my HOF entry, under the favorites assignment.  There is quite a lot going on in this page.   Not exactly my typical work, but I do love all the details.

A Legacy of Love

Here is yet another HOF layout.  It  was for the last assignment, which was just to include 4 of your "favorites" that have never been seen.  So, this is one of my favorites.  :)

* People using stitching guides for stitching on their pages is very popular…but I say—why buy those when you can use a stamp.  I stamped my flowers and then stitched right on top of them.  When I add stitching to my page, I always poke my holes first, it makes it a lot easier.  And then for the stitching you see here, I did backstiching, which means that I brought my thread through a hole (back to front) and then went through the previous hole.  On the back, I then advanced to second hole and came through and stitched through the previous hole again.  That probably makes no sense at all, but I had someone ask me a question on how to backstitch so I was tring to explain.  :) Maybe I will have to put together a visual tutorial.

Second, what is up with blogger lately?  Is anybody else having problems with it?  I have the hardest time getting it to load pictures...it seems to be hit or miss.  It is just not working well for me and I have been getting frustrated.  Anybody else in the same boat?

Thirdly, my actual post.  :)  Here is my LO for the Photo Extraordinaire assignment.  It is a two-page spread, which I really don't do anymore.  It is very simple, but I really wanted to highlight the photos.

A Fun LO

Ok...here is another LO from my HOF entry.  To be honest, this one was one that I may have changed out if I had had more time, because I wasn't completely satisfied with it, but that is ok.  I still like it.  It's something new and a different.  :)  Anyways, it was my LO for the "designing with 3 or more photos" assignment.  Tell me what ya think.  

My first mini book

I had so much fun with my first mini book that I think I will do another one!  :)  My first one was for my HOF entry.  Here it is:

I put it all together with metal binding rings.  The last page actually has a long piece of the book hanging out that you can fold over and tuck into the cover in the spot where I sewed the lines...it fits nicely in there and keeps the book closed.  You should be able to click on the images to see them bigger...I know they are so small.

The Firefighter and the Dragon were very different from each other.  The Firefighter was handsome, smart and happy.  He knew how to love and how to help out.  The Dragon was cute, playful, and temperamental.  He enjoyed being loved and like to be the center of attention.  They thought that they couldn’t be friends because they were so different.  But they were lonely all by themselves.  Then they discovered that they had more in common then they thought.  They both loved laughing and playing in the leaves.  And they both loved going trick-or-treating and eating candy.  So they became friends afterall.

What's Going On

This is my LO for my product challenge that I just issued on Scraplovers.  The challenge is to use paint and embrace the idea that scrapbooking is art.  Join in on the fun here.

10 Beautiful Blossoms

A little while ago Creating Keepsakes requested a flower from me...it was something that I had put on another page and they wanted me to make a new one...a fun, bright-colored one.  And, of course, I did.  You can find the article ("10 Beautiful Blossoms") online now,  download it here.  The whole article (by C.D. Muckosky) is great, filled with fun, funky flowers.

A Canvas

This was my first canvas project.  It turned out a little too neat and pretty compared to the artsy picture I had in my head, but I still like it.  It was for my HOF entry (Creating Keepsakes Hall of Fame contest), and I didn't have time to make something new. But it does make me want to break out the paint and a canvas and see what else I can do.  The words were from one of those wall saying things, from a company called Uppercase Living.  The canvas itself is 14" x 14".  I will start revealing more of my HOF entry, so come back to see more.  :)

Some new LOs

Here's my first two reveals for April for Scraplovers.  This month we were sponsered by 7 gypsies and we got to work with their new Nottinghill line.  Love this line...the papers are gorgeous.  You can find them here.  

One last LO...and a letter

Ok, here is my last LO for the April kit from Coconut ScrapShop.  (But I still have lots left, and I make some cards or something).  It is much more simple than the others.

And here is what I did with the awesome dome ring.  I have to apologize though because I just could not get any decent pictures.  I wrapped a letter inside the ring to give away.  You could do this with invitations, letters, flowers, whatever you want.

The ring itself, I painted pink (just the inside of the ring) and put a green flower rub-on on top.  Here's a close up of the ring, but again, the picture is really bad...sorry.
